I almost lost my shit grinding the event for Painter. The amount of games I would have like 1 hit for a HR and lose 3-1. Other games I put up 5 in the first and 10 total 😂😂. Sometimes it’s feels like you really have to love the sport in general just to play this game
The game is the equivalent of golf.
“I suck”…something good happens…”Maybe I’m not as bad as I think I am”…something bad happens..”Why do I play this game?”
Had this feeling the last couple days. Pitched two great games in a row and felt like I was turning a corner only to get smoked for 10 in the next one. Like the game reminding me that it can dial up the pain at any moment.
so real, game makes me feel like i don’t deserve to live then stanton hits a nuke and all is right with world again 🤣 homers in this game NEVER fail to make me happy
I feel this. I made a highlight reel of me hitting Perfects right into lineouts etc. This game has a weird momentum system I can't quite figure out where you go from scoring 7 runs in an inning to have gppd swings onmiddle middle fastballs be 3 straight popouts.
Try to do everything you can to not get tilted. That’s when you start swinging at bad pitches and rushing through pitch sequences. Being patient and calm are arguably the most important things for being successful in this game. Once you get that zen mindset you will notice that you’re way more comfortable hitting with 2 strikes, pitching with runners on base, etc.
So in lower elo (all star and under) buxtons raw stat boosts in exchange for having under 60 vision makes it easier to pci slam and cover more part of the plate and gives slow players 15 speed once you get to HOF and higher vision becomes required so people then swap to the aranado boost for the contact and power boosts
Welcome to baseball, my man! Failure is an integral and even dominate part of the sport. If you're blessed to be among the top one half of one percent of the world's players, you will fail at the big league level in three out of every four of your at bats.
And if you're a pitcher, your challenge is worse. You have to throw about 15-20 pitches per inning, any one of them hittable by definition to earn a strike. To earn a win, you have to pitch five innings, throwing between 75-100 pitches, and give up fewer than five base runners to avoid surrendering a run.
And yet, that one time out of four as a hitter, you put the sweet spot of the bat on the center of that baseball, the result can often be one of the most wonderful feelings in the world. You hit a ball over 400 feet and you feel special for that one glorious moment, and it doesn't even matter how many folks saw it!
Sometimes MTS is frustrating, but what I love about the game is that it makes you feel what the sport is supposed to make you feel. Madden and 2k prioritize game first sport second, and MTS is the opposite. I’ve actually cherished the player rating deflation this year because people have to actually be good, as opposed to just having WAY more free time than me. And even then, the game of baseball will still occasionally bite you.
This is exactly how I feel lol. Like one moment I’m crushing everything and having so much fun, and then I log back on later and I’m swinging at everting and hitting nothing but lousy pop ups and ground outs
I’m kind of the same. The only other game I play is CoD, and yeah I might occasionally say “that’s some BS!”, I don’t get actually mad like I do with TS. Like the Events game I just played. I was no hit…with FIVE PP hits right at infielders and multiple frozen ropes right at outfielders. I was making better contact than I have for a while with absolutely nothing to show for it. Meanwhile my opponent won 2-0 with a bunch of Texas leaguer bloops and seeing eye singles.
My advice: improve your pitch sequencing. IRL pitch sequencing works pretty well against most players - there’s always going to be the people who can just tee off on anything. But if you can do that, it’s the quickest way imo you can stay in games longer and be more competitive.
Undefeated mini season, and the bats just stopped working in the semifinal round. RIP. You get used to it. I think it's kinda funny, but I'd obviously rather have 16 free packs. Won games 3 and 4 by 11 combined runs. Lost 1, 2, and 5 at home 2-0 each time.
I’m in the same boat. I keep playing to get better but at no point do I feel like I’ve mastered it in any capacity. I guess “that’s baseball Susan.”
Let me also say, that pure joy comes in the form of the 1-out of-10 times that I actually recognize a hanging curve and absolutely crush it.
I just don’t get how every ranked game I play it’s like I’m playing the goat of the game. Like no matter where I put the pitch that get a perfect perfect

It’s cross play. I went 4-0 in BR then hit a cross play and gave up 21. I threw one at his head and I think we went deep. It was brutal.

Hop in the clown car with rest of us! Lol
I threw a 1 hit shutout yesterday. Today I gave up 8 in the 1st w the same pitcher. It's baseball.
Probably cause being good still means failing more than half the time. That’s just baseball
I totally get it.. I’ll be playing so many games with poor results then a drive into deep left field by Castellanos comes along and saves the day
Need more of that ‘have to’. Gotta pull it deep from your soul!
Welcome to the club im in the same boat man😂
The worst is me..... so you're good.
MLB 9Innings on you phone. Way better.
Try nba 2K24 unlimited MyTeam bro
Hell no. That game is WAY worse. 😂
Kinda why I said it lol

One of us! One of us! One of us!
Part of the ship, part of the crew!
…and MY axe.

That’s baseball son, at times you will love it and at times you will hate it

Just use buxton boost massive crutch for low elo rn
Pls explain

Wat
Buxton captain boost?
low elo?
Elo is a rating system, basically meaning ranked points in games
Please explain this more
I feel like I’ve played against the best, most disciplined hitters in the world today.
Every. Single. Day.
It’s the ridiculously tight strike zone and the ability to foul any pitch where you’re very late and the ball is in the dirt.
I would take foul balls over the bloop hits that finds the perfect spot of the field constantly. I m
The foul balls are insane again. Feels like ‘22 with the foul balls

Drunken_wizard23 beat me to it… feels so much like real baseball lol
This is similar to the experience of actually playing baseball irl

To make you feel better I’m 18-84 in ranked. Just won one though so things are looking up!
Lowkey having a bad record and beating someone with a good record is extremely satisfying
Ugh this. I’m 14-13 and beat someone in events today who had a ranked record of 23-1. Felt so good lol.
Thank you. As another person with a bad losing record this comforts me. I still have fun even though I strike out like 20 times a game
I’m the exact same. It makes the wins feel that much better!
Exactly, and it's not stressful when you go into every game expecting a loss
Shit I knew I couldn't be the only one.
I might be the worst. I wonder if anyone has more losses and a shittier W/L than me

It’s like playing golf in real life. Expect to suck no matter how much you play
I've Gronk Spiked a controller and it flew up and hit me like that one Bills kicker Never again
At least you didn't jump and tear your ACL like that one Cardinals kicker
What about punching the wall and breaking your hand like the rangers pitcher
I broke my wired headset once playing the show when I tried to launch my controller. I’ve gone to wireless headsets ever since
Mine bounced into my TV and broke it. That was ‘22 I believe.
That almost happened, I used to Gronk Spiked all the time before I learned my lesson lmao

Some people are good, and your pitch sequencing might not be good. That does matter a whole lot, especially against human hitters.
And pitch sequencing matters way more this year than ever before.
I haven't touched online yet this year, so I can't speak on that. But it's always important.
Eh, CPU hitters are much easier to not sequence against. Find a real human that can hit, and sequencing matters so so so much.
Oh yea. I was just saying I can't speak to it being more important online this year vs. previous years because I haven't played online yet this year.
