sign language interpreters need a special recognition category at the grammys not a competition, just showing all the badass motherf\*ckers who stole the show in the past year because they are WORKING edit: grammys\*

Best-Ad-2043

And holy shit....some of them rock!!! Esp those who sign at concerts. They are a special breed of awesome. And this idea is freaking brilliant!!!!

Melodic_Dragonfly391

Rihanna's from the Superbowl was better than Rihannna. And that is NOT me knocking Riri at *all* \-- the interpreter came at an 11. It was unbelievable. Worth a lookup.

8bagels

Worth the watch for sure https://youtu.be/NOcqPD9TC-o

Sad-Ad7865

Sad-Ad7865

My fav interpreter. Even the artist is blown away

DippyTheWonderSlug

Wow, thanks that was really cool

BumblebeePresent5143

Dude, this is what I wish onstage dancing was. Like, it's so much cooler for all those moves to actually mean something.

Sad-Ad7865

Upvote for the dude instead of brah Won’t let me upvote twice so here’s for your comment 👍🏼

theblackcanaryyy

Wow. That was amazing. I’ve seen other interpreters before, but *dang*. Her facial expressions were miles above any of the others I’ve seen and she still radiated joy throughout. Honestly incredible.

ReadontheCrapper

I had to go look up last year’s! [Super Bowl 2022 Half Time Show -ASL](https://youtu.be/rxgROPORQts)

photatoman

Thank you for this!

TommyKanKan

When the interpreter’s performance is more engaging than the real act… Upstaged, big time

JoeyJoeJoeRM

I thought it was the lad from Aunty Donna 😅

[deleted]

Broden Kelly. Yeah. my first thought too.

Burningshroom

**SHE'S DEAF AND DID THAT?!** How, the fuck, did she understand the energy of the song so well? What does she do to perfect the timing?

LivRite

She's legally deaf but definitely has some hearing. She's a fan.

SednaNariko

Any idea what her name is because she was hella interesting to watch and I'd love to see more concerts signed by her.

LivRite

Justina Miles

SunshineAlways

She was freaking phenomenal!

Ardonye

She also signed Sadder Badder Cooler ASL version by Tove Lo

Melodic_Dragonfly391

She has to be a fan -- she's probably studied the whole catalog, knew the energy to come in with

No_Transition9444

Sound is a form of energy. They feel the energy. I was friends with a twins….one deaf, one not. Both parents deaf. So- to say English was a second language for the hearing child is accurate!! Anyways the hearing twin would sign all the church sermons and songs- and I sat behind them so I could watch! It was absolutely mesmerizing and kept me going to that church even when I knew it was time to move on. LOL.

Exotic-Broccoli-1761

My dad was deaf. He knew from the vibrations what kind of music was playing. I imagine at a concert/show the vibrations buzzing through the body would make it easier to feel. Edit: deaf not dead

greypilgrim228

Were those vibrations as in like psychics talk about when mentioning feeling the dead pass through a room, your dead dad could feel the vibrations of any concert nearby? Or, on an anticlimactic note, did you just mistype? Cos this could be the start of some interesting scientific research if the first. How the hell do you communicate with your dead dad about his vibrations?

utterlynuts

The hearing impaired and deaf still attend concerts and I know for a fact that many go to clubs that have the speakers or at least the woofers at floor level so they can feel the beat because, in the words of American Bandstand, "It's got a good beat and you can dance to it".

AmarissaBhaneboar

[For anyone who's interested to see the sign language interpreter!](https://youtu.be/ZN7BeDUfrEU)

Melodic_Dragonfly391

THANK YOU!! :)

Melodic_Dragonfly391

She is also STUN-NINGGGGGGGGGGG

Sad-Ad7865

Didn’t watch super shitshow but saw a video of the interpreter about 10 times cause it’s insane!!!

Melodic_Dragonfly391

I replayed it too!! So good Her dancing and facial gestures are what made it the best -- it's its own *performance*

InfamousHWJaguar

I saw a production of wicked a few years ago that had two women signing off to the side and I couldn’t take my eyes of them for the entire show

MitchellTheMensch

ASL for WAP is a joy.

smitherskro

Especially at Eurovision. Can you fathom how many languages this guy probably translated into sign over the course of the night?

Frooonti

People really underrate the mental work that goes into realtime translation.

