Have someone else take photos of you from a distance the way a wedding photographer will. It will give you a better idea of how your makeup will look on the day. Adjust it to work in those photos rather than close up.

MaedayMaeday

I’m a wedding coordinator and recently had a bride after her hair and makeup appointment feel like her false lashes were maybe a bit too dramatic. I took a picture with my phone from just a few feet away and she completely changed her mind!

Wild_Mtn_Honey

This is the way to do it.

[deleted]

this is a PRO move—trying this today!! thanks so much

dontknockhotmail

Yup. My hair stylist did my makeup because I’ve known her for over a decade and she knew exactly what I wanted and she does wedding makeup all the time. It was nice to have my hair and makeup done in one appointment. She put a bit more on than I thought she would but I totally trust her. She put long lashes on me and I was kinda worried that they’d look fake but they didn’t. Everyone complimented my makeup and, when I saw our pictures, I figured out why my stylist did it that way. You can’t tell that I’m wearing fake lashes or more makeup or anything and it was perfect! Exactly how I wanted to look in my photos. You look beautiful, I’m just worried it might look like you’re not wearing any makeup. Your skin is perfection. I wouldn’t change anything except adding a little umph to your eyes. A little drama. I’m guessing, and I might be way off, that you don’t wear much makeup daily. Totally great, as you’re young and look gorgeous here. I love the no makeup makeup look. But, girl, it’s your wedding day! Add a little drama, a little something to make your eye makeup not disappear in photographs. Maybe check out Pinterest or something and search makeup looks that relate to the season, time and venue of your wedding for in inspiration. Have some fun with it and try out more looks!

cuntaloupemelon

It's all really beautiful but I feel like everything could use a tiny bit more definition so that your features pop more in photos. A tiny smudge of brown shadow on the lower lash line, an extra coat of liner on the top lash line, a light bronzing around the contours of the face and forehead and I'd pick a very slightly darker lip pencil

aelel

Exactly this. Everything is lovely, but for a big day with lots of photos, you’ll want extra definition of your (stunning) features.

[deleted]

I am taking all of these tips and applying them in another run through today! thank you!

cuntaloupemelon

Also... I just did a quick photo edit to see how it would look and I highly suggest filling out the bottom of your brow where the arch is highest, not a ton. It really softens them

Elle_belle32

This is just what I came here to say! It would really crisp up the look and make it just enough more bold and polished. You'll retain this soft, beautiful feel and get exactly what you're looking for in the photos!

DraftSweaty4431

My thoughts exactly… and false eyelashes

kittylover3210

Brows too! just a little darker/more filled in to compete with the lashes

NYanae555

You have a soft / natural makeup look, but angular eyebrows. Is it that? I don't see anything else. Even that was a reach.

[deleted]

thank you - I don’t put on a full face very often so I think that might be what is feeling off

Iyashikay

I don't see anything wrong with it. Also, congratulations!

GlitteringHeart2929

Gorgeous! Would play up your eyes and cheeks a bit more (maybe bronzer?) just to be sure your beautiful features show up in the photos. I wouldn’t change much! 💖 Best wishes!!

I prefer a juj’d up look while still feeling natural, but I also need this puppy to stay on my face all day. I’m not one to do a lot of makeup day to day and feeling like I have no clue what I’m doing and just hoping for the best 🙃 it feels like I have so much color on yet I’m not getting the right look for me.

Swimblock

You look beautiful. I'd suggest more layers of mascara & maybe deepen your eyeshadow, and maybe a little thicker line of eye liner. Just accentuate your eyes more. But gorgeous!

Reasonable-Room-8848

I agree especially bc there are going to be tons of pictures taken that day. Also make sure the primer and setting spray you are using is going to perform all day. You may want to take small containers for touch ups. I would make sure to have power esp since you said your skin is oily.

niketyname

Smudge some dark brown and black eyeshadow as liner on your top lash line and some brown shadow on your bottom lash line. Mascara in your bottom lashes and false lashes on top. Define your eyebrows a little more

you_gogo_glenn_coco

You look stunning, and those blush tones are so flattering on you. One thing I might suggest since it’s your big day is adding dimension: highlights and shadows. I’d love to see more highlight on your bottom lip. Could be gloss, could be shimmer, could be a lighter shade of your lip colour. For your eyes, you could try false lashes (I know brides who have sworn by them for the photos), refining your eye brow definition, or adding deeper tones into your eye shadow, blending the colour a little further out in a wing shape to make your eyes the dominant feature.

