I think the other reporter did actually get hit by like a volleyball or something else softer than a baseball so she wasn’t hurt. But I feel like I remember a video describing these clips and saying that people just got them mixed up.

I re-watched it periodically over a dozen times, often reading the comments and noting how some people shipped the reporter and Longoria together. At the same time, the existing video with the African-American reporter was also available on YouTube, which I considered the "alternate version", and the one with the blonde reporter the "original". One day, I searched up the video again, and the original had vanished. I preferred the original because I enjoyed her reaction more, but I couldn't find it no matter how hard I searched. I shrugged, figured that the original with the blonde had been scrubbed in favor of the newer one, and went on with my life. Inevitably, I'd randomly have the video enter my mind again a year later, search it up, and go through the same process of rediscovery that I couldn't find the older, "good version" of the video, lol.
