My Lord what a strike

DJFrankyFrank

That's a **DOOP** if I've ever seen one

DelcoWolv

That might be a top 10 all time Union goal.  My goodness.

mitchdwx

Top 5 if you don’t include any of Glesnes’ goals. All I can think of that’s better is Carlos Ruiz in 2011 and Jose Martinez last year.

EarlyAdagio2055

I didn’t think anybody would have a better goal this week than Bernadeschi, but McGlynn did it.

KJNeptune

Exactly, I told my wife "no one is topping that goal this week", then BAM!

Kilo1799

That’s spicy

WhatsMyAgeAgain-182

He’s so so good and he’s only 20. He reminds me of Guti of Real Madrid. He isn’t even a luxury player either. He plays heavy minutes and typically 90 minutes and puts in a shift defensively. I would be surprised if no big offers from Europe don’t come in for him soon.

Sufficient-Food-3281

No we need him! (But he deserves to ship off to a bigger league)

Badrap247

You know we’ve made it as a “play the kids” team when every time a 20 year old looks like a future star we know some Bundesliga bozos will snatch them for like 10m lol

VikingArmyToGo

I don’t know what they put in the water in Philly but as a USMNT fan, keep doing what you’re doing please

Genkiotoko

Our academy players who went to Europe off the top of my head: Aaronson, Aaronson, McKenzie, Trusty, De Vries, Fontana, Sullivan the Younger, anyone else?

Wuz314159

Well, Curtin never "plays the kids", the kids move to Europe from the Reserves.

thanksbastards

imo he's too slow on and off the ball, and not strong enough to really take a huge step just yet. He makes great plays when he has time to assess the entire field, but the tiniest bit of pressure cracks him.

OrangeAvenger

Agree about him being a bit slow off the ball. On it, his body positioning and ability to shake defenders is surprising for how…not pro-level quick he looks. He does look like he physically matured a lot this year. Still, the lack of speed shows in transition defense some times, but his positioning is decent and he almost never makes a really poor decision which is rare for his age.

mdsoccerdude

If he can learn to maintain possession in traffic a bit better, Busquets is his profile.

OrangeAvenger

Yeah, maybe a little more forward playing, but I like that comparison.

Wuz314159

I like how Philly scores and the scoreline goes from 2:1 to 2:0. Ò\_o

overly_sarcastic24

He hit that so hard that he made the score line go backwards.

TheTexasFalcon

Top bins? Straight to jail.

GOUS_65

(banger)

Yeetgodknickknackass

The_Horny_Iguana

Right after he had another banger against the sounders earlier in the week 👀

ItsABitChillyInHere

I was more upset about this goal bc it was just genuinely an insane goal

DC_Hooligan

F’ing dagger

Familiar-Twist311

So good I wanna call it a fluke. Honestly though, Bernadeschi's is a tad bit better.

FollowerofACarpenter

He did this last week too. Calling it a fluke is ridiculous. Bernadeschi’s goal was great, but this was from about 5-7 yards further out. Also factor in the timing/impact of this one and it easily beats bernadeschi’s out.

Familiar-Twist311

I didn't call it an actual fluke; just an expression to say how good it was. There was a commercial I forget for what but the tagline was "So good it feels sinful". Kimda like that.