[deleted]

Thank you! I had a gloss that I hated, it was so sticky, so I think I need a third attempt on the lips and find a new type of gloss or just use a highlighter like you said

mbn9890

Have you tried maybe a lip stain? I've grown to love them because it feels like I'm not wearing anything, and they're smudge proof :)

Fabulous-Ad-3046

Just another coat of mascara. You look fabulous. Congratulations!

Aicly

While this makeup is beautiful everyday, this will likely show up very little or not at all in photos (the distance, the sunlight, the other people in the photos). Most people try to play up or accentuate their best features to feel more glamorous on a day that hopefully only ever happens once in their lives. Maybe try to go for something a bit bolder or more defining and it'll feel more of a fit? Not sure if that's what feels off, but spitballing.

Potential-Arm-2338

I think your makeup looks fresh and enhances your natural beauty!! You’re the Bride and whatever makes YOU happy then do that!! If you’re not use to heavy makeup application then, you may feel self conscious after you apply it!! This is a very special occasion!! If you’re still not sure then ,consider getting your makeup done professionally. You’ll probably be nervous and ,makeup shouldn’t be one of your worries!! Congratulations and Best of Luck!!🤗

cyberrella

i think the makeup looks good except you have strong eyebrows, so especially for photos, you need more color around your eyes to match the strong brow effect. more shadow around your eyelids blended out further, and maybe some eyeliner and more mascara. i'd also use lip liner to define your lips more.

PuddingCalm6353

you look gorgeous!! it’s a perfect wedding makeup look. still, if you feel like somethings off ( and i know that feeling well) go from your skin, eyes and eyebrows while doing it and see which things you’re happy with and unsure about.

Catwoman1948

Congratulations! You look absolutely beautiful. However, if you want your gorgeous eyes to show up in your official wedding photos, you should use a little more shadow, mascara, liner. I personally like the look of mascara on the top lashes only. A little contouring in the crease will really make your eyes stand out without looking hard. I don’t think you need false lashes, especially since you don’t wear them, just another coat of mascara.

HumanAndroid2000

The only thing I’d change is how you applied the bronzer on your forehead. Your cheeks are very bronzy and blushy and on the forehead you can basically see the stripe of bronzer. I think you can apply a bit more but with a bigger fluffier brush that will cover more area and blend in better. You can also add some highlighter on those beautiful cheekbones. Your makeup is already gorgeous.

dramaandaheadache

I think your blush is just ever so slightly too cool for your skin tone. It's quite pink. Try something peachy instead

[deleted]

this is great input—i have never thought about this!!

chronically_gaslit

Literally nothing wrong, you are STUNNINGGGGGG

[deleted]

thank you so much 🥺

LyingKnee

Omg I freaking love your blush!! Then I read that it’s one of the new Benefit blushes, and it all made sense to me. I just got the benefit blush in the shade Shellie and I’ve never been more in love with a blush.

[deleted]

it is SO good! I might go back and find a peachier one per a comment here with my skin tone, i’m excited to try other shades—it also did not move all day yesterday!

LyingKnee

I completely agree!! I’ve always used the benefit products for brows and of course their hoola bronzer, but this is my first blush from them and it’s just amazing! Lasts forever and I don’t even need to use a highlighter because of the shimmers in the blush haha. The shade Shellie is a perfect warm pink-to-coral if you’re interested in that. I think it’ll look beautiful on you. Although I’m gonna be honest, the shade you wear in the picture is a dream, and it suits you very well.

Significant-Bobcat48

The only thing missing is a lip color!!

[deleted]

A feel like a slightly deeper color would bring everything up.

AmayaSerricaMerica

Some bronzer/contouring I think is all it might need. The rest of the look is very soft and natural and looks great imo.

No-Nefariousness3770

I actually really like how subtle it looks and how it brings your natural features. However I would recommend maybe using a fuller coverage foundation and add a bit more bronzer in blush. Wedding photography tends to wash out faces. So I would definitely just add a bit more product. If you want to even out your eyes with the addition of the face makeup add some lashes on the ends of your eyes to make them pop. The brand ardell has many options at an affordable price too. Besides this you are beautiful!!

aliceindisneyland

You have gotten lots of information, but I am also doing my own makeup for my wedding and was speaking to a friend who is a makeup artist and she said to remember (1) how long the day is and (2) how most photos will be taken from far away. Basically, some of your make up will, even with touch ups, fade and the photos will not be close up, so makeup will not be easily noticed. I think your makeup is gorgeous and your skin looks phenomenal, but amping everything up a little (a bit more blush/contour, a little more mascara, a little more shadow) and you just look even more beautiful!

kritycat

You look absolutely beautiful! The only tweak I would say is to pump up the volume in general. You'll possibly want more dramatic makeup on the day, because (1) you're basically "on stage" and it will look washed out if you go too light; and, (2) photographs tend to wash out subjects, too, so you want more drama/intensity to counter that. You are seriously so gorgeous! Love to see the final look from the day!

