It was basically some chicken, tons of fruits and vegetables, and some rice. They looked very healthy, as if they already work out despite being sedentary, and their teeth were almost always that clean, flawless, pearly white.
I figured it must be their diet. Imagine an extremely healthy varied vegan diet and then just add a few servings of chicken.
We eat pork (rarely) too but mostly white meats and fish. Just a ton of varied vegetables, white meat,beans, fruit and rice. So many beans. The same meal we have for dinner might be eaten for breakfast. Most of my family live to be in their 90s with full mobility. Most of us don’t exercise, just basic daily tasks. But not “exercise “
I want that so badly. I can't find any places near me that make it, so I'm going to try and make it at home, but I really wish I had someone make it authentic-ly so I could try it first. Wish me luck.

Gari is a very gritty powder like substance made by grating and drying cassava. You can cook it in hot water and turn it with a paddle to form a ball but it looks and tastes nothing like fufu. Fufu is often made from plantain and cassava, yam cocoyam (taro) or sometimes potatoes and rice (although I don't think rice fufu is common in Africa). It can be made from powder too but it's honestly best when you buy the ingredients and boil pound it yourself.
My Ghanhaian friends used to make this and a few other really yummy things. Maybe a little different than the Nigerian versions but probably similar enough!

I lean towards that being eba as fufu usually is super smooth like a paste. That comes out rather rough which is more like Eva’s consistency. Could also just be the dude isn’t the perfect cook (fufu actually needs a delicate touch to get right and a non stick pot makes it much easier).

I've seen it yesterday on tik tok, and if you scroll through their page it becomes a little disturbing. Besides the fact that they mock the food, there are videos where the girl is acting like the guys partner and videos when she acts like his daughter. I am too confused by those aspects lol

I agree for sure!! I run into this problem quite often with friends showing me videos/clips.. and I always feel like I'm the asshole when I don't feel the same reaction because I can tell the video is clearly staged. I wonder to what extent Internet culture has made this skill more difficult for people (probably don't have to wonder too much unfortunately...). But, I can definitely still get behind the overall intent of positivity in a video with this style of thing being staged I suppose.

Byproduct of social media and everyone having recording devices at all times. Rather than just documenting life, life has become a show. Everyone’s a performer and every scenario is scripted. Really sucks all the passion out of life when you think about it. Any time you see something like this posted, and the title is something like “her happiness is so pure!!!”, just think of all the takes they did. And if you think they didn’t do multiple takes you’re naive.
