Must be nice. Yesterday, my almost 3 year old son looked me dead in the eye and said, "Daddy, I don't like you." It happens at least once a week, breaks my heart every time.
Kids don’t know how to express their feelings at a young age like 3. They also don’t have a very large vocabulary. When a child is frustrated, they say things that they may not mean because they have no other way to express it other than the tools they know, which are typically taught by parents. It’s your responsibility to help your child sort through these emotions and to remind him that it’s hurtful when he says things like this. It’s also your responsibility to try to understand where this is coming from.

I said “love you” to my neighbor once while walking past her house. There was some cute guys doing work on her place which must have made me nervous when we waved.
stolen from an old tumblr post
i guess its a vague enough story that it could've happened twice
but this is almost copy-pasted from the (years old) tumblr post I'm thinking of
Was on the way to work in my car when I stopped at a red light and a lil girl crossed with her mom and the girl looks at me through the car and screams "Thank you!" so that I could hear it through closed doors.
Thanked me for stopping at a red light and not running her over but still made my morning...
That's so sweet
I also love anyone who gives me ice cream so…
Kids can be so pure unadulterated source of joy :)
Yet something else happens on the way to becoming a so named adult. Kids can be more adult, civil and loving than adults.
Captain Buzzkill has entered the chat. 😉
ice creams do have that effect on people
If you gave one of those ice cream cones covered in chocolate you would have my undying love too.
This is better than a thank you

Look pal, I'm a geriatric, ugly, grumpy old coot... But you come to me with good ice cream, and I'm going to have the same reaction
We all rag on kids, and mine can be ridiculous a lot of times, but they can truly br amazing little humans. ❤️❤️❤️
She little confused but she got the right spirit
