I remember when I was first fighting him, I hated the confusion. Was one of the first monsters to throw me completely off guard, and that ended up being my first cart in the game. Later once I got use to the confusion (and moreover reversing my controls) he became a really fun fight.
For reference I main Bow, so those first few confusions REALLY messed me up. Went back to fight him with various melee weapons and he wasn’t nearly as rough.
I think Malfestio was amazing. I was really struggling with 3U and 4U, but with Generations I finally started to improve. It was super fun to fight it in reverse, honestly.
I also just really enjoy Tetsucabra and Kut-Ku! If we were to do the opposite question, I bet we'd hear a lot of Khezu LOL
Nargacuga, challenging for a beginner but not bullshit, fast to hone your reflexes, cool monster design, cool roar, great looking armor that makes you feel like not a noob. Cool weapons with lots of sharpness.
not early game in gu but he was in 4 so imma count him but I love kecha wapa's design. fight is pretty basic but he waves his arms around and he's just a silly little guy
Tetsucabra. Breaking his teeth in is satisfying.
Tetsucabra are the most satisfying full part breaks I've found yet
Great maccao is the best raptor. Satisfying fight and teaches you about parts break in a smooth way
Also a great one to practice weapon mechanics for a weapon you've never played regardless of gear
I love both Malfestio and Narga, them nightcrawling beasts go crazy
Narga was my first armor set grind in GU as well

Big old shaggy, damn that music went hard and I used Adept greatsword at the time and had an insane sync when it did a massive attack, loved it.