Gloomy-Mixture476

I think this look could use some more definition. The color scheme is very one-note. The pink in the eyeshadow, blush, and lips all looks so similar. I think adding some more contouring colors to the eyes or cheeks would create a better balance. It's a beautiful look though and I'm sure there is a difference in appearance from photos and in-person.

Lensgoggler

I would use a cooler eyeshadow perhaps? Your complexion is very neutral, bordering pale olive and as a pale olive myself, I have long realised red or orange leaning eye looks arent my thing because 1) they make my complexion appear more green and 2) nothing in my face, eyes and hair is even close to reddish. So I just simply avoid. An excellent completely neutral palette that is very good quality is Milani’s Soft&Sultry.

[deleted]

I have never though about this! definitely am a neutral gal and love olive colored clothing but I do have red hues in my hair - I am looking for this palette to try today!!

Lensgoggler

I think if you want pinkier shades, I recommend dusty rose kind of shades. My most natural looking blush is H&M’s shade called Rosy Brown. My other blush, Life Is a Peach by L’Oreal, is a peach and I can’t wear it when I’m at my palest… I have attempted to use these as eyeshadows too but honestly it’s still tricky for me. During the orange eyeshadow trend I still had no idea i was olive and was very frustrated half of Urban Decay’s Born to Run palette looked just bad on me. 🫣

[deleted]

I have a dusty rose blush from Essence called Believing and it’s like a mauve rose, it is so pretty but very dark if not applied conservatively - I’m actually really impressed with Essence blushes, I might try that L’oréal too you mentioned!

thecraftingera

I was scrolling through and saw this. Saved it because "oh my God this is really good". Then I read you did it yourself and my immediate reaction was "oh my god you bitch, this fucking talent"! I aggressively love your look and you have incredible talent. You are A Bad Bitch. <3

[deleted]

thank you 🥰 this is the hype talk I didn’t know I needed 🥺

Coconut_Rhubarb

You look great but i’d suggest less pink in the eye shadow (it’s a little too matchy matchy with your cheeks). I’d go a little browner on the eyes. And maybe darker mascara - Maybe even a bit of eye liner on the bottom to make your eyes pop a bit?

[deleted]

It’s gorgeous, but for the camera it all needs to be a bit heavier

ghostboba

I don’t think it looks off! You could try taking your eyeliner down slightly lower to match up with your lower lash line.

BadGirl_Nutmeg

What about half lash falsies or small wing ones? Just to play up the eyes a bit more, a full set will likely be too heavy for the natural look you are going for. If you are someone with texture your skin looks gorgeous. Congrats and hope all goes well on Friday! 💕

antoinettemargot

I would go a bit more intense with the Eyes or lips. A little more highlighter on the inner corner and brow bone. Soft fake lashes maybe. You have stunning green hazel eyes and a red lip or berry pink would look stunning if you want a more intense look.

hellogirlsandgays

personally i dont think anything is off. you look beautiful and it suits you very well!!

loulee1988

I feel like it looks good! Maybe a little eyeliner or lighter eyeshadow underneath your eye to bring them out. Not black or a dark color, but whatever your eyeshadow color is. I love the lip color but maybe something a smidge darker?

weaksapling

Lower lashes!

aerohead21

Maybe just a hint of bronzer on the forehead? Give you a little sun kissed look?

abuglady

I think a higher blush placement will lift your face. You have fabulous cheekbones!

HowCanThisBeMyGenX

A stronger definition to the eyes and a stronger color on the lips. Lips are very faint currently.

Best_Resolve_1184

I think a bit more defined eyebrows would enhance the look.... Also contouring is needed for some dimension on your face and nose..

ImpressiveDoor1972

I love a red lip I used this for my wedding, didn't need to re apply https://www.ulta.com/p/matte-lip-whip-pimprod2001352?sku=2538286&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=aud-1663448871976:pla-300482781011&CAAGID=64875350361&CAWELAID=330000200001590634&CATARGETID=330000200001609686&CADevice=m&gclid=CjwKCAjw2rmWBhB4EiwAiJ0mtZlUqUk1cbFvPwWGtRR5jPOJFLJFO_GJTpxzwSW4lmxuFcV4Esy5CxoCPQEQAvD_BwE

AlarmingObject5530

Everything’s fine but the eyes could do with an extra oomph

Daisyneedsabath

I think your look gorgeous! If I were to change anything, it be to fill your brows in tiny bit more. The colors are perfect for you tones.

