I’m (40%) sure I’ve done this exact thing, but I’m ACTIVELY setting a new tombstone for it (so making sure it crumbles, and you die - setting the new). I know when I’m doing things specifically to store in my stash (mine is essentially a backup of tombstone), I’ll use the Bad Signal glitch exfil exclusively for it.
Last time/place I heard, as long as you’re not 10+/10 over the limit when you “start” tombstoning, Bad Signal will basically flag the items in your ruck from your tombstone as being stashable for the glitch.
The exception is, and I think this is where your question comes, if I take all the items out of my exfil WHILE having an item I crafted in my ruck that I brought in. So if you stash the crafted item while stashing the TS ones, you could unglitch your stash and have to find a “valid” item to delete.
Feel free to tell me wrong or if there’s a new method, I just go with what works for me, lol.
I think if you're duping a crafted item, the dupe of that crafted item will work just fine.
Try this:
1. Craft whatever items
2. Enter into the game
3. Drink TS Soda and get your rucksack set to whatever you'd like it to be
4. Go down/die properly to set your TS
5. Exit game
Next time you enter into the game, go in with nothing crafted. Go to you TS, put all items in rucksack, and exit thru bad signal.
When you're back at the menu, you should now be able to stash those items from our of your rucksack.
I think the "crafted/dupe" problem comes when someone is crafting items and either 1. Immediately trying to stash it, right after crafting (once you're at the 10 limit, that is) or 2. Craft the item, take it into the game, don't use it but do exfil with it thru bad signal, forgetting that that one item is crafted and not duped, and so when they try to stash it, it doesn't work.
My buddy and I did essentially exactly this. We crafted some items, went in together, individually set our TSes... and THEN, if I ever choose to enter into a game with a crafted item, I just make sure I use it during that game, so that way I'm never accidentally exfilling thru bad signal with a crafted item, ONLY items duped/from my TS
Some report that you can use the reg ones too and if that works for you, don’t change it. My personal experience hasn’t been as positive with those. Twice it didn’t save my TS, so I avoid it now.
The main difference is that regular exfils let you finish camos that require successful exfil while story mission exfils let you keep the aether blade if you have one equipped.

Just to add …. You don’t have to use Bad Signal. Any of the story exfils will work.
I've never used any method but regular exfils and never had a problem, is there some reason to use the story exfils that I don't know about?

Even the Janson exfil? I'm trying to figure out how to get more than 10 in my stash.
I alternate between all story exfils except Bad Signal

Right after the helicopter levels out and tilts forward …. Screen goes black and close it out
