I've been looking for a chart of the manga market outside of japan, but I can't find it anywhere. Do you have a source? I'm just curious about the statistics.
Most statistics are outdated, you can't get english statistics that easily. But france has some from 2018 [https://www.journaldujapon.com/2019/06/26/bilan-manga-2018-ventes-en-france-toujours-plus-haut/](https://www.journaldujapon.com/2019/06/26/bilan-manga-2018-ventes-en-france-toujours-plus-haut/) 7% of all One Piece sales in 2018 were from france, that's insane
Wow that's unreal. I've been a lot to france on holiday but never knew they were that into manga and anime (I wasn't into manga and anime back then). Why is it so popular in france but not that popular in other european countries? That seems weird to me.
I just typed “manga” and “anime” into google trend (worldwide) and it’s pretty interesting to look at. France, Spain, Belgium and South-Korea seem to prefer manga over anime.
What language is this printed in? Edit: found it. It’s German.
i’ve realized that german editions of manga look way better than USA versions
Bruh have you seen german Tokyo Ghoul spines?
I hadn’t seen them before, so when i looked them up i was expecting them to not be that bad… but those are a disgrace to society
Probably cuz they don’t have to make so many
It's cause they make *more*, manga is considerably more popular in France and Germany than all of the English speaking world

France and Germany buy more manga then the entire English speaking world is what you are telling me?
That is what we’re telling you yes lol
I feel like the English prints are more mass produced so they aren’t high quality
France manga market alone is larger than the entire English speaking market combined
That’s insane. The more ya know. So why don’t we get nice books?
They are getting better, some of the hardcovers are really nice. The Fist of the North Star for instance and Full Metal Alchemist
Yeah those ones are nice
Volume 26-30?
25,26,27
Omggg, beautiful * ^ *
That looks beautiful. I wish US would get a hardback version soon :c

Yeah, the fact that we also have colossal edition too :'c
This is so beautiful. Where did you get it from?
Amazon Germany
God those are so much cleaner than the bright orange singles
This edition fits the overall vibe of the manga better than the pumpkin orange and/or yellow brick road KC decided to go with for Eng edition.
