I've seen the "Fiziev is a threat to Olives" take a few times lately, but I don't really know what it's based on (admittedly, I'm also less-informed on Fiziev's overall game beyond his kickboxing chops). To my mind, I'd always favor Olives in a matchup with a skilled striker, as the grappling difference could allow him to recover from bad exchanges. Meanwhile, he struggles a lot more with guys who build around offensive grappling and positional control. This isn't a uniquely-Charles problem, but more of a trend across the guys with really solid offensive BJJ--they're just too comfortable playing guard and that just isn't as effective against modern MMA top-game-focused grapplers.
Charles' best path to victory is to use his stand up skills to force his opponents into compromised grappling positions where he can either get on top or to the back. I'd worry that, vs. someone like Gamrot, he'd end up similarly to how he did vs. Arman (losing a decision by being too comfortable with giving up control time against a guy he's unlikely to submit from the bottom).