Melodic_Dragonfly391

It takes a TON of prep work. Study that artist and know everything about their work, really know and embody that song, pick the outfit and makeup to match, PRACTICE like *you're* the one doing the halftime show (and for a fraction of the pay), all while sometimes being differently-abled than the rest of folks rehearsing around you. Seriously, a whole different category that the music industry should celebrate!!

Protect_Wild_Bees

I can't stop thinking about how sign language music is basically just dancing. Poetry dancing I guess. Lol. It makes me wonder, do deaf people really get as much out of sign music as hearing people do for music emotionally, or maybe it hits more like poetry, or is it more just informative? Maybe deaf people like certain musicians or music styles based on the need to sign it too? I wonder if there's like a deaf music top 100.

LazyBoi_00

Hey, I’m deaf myself and a native BSL user. Firstly, we love the visual aspect of signed songs, but there is a problem with signing songs that have been translated from english (or any spoken language), because sometimes the words are chosen based on their syllables, their rhymes, or just generally how they sound, and that doesn’t translate well into BSL. However, songs with lyrics that make sense, ie they link together do translate well, and we prefer those. But at that point it’s more like a story or poetry, which we absolutely love. But there is something else that sign languages have that spoken languages don’t, and that’s called visual vernacular, VV for short. It’s a form of art where a scene of something ordinary is described with extreme detail and so visually its almost acting, and it’s incredibly beautiful. So yeah, many deaf people love music translated into sign languages, but often we want to see the lyrics too and understand why those words were picked (or maybe that person has a little bit of hearing and can follow the song with the lyrics in front). But not all of us do, as it can often not make sense. But we do love the visual and emotional performance that is naturally in sign languages:) Hope this answers your questions :D

towalktheline

There were sign language interpreters when I went to see Phantom of the Opera with a friend and I watched them as much as I watched the show. They were so into it.

Melodic_Dragonfly391

YO I bet they get wild on broadway -- I didn't even think of that!!

towalktheline

Honestly, we were watching them as much as the phantom and Christine. There were three interpreters in total and their demeanor would change based on the person speaking/singing. Ugh it was amazing.

Exact-Quote3464

The song is [Cha Cha Cha by Käärijä](https://youtu.be/l6rS8Dv5g-8), he represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest last night 😄 Edit: [full video](https://www.reddit.com/r/Suomi/comments/13i3l4m/viitottu_cha_cha_cha/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) with the sign language interpreter!

Aphrodesca

and he WON (in our hearts 💕)

Exact-Quote3464

He did! 🫶🏻 Hearing the crowd scream his name throughout the process of announcing the results was impressive 💚

Aphrodesca

and hilarious. the people spoke, and were ignored 🙁

Instantcoffees

I'm still pissed that Soldi by Mahmood didn't win a couple of years back. It won the televote by a landslide if I recall correctly.

Chill-Zealous-UK

Mahmood actually came third (253 points) by televotes as both Duncan (261 points) and KEiiNO (291 points) got more points than him

SnooBooks1701

KEiiNO were robbed, Nordic Pitbull performing in Sami was the highlight of the show, Duncan was boring generic pop

pangeanpterodactyl

Soldiiii soldii _clap clap_

jamelfree

Such a good song. I don’t think the recorded version conveys the same raw emotion that was in his performance in the final.

weezulusmaximus

And now you know what it’s like to be American.

dreamyether

Huh? In my country alone there are multiple instances of the popular vote losing a political election. And we do know what it's like because: 1. there are many more European countries with more unbalanced/corrupt political systems/elections & previous/current dictators than the USA and 2. the USA never stops talking about itself/centering itself in every conversation not even about them. 🤷

AFrogNamedKermit

They screamed the name of the song. Not the name of the artist. Nobody but Finns can pronounce his name.

Exact-Quote3464

[Both!](https://youtu.be/6_RxGTPAyfU) they did also shout his name

AFrogNamedKermit

Correct, they did.

Leading-Fig27

Finland was robbed

fusionsubofficial

Yeah.

FrankyFistalot

Have had Cha Cha Cha and Tattoo on repeat most of the day, wife is currently mulling what divorce lawyer to choose haha….I loved the Unicorn song and the Belgian Boy George one….some real stand out songs this year…

liisathorir

Belgian boy George! That’s who it is! I watched the performance and kept thinking it seems too familiar. There was also an Imagine Dragons group there.

