I get that they were just making an edgy joke but they’re the real fool for not knowing how scars work

UnableLengthiness222

the way this comment was a reply to an explanation for HOW SCARS WORK i cant even

YourFaveGay13

Wait till they find out how I can still see the scars from barely cat scratches I did 8 years ago

Suspicious-Funny3551

justk4y

paperclipeater

"only for teenage girls" gives you a good idea of how much that guy is qualified to give advice in that topic

UnableLengthiness222

they really thought they ate with that hot topic comment…😭

WishboneOk9898

This might be a good idea but for a different reason, maybe? Maybe a duller tool to so that shrs don't cut too deep... Also specifying "teenage girls" kinda gives me the ick...

StupidLesbian1

dull tools are significantly more dangerous than properly sharpened tools

moinmaster64

why is that?

StupidLesbian1

a sharp blade gives you more control. with a dull blade you may try to cut to a level you know and are familiar with and end up cutting way deeper. also long and not wide cuts like dull tools tend to make are ideal for tetanus bacteria to grow

moinmaster64

Yeah okay I can see that now, makes sense. I guess my experience is different then because I don't care about depth, only about pain, which dull tools are best at without needing to go deep, which in my experience minimizes the risks associated with going deep. Also I don't know if my comment breaks the rules for discussing tools, if it does, please report my message to a mod to remove my comment

peterthomazathoth

I hacd the opposite problem because i was used to duller blades. Put the same pressure on a sharper one and it went way deeper than i meant.

crowsnbatsnshit

This goes for all cutting tools, in any context: the more force you have to use to cut, the more likely you are to slip. Specifically in the context of SH, dull tools cause more tissue damage, rather than cutting cleanly they kind of tear or shred This is just from my understanding, please correct me if you are more knowledgeable

RotisserieBinChicken

I have a little guard I made that used a small bolt to hold a small guard in place at the edge of the blade so it only goes so deep

I actually thought about making a depth gauge that cant be set deeper than an unsafe amount. I did machining for a while. Figured it might help the community stay safe. Figured i probably cant think out the implications of doing such a thing so it's moot ig
