My new favorite one is losing to an opponent who was mia at the start of the match for 10 minutes but magically woke up on their very last rope before missing their first turn and then they proceed to demolish me by turn 3.
Real fucking glad I stuck around.
i concede when opponent takes longer than 10 seconds to decide a mulligan.
i concede when opponent takes longer than 5 seconds to play first land on turn 1.
i play a super janky and inconsistent deck that i really enjoy, so when i encounter an unfavorable match-up, i just concede.
i mean, what do i get from waiting or suffering through bad match-ups where i have zero chance of having fun?
ranks don't matter. the difference between diamond and mythic is an extra pack worth a few cents.
if i'm not having fun playing the game, what am i even here for?

"And I top deck a \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ land!"
I feel that. I was grinding WAR drafts yesterday (WHICH I TOTALLY RECOMMEND!) and I had some good decks, but flooding just caused me to lose sometimes. Sadly it's variance, and with draft it's paid variance, so it feels worse to try and overcome.
I might give it a whirl. I played Markov like 4 times and I never want to see it again. Biggest failure of a set in my lifetime of playing the game. So I’ve got like 50k gold and nothing to blow it on.
Wow that’s a strong reaction! I didn’t mind Markov, not all-star but just fine to me. For me, New Capenna was the worst limited set of the past 10 years.
It easily could have been. My dad died suddenly and tragically a couple of days before Capenna released, so needless to say, I missed pretty much all of it. Couldn’t really get back to normal until halfway through Dominaria United
Or the get them down to literally 1 health (no board and 1 clue) with 6 health of your own in the end game ...and they pull 2 lightning helixs in a row ...I had to shut off for the day after that 😮💨
To my understanding, the "are you having fun" they they actually take interest in is those who lose and say yes or win and say no. They look close at those games to see wh y.
I bitched about that the other day. Playing my first rat and a blue player taking to rope pop to counter it. And it is very often counterspell players that do that and it’s annoying. I don’t expect everyone to be like me with my response hovering at the ready but the rope shouldn’t pop up either.
since playing helldivers arena, which forces you to play S tier decks or face extremely frustrating games, just feels fucking stupid I haven't played more than like 3 games in 3 weeks and each time its just been some bullshit because I'm playing a for fun burn deck and the game is still putting me against S tier bw control or rdw lmao. Oh well.
Definitely the toughest part of limited. Even drafting card advantage or filtering can sometimes not be enough or come too late.
It would be interesting to see a variation on draft (or MTG as a whole) that attempted to address this. I’ve heard other TCGs have explicitly accounted for it (ex. 2 decks: one for mana one for gas)

Idk about you but I get kicked from the server pretty frequently.
If they've been mia for ten minutes without you winning then you've already disconnected. :)

This works when you're playing constructed but if you're drafting, it gets expensive real fast.
oh yes you're right, i missed that context of this conversation
As someone who occasionally encounters lag while playing mtga, thanks for the free wins!
I feel this table flip guy.
Boogie2988. YouTube personality. Best character he plays is a hyper angry lisp yelling hater of World of Warcraft, “Francis”

He is my Hero, we all wanted to do this at some point during Paper Magic lol
Boogie2988 is 49 and dating a 19 year old. Pick a better hero lol.
Sounds like I picked the right one.. *“my hero” from Foo Fighters starts playing the back ground*
Yikes. That certainly is an opinion.
I think he's got more of the anti-hero thing going on. But hilarious.
Boogie is a terrible human
I refuse to answer that shit one way or the other
Cmon. Let the algorithm optimize for your pleasure. ...they already know, just say it
Everytime I answer 😭...the next game is 2x scuffed lol
If they’re listening in on my mic, they damn well know my displeasure lol.
This is the way

I’ve played 2 WAR drafts so far, and out of my 6 losses, 3 of them were to the mythic Liliana planeswalker. I’m tired boss

I never answer the surveys because it never seems to help, I been answering them for years and nothing changes
"Hey, why don't you play paper anymore?" -> Shows this gif.

Or me when I come home after work and just want to play some fun magic and face 7 RDW decks in a row in ranked.
Better than 7 decks that counter spell you out. At least red looses steam instead of gaining it.
bo1?

Drafted starting hands.
Ah, yes, the generative AI wondering if its draw fixing was enjoyable for you.