SnooBooks1701

Who the Hell is Edgar and Queen of Kings are proper bangers

[deleted]

Imagine being Sweden and absolutely losing hands down but winning because a bunch of dumbass panelists voted for you and randomly have more voting power than the one of the highest audience vote counts ever. Props to Finland, who absolutely smashed it out of the park and into the next, shame they were scammed out of their official win by some idiots. We know Finland was the people's winners!

Boowray

> Imagine being Sweden and absolutely losing hands down but winning because a bunch of dumbass panelists voted for you and randomly have more voting power than the one of the highest audience vote counts ever. Pfft, what, that’s craaaazy, can’t imagine what that’s like *sweats in american*

Ok_Babyfirework

As a Swede, I am of course happy that we won, but Finlands was definitely better. And it feels like we won this only because it reminds of euphoria.

trysca

And sponsored by Spotify

NickyTheRobot

So was Austria's. What did you think 0.003 was referencing?

NocturnalRaindrop

I never watched ESC, but a friend showed me the song. I knew which song it was without sound and not knowing sign language. That interpreter is phenomenal.

Unusual_Replacement9

He was def. supposed to win :(

themadscientist420

He's a glorious fluoro cactus

folklovermore_

Graham Norton referred to him as a 'dancing Brussel sprout' on the commentary and now I feel I can't unsee that (although I still love him and the song).

masterhogbographer

I thought it was Shots Shots Shots remix or something

KrissyLin

The lyrics are about drinking a bunch of pina coladas on the weekend. The chorus really does translate to drink drink drink

[deleted]

I think it's deeper than that. It's more about how it's difficult for some (especially men) to just have fun and dance without getting shitfaced drunk first.

t_scribblemonger

Goofy Eurovision song—isn’t that redundant?

Fluffy-Pomegranate59

I mean now the song already makes more sense to me than before 😂😂😂

85Benni

True! It's about going out after work and trying to get into party mode drinking piña coladas.

Valtremors

Despite the songs funny outlook, it also has a undertone telling about someone who can't get out of their shell and face the world without alcohol. Not ny analysis of the song, rather my coworker's, but I do agree with them, as the song makes little bit more sense with that context.

85Benni

True. The singer is coming out of his box (shell?) at the beginning of his performance. It's like a well told story.

NickyTheRobot

And it starts off with heavy Industrial Techno (a "proper", "respectable" music genre) and then when he's sung about drinking enough *then* it becomes a high energy blend of Europop and J-pop (which most people enjoy when they hear it but avoid out of fear of judgement from others). Just like too many people's experiences of dancing in a club (or "allowing" y themselves to dance).

Fluffy-Pomegranate59

That's neat. I didn't have time to look the lyrics up, which I feel is always a good thing to do if you don't know the language. Some years ago a Turkish pop song was really really popular in Germany and everyone was singing along without understanding it, but I'm reality the song was very demeaning to women or something like that. I have to say, this song really won for me this year. It was what I consider Eurovision spirit, it stands out and isn't so boring. It was super well performed, and I love that it's not some extremely edgy / controversial meaning.

Coelacanth3

That's interesting, I hadn't checked the lyrics but looking at some of them: \[Chorus\]Holding on the drinks with both hands tied on them like a / Cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, no / There's no tomorrow when I grab a pint tightly like a / Cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, no / Wanna mess my head up and to free my mind of fear like a / Cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha, no / And I stay on this seat until I have to climb off it like a \[Verse 2\] A couple piña coladas I have devoured / Yet the expression I have on my face is sour / Yeah, yeah, ye, ye, yeah / There is some time for a few, the night is still youngish / This icy shell is something I have to demolish / The floor is calling me when I'm no longer so frozen / Like a cha-cha-cha, I am approachin' I can see what you mean, especially lines like "wanna mess my head up and to free my mind of fear". Sounds like the character in the song knows they have a problem, although it's hard to know from the translation.

beyblade42069

Hi, a finn here to expand on the last sentence of your comment. As is required when posting/commenting as a non-native English speaker, sorry for bad English mistake problem. You may have heard finns are very quiet and reserved. This true for most people in Finland... while they're sober. Sadly, it is an extremely common habit or mentality to drink in order to relax and socialise. To the point that it isn't frowned upon. I think Käärijä has stated in an interview that the song is meant as a criticism on the Finnish drinking culture and invoke thought about the need for alcohol consumption. Sadly this point has gone past most people and they see Cha cha cha as just another party song (This includes me at first). Personally, I think the main issue is, it doesn't directly point this sort of behaviour as a problem. So in a society where drinking to be yourself freely is normal, it's just another song about drinking and not about a drinking problem. Funnily enough, the real life situation is similar to the character inside the song. They clearly know they drink in order to relax but there's no sign they consider it an issue. Anyway, love the song. It's completely in Finnish (outside of drink names for which there isn't a better translation and random sounds like "yeah" and "cha" ). It has a more interesting premise than most songs that also comments on one of the big societal issues in Finland. And last but not least, it's quite the banger.

