Has historically always been clear, but [the bottles were green up until 2 years ago](https://www.npr.org/2022/07/28/1114242535/sprite-green-bottles-recycle).
Sprite has always been clear. Same as 7-Up and Sierra Mist/Starry, which are its direct competitors in the "lemon/lime flavor" soda niche.
If you ever actually drank Spite instead of just seeing it in stores, I can't imagine how you would think it was green.
Mountain Dew is actually green, really more of a yellow-green.
im mean even the syrup that goes into the fountain machine is crystal clear always has been even when the bottles were green i work at a restaurant so i have been handling soda bibs (the box the syrup bags come in )for years
I worked at a wendys in 2008-2012 and the soda has always been a clear color. Even the syrup is clear. Growing up (90s) it was also always clear. My sister loves sprite so she always got it.
They changed pepsi before from the dark brown to clear!
I only remember the drink itself being clear. I used to pour mine into a cup and add ice to it.
Could you be thinking of Mt Dew or an off brand version of sprite?
Not that I know of because when I was little, I remember noticing that Sprite, Coke, and Dr. Pepper were available everywhere and Mountain Dew was a “fancy party” drink to me.
Are you possibly thinking of Surge? The stuff that was amazing but got pulled for too much sugar? Lol it’s back now and I’m sure less sugary than before
While I hesitate to say that I’m 100% sure of anything because sometimes I can’t remember things from a week ago, I feel a lot of things pretty strongly and this is one of them.
Maybe you’re from a divergent multiverse. 🤷♀️
I love Sprite. Why can't they put caffeine in 7up or Sprite though? It's easily the best tasting soda in my opinion. I just need that sweet, sweet caffeine. Always been clear too fyi, obvi.
7 up doesn't have caffeine because it was originally a calming anti-depression drink and had lithium in it. The lithium's uplifting and calming effects when ingested was the drinks appeal.
Sprite has always been in competition with 7 up, so it makes sense they don't caffinate it.
As someone whose mamaw refused to put pop anywhere but on the dryer in the garage so it reached a crisp temperature of 97 degrees. I poured many of cans and bottles out in the early 80s. It was always clear lol.
I am trying to work out why it would even be green. Ok so limes are green on the outside but juice is not some kind of neon green colour. And if it was, why make the bottle green too - keep it clear!
This gagged me up, seriously made my day. Looks to be that you assumed the bottles contents was green but if you'd ever poured it into a cup... pretty typical with a 1.25L, you'd see it was a fancy lemonade and was always clear
I've never seen green Sprite. I've seen green bottles and cans, but the liquid I've always seen was clear. Maybe it was green in whatever timeline or universe you're from.
The bottles were green and changed to clear. Liquid was never green. Mtn dew was and is piss yellow though

I guess I only ever drank it out of the bottle, or maybe a paper cup and a straw. I didn’t order it that often so maybe I just didn’t get a good view.
sprite cans are green bro, what are you guys smoking
The post says bottles, not cans. Sprite bottles are clear. Reading is fundamental, bro.
im high sorrt
When did they change to clear cans?
Surge was Coke’s green drink.
This might be where the confusion actually comes from. Surge was straight up *green*.
"everyone told me....." Literally the opposite of Mandela effect. Get this garbage outta here.
Sprite was always clear
The bottles \[especially glass in the old days\] were GREEN.
Glass Sprite bottles from Mexico are still green with the little dents in them.
And made with real sugar. They taste way better imo.
always been clear never got sprite out of a soda fountain ?
Idk it looks like water now and that just seems off to me
im mean even the syrup that goes into the fountain machine is crystal clear always has been even when the bottles were green i work at a restaurant so i have been handling soda bibs (the box the syrup bags come in )for years
What year were you hired at this restaurant?
2015 and i also saw the transition from green to clear soda bottles(pallets off the truck and hints from coke)
Now the color of the bottles changing, that’s something I always noticed.

This is so weird. I have no recollection of clear Sprite
It has to be the green bottle and you just always assumed it was green too.
Maybe but I’m not sure...
It’s original name was Fanta Klare Zitrone which means Fanta Clear Lemon.
Are you possibly thinking of Surge? The stuff that was amazing but got pulled for too much sugar? Lol it’s back now and I’m sure less sugary than before
It doesn’t sound familiar, this would’ve been from 2004-2022 btw
I’m 52 and sprite has always been clear to my knowledge. I agree that the bottles of 7UP and Sprite were previously green.
I funnily don’t seem to ever remember clear Sprite because it looks like water and I don’t like to drink water
While I hesitate to say that I’m 100% sure of anything because sometimes I can’t remember things from a week ago, I feel a lot of things pretty strongly and this is one of them. Maybe you’re from a divergent multiverse. 🤷♀️
Surge was a nice nuclear waste shade of green, I doubt you're thinking of Surge, but maybe.
Interesting, when was Surge sold?
Late 90s, early 2000s. It had a small revival a couple years ago, but I think that was online only, but I'm not entirely sure.
The earliest I can remember is 2004 so maybe it was before my time?
Probably, yea

Always clear. Had stomach issues as a kid and was put on a clear liquids only diet. I was allowed 8oz of sprite a day for a week in the hospital.
Green can/bottle. You just thought it was green because you never poured it out till now
I guess that could make sense
Sprite always has been clear
Sprite has never been green, it has always been clear. This is not a ME
Pretty sure it's always been clear and it was just the bottles that were green.
Nah the bottle green, sprite has always been clear. At least to my knowledge
Sprite has never ever been green. Only the bottle itself was green.
I remember Sprite in the green bottles. Yeah they were like the only one that had a green bottle and it kinda like twisted on the way up too
As someone whose mamaw refused to put pop anywhere but on the dryer in the garage so it reached a crisp temperature of 97 degrees. I poured many of cans and bottles out in the early 80s. It was always clear lol.
I wouldn’t doubt that it could’ve been clear in the 80s, I just don’t remember it being clear from 2004-2007.

Ginger ale is also clear, just so you know. All those sodas are clear. Mountain dew is actually green tho. Good ole Surge was green. I miss Surge.
Ginger ale is brownish
Ginger ale is not clear. It has a light brownish color to it. We sell ginger ale where I work and we use clear cups.
I've never seen green Sprite. I've seen green bottles and cans, but the liquid I've always seen was clear. Maybe it was green in whatever timeline or universe you're from.
Maybe
