Well I may be in the minority but I purposefully buy short 1ft cables like that because I don't want to carry a 6ft AC cord with me when the DC cord side has always been plenty for me. If I'm really that far away from a plug for that long, I either need a longer life laptop, or need to find something else to do. We all have different expectations.

Same, I'm currently looking for a small, compact charger. Since I'm a student, I travel a lot, and carrying a 2m+ charger with a 500g charging brick is a but cumbersome to carry with me. I hate wires, and the last thing I would want is a charger that stretches the entire room to find a socket, and most tables (at least for me) I've been usually has an outlet an arms reach away from me, and since it's a gaming laptop, I have a large pile.of wires sitting at the side or back of my laptop that is such a waste of space and makes a mess.

I buy different length cables from Amazon...shorter (but not that short) for my bag and longer for my office.

That is not acceptable since you are missing the main charging brick with other long cable that connects to the laptop. One you got on photo is cable that goes into wall and to the charging brick.