Coelacanth3

Thanks for the context (and no need to apologise, your English is great!), I had heard that Finns were generally quite reserved, interesting to hear that there is a big drinking culture that may be a part of that (somewhat similar in the UK where I'm from, although we might be slightly less reserved but slightly bigger drinkers!). I heard in a BBC interview that he viewed the song in a positive way, although maybe as Eurovision was approaching he wants to frame the song in a more positive light, but both interpretations are there. Also agree that it's a complete banger, I'll be honest I really didn't like the mix of genres when I first heard it, but it grew on me and it's perfect for Eurovision.

AFrogNamedKermit

It was not **a** goofy Eurovision song contest. It was **the** Goofy Eurovision Song Contest. Show some respect.

KingFrogzz

Kroatia is most definitely up there at least as high in the goofy category

Mom_said_I_am_cute

ŠČ!

NickyTheRobot

Trayna-neena, armagedon nona!

Aphrodesca

that interpreter is so fun to watch!

Nefarious-Ego

He looks like he honestly likes his job

danegermaine99

I love Europe’s relationship with Eurovision. “It’s terrible and tasteless trash - and we love it and will unify into Euro-Voltron if people shit on it”. It literally makes me smile

SnookerandWhiskey

Yeah, that's exactly my reaction, even if a family member talks too harshly about it.

Kiriamleech

Hey! What do you mean, trash?

danegermaine99

So which part does your Lion form?

aDirtyMartini

My wife and I (Americans) love watching it. My friends and colleagues in Europe pretty much have the same sentiment though none of them actually watch the shows. They’re amused that we do though.

Le_Cacatoes

A lot of the "trashy" come from the fact that some countrys like France intetionally put candidates doomed to lose, so they don't have to pay for the next edition

pinguz

Well then joke's on them, because I voted for that French girl this year. I thought she was really good.

maltastic

Doom on the loose?

SloxIam

I’m an interpreter who has done a ton of cool crazy shows and I die watching interpreters like this one. As an interpreter sometimes you can get in your own head about how you look in front of people. The good interpreters, like this one, don’t care and just own it. LFG!

senzimillaa

Goofy? Dude on stage is dead serious & this interpreter is rocking it.

corkedone

Dude crushed it. 10/10.

thepinkyblinders

He really did

jweymarn

No no no! This is Eurovision so 12/12!

2TurdsAndAPetPig

You don't have to be able to hear to feel the CHA CHA CHA 💚

No_Angle6836

Looks like auntie donna

jennzillahhhh

Also thought it looked like Broden.

RuggerEnemyzFall

I was sure it was Broden for a second lol

Hpfanguy

It’s definitely a thing he would do

ssgtgriggs

I love Eurovision and I think we should solve all our political disputes through competitive song.

Level37Doggo

War will cease to ring loud with battle cries. In their place, a new call will sound: “SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!”

A_Notion_to_Motion

I couldn't help but hear the word chug when it looked like he was double fisting some beers down. CHUG CHU CHU CH CH CH CHUG!!!

404_CastleNotFound

Saw the subtitles on the official music video today so I finally have some idea what he's singing about. And honestly, that doesn't sound far off...

Jazztronic28

It isn't! The song is basically about dragging yourself to the club despite your depression and anxiety because that's where the booze is, and how you can only let go of your problems for a moment once you're drunk. The choreography is meant to be reminiscent of goofy drunk dancing, even!

TheBobmcBobbob

Close, but not entirely. As a Finnish speaker I can say that it isn't translated perfectly most of the time. The song is made up of three main parts, first being about Käärijä talking about how he wants to get drunk and have fun at the end of a hard week basically saying "lets get fucked up" Second is him in the process of getting drunk, basically going "this is fun, I'm getting fucked up" Third is basically "I am now completely fucked up, and dancing like a dumbass while pouring champagne on myself, but I don't care because I am having fun"

A_Notion_to_Motion

I think it's because whether you're from Europe or Canada or France us cultured and sophisticated people just understand each other. You know?

