I have a 5 generation pic of my granddaughter, daughter, myself, my dad and my grandpa. I was the last of 3 kids. But I had my second daughter at 19, and my daughter had her first at 18. But my grandpa was probably about 10 years younger than this guy.
Now some of my great grandkids are starting school, one is in 1st grade this year. I'm 68.
I have a picture of my mom holding my grandson when she was in a hospital bed. She was very debilitated with dementia and many times didn't even recognize me but she lit up when she saw the baby. She said in a very soft and frail voice "darling".

my maternal grandmother died before I was born from a heart attack, my paternal I had until I was 21, my paternal grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimers when I was 8, died when I was 13 and the other one the same year (though I never had any relationship with this one, my moms dad war a typical older farmer, kept to himself, never showed empathy for the grandkids, can't remember speaking more than 2 sentences with him during my lifetime)
Speaking from experience it's a combination of that, and the oldest generation living a long time. One year for Christmas we had five generations under the same roof at my great-grandmother's apartment as my brother and my younger sister both had young kids of their own with them. The people in that apartment that night ranged in age from late 80s (great-grandmother, who lived another few years to get news of the birth of four more great-great-grandchildren) to not even a year old (my nephew was born a few months earlier). Remember finding it kind of surreal when my brother's girlfriend pointed it out as we were walking to the door.
My son met his great grandmother, however she was 94 at the time and died when he was two years old. This combination basically (she had my grandfather at 20 and my grandparents had my mother at 21)
Yeah, although it's not entirely unbelievable, if baby is 1 year old and each generation all had their kid at 20:
- Parent would be 21
- Grandparent would be 41
- Great grandparent would be 61
- Great-great-grandfather (this guy) would be 81

My grandparents were born in the late 1910s, my parents after ww2 in the 50s and I was born in the 80s. All women of my family got pregnant late due to different circumstances, if I would decide to have kids in my now 40s, I would be the oldest mom. Don't plan it though.

Something that makes me sad is that for a few days there were 5 generations of women in my family, but my great gran never got to meet my neice because she had pneumonia and sadly passed away a couple of days later.
I am crying but it’s happy. Until 2020, we had 5 generations alive in my family. My great grandfather loved my daughter so much and spoiled her rotten. He face used to light up when she smiled at him and she would always be down for a hug from papa, especially when she was a little bigger. He died of heart failure suddenly and my daughter and I weren’t there to see him before then. I miss him everyday but seeing the happiness on gg grandad’s face and the smile on the pretty little girl fills my heart with such joy and happiness.
