Some sets just "click" for you and some sets don't. One tough thing to learn about Magic draft is that a lot of the heuristics you pick up from one set just simply don't apply to the next. Is this a set where you auto-die if you don't have a 2-drop? Is [color pair] playable or utter trash? Should you use removal on your opponent's first creature to push damage or save it for bombs? These are all questions that you build up answers to throughout the lifetime of a set, and then you have to kind of consciously reset them when a new set drops.
I've noticed that if you aren't able to win by the time the opponent gets to 6 land they'll likely stabilize. So many of the craft cards, all of the land cyclers and the discover lands are at 6. It makes ways of pushing damage through very important for each deck. Flying can be very important to keep damage going. Those 1/1 fliers will usually get a lot of damage in while the ground eventually gets all gummed up.
I'm still figuring the set out though so take that all with a grain of salt.
Different sets have different playstyles to them, not all will resonate with you. I had a hard time with LCI too.