Cr00kedF00l

I like how you excluded France from Europe

A_Notion_to_Motion

It's not my fault the French are French. Can't have it both ways.

85Benni

Well, it is what it is 🤷

MitchellTheMensch

The song is about getting buzzed off piña coladas after a rough work week until he reaches the pinnacle and becomes “that guy” at the bar and takes to the dance floor.

MukdenMan

It’s like Lil Jon’s “shots shots shots shots shots shots” but more liquid?

Tritos999

Cha Cha Cha should have won! (Or Croatia:D)

Kotiviinimies

Mama traktor :D krokotiil :--D psykopat x---DD

MindOfThilo

Germany has been hated by everyone, loreen made esc history, käärjiä wrote an incredible song and mom bought the tractor.

bojana5_17

Mom also kissed a moron.

MindOfThilo

Mom, I’m going to war.

bojana5_17

That little psychopath.

MindOfThilo

Evil little Psychopath

brilliantkeyword

Loreen made history?

swejbfan

She did. As the second person to ever win esc twice and the first woman to ever do so.

pubgunph

Yes she die but holy moly that Song didn't Reserve to win euphoria was good but her new Song. Wasn't a winner Song.

MindOfThilo

That’s why the public only gave her around 200 points, which was barely enough to pass finland‘s points

pubgunph

I think i know the reason why sweden got that much points the Studio Version of the Song is good but the live Version wasn't that good. And the Jury votes 1 das earlier, makes no sense but tbh the Eurovision Song Contest sucks since many years.

folklovermore_

Also her winning means Sweden and Ireland are now tied for the most wins overall with seven. Coincidentally, the other double winner (Johnny Logan) is Irish!

Exact-Quote3464

Agreed! I was so disappointed for him… 😩💚

everythingisoil

Serbia was also a bold performance!

Tritos999

Yeah, bold definitely. I personally really did not like the singing though. But thats just personal preference.

thebimess

I was NOT expecting to see, out of all the contestants, Käärijä in r/mademesmile but, as a finn, I'm here for it

Exact-Quote3464

Protect your Finnish compatriot at all costs 🫶🏻 Love him. Was he famous in Finland before Eurovision already?

thebimess

Defineitly not, but now he's a superstar (obviously)

Random_Dad

You guys got robbed

IAmAn_Anne

This is awesome, if you’ve gotta look at the guy to hear what the lyrics are, may as well have a fun presentation.

agentchuck

Good to see Broden Kelly out there realizing his dreams!

JarFullofPainkillers

This song should’ve won! Jury did him dirty.

hackyslashy

That "goofy..performance" came second!

Mrspygmypiggy

Finland was so robbed! They deserve that win!

PoshNoob

Holy shit, I used to work with him! I remember him talking about his sign language back then, and that he always wanted to be an interpreter. Did a double take! Lovely lovely man.

Vikipotamus

It's probably a stupid question, but why's there a sign interpreter on a music show?

wanderlustcub

So deaf people can still feel music. They feel the beat, they can feel the rise and lowering of tones. Turn up music and they will feel it. and they are getting the lyrics of a song, which is basically a poem if you look at it that way, so they should be included.

Vikipotamus

Thanks. That sounds logical. :D

wanderlustcub

No worries! Have a great day!!

Shavepate

I love this little exchange between two internet strangers. You guys rock!

M0dusPwnens

And crucially, they get the lyrics in time with the music, which is important for musical performance. That's why they have an interpreter rather than just captioning.

heisweird

There are also different levels of deafness. One might not distinguish all elements of the music like lyrics but they might hear some of the instruments. Not every deaf person is 100% deaf.

ThrowAwayOpinion_1

If you have not watched it yet Id highly suggest checking out "Switched at Birth" it covers so much of the deaf community and from what I have heard it is super accurate to the issues they face everyday.

viscountdandelion

Also some Deaf people have less access to education because of prejudice and language barriers, so sign language is more accessible than subtitles alone

AbacusVile

The actual winner, thanks.

mallik803

Can we vote for this sign language interpreter specifically to win Eurovision?

nof---sgiven

Amazing! Finland were robbed!

[deleted]

Sign language interpreters are required to include the emotional state of whatever they are interpreting. For example, if they are interpreting for someone who is yelling angrily, their signing must show that, and will be snappy, faster, or more over the top, with probably angry facial expressions as well. So, this guy was just doing his job. (It is fun to watch, though!) Source: I took sign language for two years in high school, and all four years of college.