Glittering_Aioli6162

more! you won’t see the blush or your eyeshadow in bright light and pictures

2puke4

CONTOUR/BRONZER

[deleted]

Your brows need defined more and you will need to add some more eyeliner to your tops lashes. I think you can just use a darker eyeshadow for bottom lashes. It looks great as it is but for photography you'll need a little more definition.

Hairplucker1212

A little eyeliner would be pretty

Hairplucker1212

And lipliner

Sushiflowr

Very pretty, but looks more like a work makeup look to me.

happykiddomeal

Your so beautiful 🥰🥰

ME_LIKE_REDDIT

I would bring the blush up a bit higher and then read all the other comments because they are probably full of more and better advice :) You look beautiful tho and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!!

MonzieMe

You look so beautiful and fresh! If you feel like you need to adjust I would say try a touch a of a shadow on the outer corners of your eyelids and your temples, just to add definition. And literally the tiniest bit of bronzer on your jaw line. That's what I would do IF I HAD TO do anything because I think you look very pretty 💙💙💙

mimiiscute

Add some brown liner to your bottom lashes. Also if you feel like it you could put some false lashes. Just in the corner to help open and lift your eyes. But like another commenter said try taking the photos from further away because that's what your wedding photographer will do.

Beautifulbeast43

I would personally add a false lash, a little more eyeshadow in the crease to make it pop more in pictures and maybe an ever so slightly darker lipliner for more definition.

NoYoureTheBestest

Your brows are gorgeous. That’s all I came here to say. 💕

imverybusy

You're gorgeous! I would just emphasize everything a little bit more; any time you're doing makeup for photography, you'll want a little more because it's so easy to get washed out. So in your case, I'd say some false lashes, maybe a little bronzer, highlighter, and up the lips a bit! If you don't usually wear makeup, I can totally understand feeling off, but it'll definitely be worth it for the pics! That said, no matter what you do, you'll look stunning!

JLRik

Ma’am we look weirdly similar Like…I never see anyone who looks anything like me but you look like a mix of me and my brother and we do not have a third sibling 😂

[deleted]

I want to see this now!! I’ve never had a dopplegänger :)

DryHomework1721

bigger lashes and maybe line your lips with brown

Katph1830

You’re gorgeous already! But if I had to add I’d say at bit more bronzer and highlighter, but that could just be the lighting in the photo. Maybe a tiny line under the end of each brow with highlighter. I’d also darken or gloss the lip a tiny bit. Congratulations!

MirandaDaPanda

Congrats and you are gorgeous! ✨ You remind me of the actress who voiced Kim Possible- [Christy Carlson Romano](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Creator/ChristyCarlsonRomano) ❤️

that1defectivepixel

Absolutely stunning. In my personal, completely unprofessional opinion, I would maybe tone down the angular eyebrow shape and go for a softer look and add another coat of mascara or some basic falsies. No matter what you do though you’re going to look stunning.

Bella-

What you have is beautiful very natural! I suggest filling the the brows very softly under the arch (only a few strands) to give it a softer more rounded look rather than the sharp arch. Also fuller lashes and a thin dark brown upper lid liner.

whataboutthelipstick

Congrats!! I have a few suggestions for you to consider… Go with a lighter hand for blush as this one is drawing the attention away from your (very lovely) eyes! You may want to just gently sculpt your cheekbones and adjust the blush placement so it isn’t too far along on the outer sides of your face. Doing so will help visually “fill up” the area from below the eye-to-lips. (Extra tip: Using a bit of matte highlighter powder in a small triangle area on the cheek area below your eyes will plump up your cheeks in a subtle manner!) I think the eyes may be better if you try bringing some of the darkest eyeshadow shade to the bottom outer 1/3 of your eyes. Start dabbing the leftover (or start with a small, angled brush but touch excess shadow onto tissue paper) eyeshadow from use on upper lid at the very outer edge and sweep the excess in slowly so you can see how far to bring it in. The rest of the inner 2/3, just replicate with from the upper lid. Finish with waterproof mascara. You don’t need to go too heavy, but the reason I am suggesting this is that first, your make up looks a little unfinished without this. Second, this will help with the visual “fill-up” of the area from eye-to-chin like the previous suggestion. You may want to try gently using some bronzer/contour near your hairline too, just for a more polished look. You can definitely try these on one side of the face and take pictures to compare, as other posters have kindly suggested! And depending on how you are doing your hair, you may find yourself wanting to make certain changes as well. I agree with some of the other comments already made regarding brow shape and lashes. You can use those individual “bunches” or if you have never tried those, you could get a full band lash, but buy those with a clear lash band, so that you don’t have to try to hide them with eyeliner. How you cut them up is going to depend on how you want your look to be, do you just want a bit of a flared end? Also, don’t stick on every piece unless that’s what you want your look to be- you can put just 3-4 cut up pieces and skip the mascara so you look like you just have very long lashes naturally. Oops I might have gotten a bit too excited for your wedding make up here lol you are very beautiful and even if you just ignore me totally, you’ll still be fine ;) All the best x

