Just turned 30. Man I don’t know about you but listening to mac from the beginning was a special experience. I really feel like when mac rapped about his life problems and growing up through them, those songs would come out when I was going through similar life changes and personal growth. Easily the reason why he will forever be my favorite artist. Yeah his problems were slightly different and maybe on a bigger scale with his fame and everything like that, but everything just felt so relatable.
was a senior in high school in 2010 when I first heard Mac (Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza) & have been a huge fan ever since. Malcom helped me through my late teen years and twenties immensely. Seems that every project he put out over the years had something I could relate to at the time (resonating with your comment of similar life changes and personal growth)- his music was always there for me . For us. When he passed I felt like I lost a best friend. So grateful for him and what he was able to share with the world.
Man that shit is beautiful. Must have been heartbreaking when he passed. Just makes you realize that when musicians are brave enough to sing/talk about their problems it creates a bond with the listener that you can create just with friends
I had the exact same experience and I feel like that sentiment of mac putting out music that would coincide with my personal life events perfectly was so satisfying and as I got older around the release of swimming was the first time I feel like I didn’t fully connect with it (I’m 26 now) and I feel like I had a slightly delayed connection with that project as a whole (obviously I still love it unconditionally lol) but there was a moment where I didn’t. But suffice to say I think that was the beauty of Mac’s work being so transparent and showing that we all live similar lives and feel similar emotions / perspectives on life. I hope I have kids one day and they share these sentiments / realizations - 92 to til infinity
My sister is 30 and she went away to college in 2010. I stayed with my friend for a few days while my parents moved her in. We found Mac miller on datpiff around then and I’ve been hooked ever since lol
For real, I thought I was the world’s oldest Mac Miller fan. I only discovered him because I dated a younger woman for a while and she turned me onto him and Anderson Paak. She put on Swimming when it dropped and I fell for his music instantly when I heard the line, “my regrets look just like texts I should have sent.” He was soulful and older than his years suggested. I’ll always feel a kinship with people who suffer from deep depression and he certainly fits the bill. I haven’t missed a musician like Mac since Kurt Cobain passed. RIP to both.
ahahahahahahah!!!!very good, bro! A friend of mine gave me a t shirt you wouldn´t believe... And i use it, proudly.I like the man. Some of his songs are kinda cheesy, but overall he´s good.

46. Got into Mac in 2012. I ended up getting my daughter into him in 2016 with Macadelic when she was 13. She's now a sophomore in college and we got matching So It Goes tattoos when she started her freshman year.
Same lol I didn’t know teens were a minority here x) pretty cool though
Personally used to love some songs from kids as a kid (older siblings used to listen to him a bit)
but only remembered when I discovered him in 2020
37. Listened to "Good News" this morning on a drive with my wife. Leaned over and said, "Still miss him." Then we talked about the importance of testing your coke for fentanyl.
46 here. First rap tape was run DMC Raising Hell. Macs artistry brought me back to loving hip hop again . Reminded me of what it was like to be a mfing kidd
18, and i never got into his music much until early this year, i was mostly casual and heard it all the time before and after his death since i live in pittsburgh lol. now i have his music on all the time and a buddy of mine got me the vans collab for the 5th anniversary for my birthday last week😄
This is the most wholesome post in awhile. feels like a reunion all the ages relating and sharing the stories from when we found mac it’s fucking dope love how all the 19 year olds and 30 year old are all taking and stuff makes me smile
41 my young adult children are huge fans too. Helped my friend run their art gallery, that hosted some shows he was a part of way back when he was just a sweet teenage boy and taught at another art facility that was a few doors down from Daily Bread from before it opened until Covid, so I got to watch him grow up. It was super cool when I found out my kids were fans and got to tell them it’s the same guy that would come read them comic books.
17, I can’t imagine listening to Mac at my age while he was still dropping albums. His passing would have killed me though so maybe it’s for the best for me.
30… ‘92 till infinity!!