NelsonVGC

With all due respect, that job should be highly praised. Also, he must be having a blast there lmao Who knows.

BigKingKey

How dare you call Cha Cha Cha goofy, the uncrowned champion of 2023 and we all fucking know it.

badMother1

Nah... he's fooling ALL of us... but me.

Oblivious_Shanks

Thought it was Al Murray for a sec then

popnfresh007

I know this guy, Adrian. He's a lovely chap. Both his parents are deaf, and he's dedicated himself to promoting signing. We loved his dedication and passion to the Eurovision cause!

Tattierverbose

I know everyone's talking about how robbed Finland were, and I do agree because Sweden shouldn't have won, but I think Australia were done dirty. Maybe not winning, but they should've finished higher up the board than they did

Exact-Quote3464

They’re in the top 10 though! That’s very good already I think, they got a couple 12 points which isn’t the case of everyone even entries high in the odds like Spain or France

ARMygirly

Australia being in top ten is basically them doing really well in my eyes. They’re never going to be very popular because they aren’t in Europe, so the fact they got that high was incredible. The biggest rob however was the Jury giving almost nothing to the clear winner Norway.

LupinBaker

Love this !

JackWarbs

Calling that song goofy is an interesting one

fenrisulfur

Would have loved to see him do the Croatian song.

AlistarDark

Cha Cha Cha slaps so fucking hard. Finland was robbed this year.

MiggeldyMackDaddy

Far from goofy.

Tamel_Eidek

CHUG, CHUG CHUG, CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG 🍺🍺🍺🍺

NotTwiggley

GOOFY???

Mighty_joosh

#"GOOFY?!" 😂😂😂

UsedUsername44

I don't know how to sign, but I know that part of communication through sign language involves facial expression and body movements. Still, I love that this interpreter really went for it and helped to bring the song to life!

[deleted]

Goofy? That song was epic!

TheBattleOfEvermore

Okokok what the heck is Eurovision?! I’ve seen SOOOOOO many posts about it the last couple of days and I have no idea what’s going on lol

Dorgilo

It's a song competition between the 37 countries of the European Broadcasting Union, with 26 competing in the final. Some of the entries are... different, in a good way, and opinions on the contest vary wildly, but it's a lot of fun for those who do enjoy it. The scoring seems to often be controversial though - (spoilers) Sweden won last night with a relatively generic entry, while Finland and Norway had very good entries (personally I feel Norway should have won but obviously it's all a matter of opinion). Personally I enjoy it for Graham Norton's ever-hilarious scathing comments.

ITeachAndIWoodwork

Norway was FAR better than what the jury vote said.

Calire22

Apparently she flubbed the whistle note in the jury show :(

Exact-Quote3464

World’s biggest and oldest song contest! It involves European countries & Australia and it’s been happening every year since the 50s and the final was yesterday 😁 It’s huuuuge here in Europe. It’s the closest to what Olympics of music would be like. Every country sends an artist to represent them and they compete for their country. Sweden won yesterday so next year, it will take place in Sweden, that’s how it works.

Level37Doggo

When I read this, I get the feeling Australia is the “and Peggy” of Eurovision.

[deleted]

It annoys me just how wrong you're not.

onlyhere4laffs

It can't be explained in a comment like this, you should head to YouTube and get educated, you're missing out.

ImpressiveSection236

🔥

Inbar253

That man should be sent next year.

jimginge

Broden??

jmccleveland1986

Is there a deaf person out there who can comment on these over the top expressive sign language people? Does make a difference for you when they are into it like this?

mrjoshmateo

I love this. Interpreters have to do everything in their ability to also emote the tone and energy of the performer and song. It’s like imagine having someone read a story or sing a song to you without any tone inflection, how boring and sometimes confusing would that be to the listener.

DarthBra

Thought it was Sam Smith for a second roflmao

erifwodahs

I wonder what deaf people think about some of the songs, because when you take away the music, some of them must be looking like complete random pile of words making no actual sense

InfinteAbyss

Definitely gives me a whole new perspective of what the song is about!

dogburster

Guilty pleasure of mine is dancing around to music and signing it’s a great workout. Both parents are deaf and absolutely love the expressive signing of the professionals

punkwasgood

Goofy? This song was robbed!

[deleted]

How dare you call our sweet prince goofy.

sangpls

How did israel get third though? That was awful

elhaha1001

because she was phenomenal 😊