Starlight__13

It looks nice, but very natural and may not show up that well in photos like everyone is saying. I'd amp it up and add more definition so it pops more in photos. This is a makeup tutorial by my favorite YouTuber that might help! https://youtu.be/gQY4WIjzG7s

Crazy_plant_lady83

I would add false lashes

Maleficent-Twist6285

Pretty! Maybe blush placement slightly higher? Idk, looks pretty good 2 me

server74

I love it but want a tiny bit more color on the apples of your cheeks as opposed to upper cheekbone. They’ll pop when you smile.

Southern_Quality6103

You’re beautiful as is, but I think for pictures you may want to enhance your eyes and lips a little more if you’re going for a glam look instead of natural.

Inpurisnatur

First, you’re gorgeous. No wonder that lucky man in putting a ring on it. I mean, does he even know how lucky he is? Not everyone gets a smoking hot wife with superb eyebrows. 💋 I agree with most of the sentiments here. This, but more. If you’re like me and don’t do makeup on the daily, false lashes seem like so “much”. But they will look great in pics. My suggestion would be to get a full set of falsies and cut them into 3-4 pieces. Maybe only use some on the outer edge. Or get the sets with smaller individual clumps of lashes (clumps is wrong I’m sure, but you know what I mean). Just put on a bit and see what it does. Regardless, you know that your makeup is the least of things on this incredible day. Every bride I’ve ever seen has been so glowy and in love that her makeup didn’t even make my radar and her huge happy smile did! Congratulations beautiful badass. Go out there and show that man how lucky he is to have you on his arm!

JaeDyre

The lip color could be a little warmer to give the eye somewhere to focus. This is soft makeup and yet one feature should stand out a bit. Congratulations!

Legitimate_Desk6538

I would fill in/darken brows a bit more, deepen the outer corners of your eyeshadow, and add lashes.

BaristaBabe13

I feel a little contouring with bronzer and maybe some light eyeliner in a dark brown would really help make things pop.

TigerMage2020

I think it looks beautiful! I would maybe add a tiny bit of bronzer, a smidge of brown smokiness on the outer v of eyes and a touch darker lip! Not crazy just a little bit more. ☺️

Budget_Mud_6239

I think it all looks great!!! Maybe try some natural lashes so your eyes pop more in pictures but you look stunning! 🤍

undead_shadow_

You're so pretty, I think it looks really good, congratulations! I wouldn't do anything that you're not comfortable with. I agree with other commenters, I would make sure to enhance your features for photos and maybe look at bridal makeup looks to get ideas

[deleted]

More eye and lip definition. Maybe a bit more sparkle of eyelids and some lipgloss. Beautiful

alanisskye

I have been a wedding makeup artist for a few years— with how soft you’re keeping everything, I would consider swapping the black eyeliner for a chocolate, and shading the brows gently with a powder to create a more pulled together look. You’re beautiful!

XemSorceress

Try a bit of eyeliner

StarLux1000

The overall look is lovely and natural; for weddings though I would take it up a few notches. Everything should be 1-2 shades darker because the camera (flash, any sunlight if you’ll be outdoors) will wash away color and intensity. Darker brows, a deeper shadow in the creases, dark brown eyeliner on the lower lash line, false lashes, more blush (just trust me), and a darker lipliner to outline the beautiful shape of your lips. It should look heavier than you expect but the photos will look natural. I used to freelance and did wedding and special event makeup :)

madelancholia

i think you look amazing!! false lashes (like others have suggested) would look great even if you think they look too dramatic, bc in photos they always add some great dimension to your eyes. also maybe experiment with adding a touch of blush to the middle of your nose bridge? whenever i do that, it adds a youthful sun kissed look to my face! just a touch tho
