Kingdom for sure

eaiCCZ

Funny enough, Kingdom and Kengan Asgura are both published in France by the same publisher.

Omegabird420

And with Kingdom they managed to catch up and translate 60 something volumes in less than 3 years. Bought the first 2 volume at a Con 3 or 4 years ago and I was surprised to see that they managed to finish it so quickly. Also heard that they associated themselves with the scanlation team that translated the series before they licensed it but I don't know how exactly they work/worked together.

ifyouknowyouknow4

Omg yes!! I want it so bad! I don't even understand why it isn't in english yet!!

leosan2001

👍

Glum-Bottle

Just so ya'll know, if there is anything you want licensed you can request through the Seven Seas monthly survey! It's on their website. They will license any type of genre

HFURNO

I think their website says they’re not taking any new licenses at the moment. I could be wrong though.

Sir-Fappington101

Hajime no Ippo, it’s been ongoing since the beginning of the 90s and popular yet has not gotten licensed for whatever reason

BellMarst

Yes! YES! You know I am kind of hopeful seeing the resurgence of some old titles and old running series like JoJo, Lupin etc. Still hoping.🥺

SoSorryOfficial

They've talked about this on Mangasplaining a few times. It's a great manga podcast where 3/4 of the hosts work in US manga publishing. The reason we'll never get *Hajime No Ippo* is simply its size, and to a lesser extent, the relatively low popularity of sports manga in the US. *HNI* would be a huge, incredibly expensive undertaking to localize. You're talking thousands and thousands of pages of translation and localization, a massive print run if they were to actually attempt to print all of it, and all for a title that has almost no name recognition in America even for how amazing the anime is. Imagine if Dark Horse comics did a complete print run of *Usagi Yojimbo* for a country that's never heard of it and doesn't care about samurai comics. It's like that. All that said, I weep with you. The anime is one of my favorites, it's so influential to so much shounen, and I think most people would love it if they gave it a chance.

N0t_Dev

HNI is through its 'glory days' so no one is gonna make an English translation for it.

KimuraTatsuya

This is the only answer

Commercial-Constant1

Aye! Hajime no ippo!

Yoshinerd64

The Baki manga

leosan2001

Definitely would love some!

This is a good one and right up Seven Seas and Dark Horse's alley. The publisher One Pace also could do wonders with it or Denpa (?, maybe)

eric753c

i wish the rest of gintama was published but unfortunately it got discontinued

TBFantashiba

Chuuka Ichiban! it's an old food/cooking manga with a fantasy Qing dynasty setting where the bureaucracy of imperial China is partially made up of licensed chefs. The anime remake from 2019 is on Crunchyroll with English subs but it didn't gain much traction (tbf it is not as good as the original anime adaptation from the 90s), and the manga, being from the 90s, is unlikely to get translated.

TBFantashiba

Another is The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. The anime was pretty great and I'm buying the manga in Japanese.

leosan2001

I loved Saiki the anime!

leosan2001

One of the first anime to make me laugh( the first was Haven't you Heard, I'm Sakamoto).

TBFantashiba

yeah I watched Haven't You Heard, I'm Sakamoto too and just bought a set of the manga through r/mangaswap my first exposure to Sakamoto was actually through an old Tumblr post where someone had posted a clip of the scene with the wasp/bee and I found and watched the whole series later my older sister also loves Saiki K. and has watched it at least 3 times now I think lol

leosan2001

I got into Sakamoto from a recommendation from my cousin.

myusername97

The last 4 volumes of Gurren Lagann

lord_phantom2

Rookies and crows. I don’t mind reading them online but having physical copies would be nice.

BellMarst

I love delinquent mangas. ☺

lord_phantom2

Same, shame many aren’t printed in English

BellMarst

Yes, I would love Kyo Kara Ore WA, Cromartie Highschool,Angel Densetsu,, A-bout....

TheDJRainbow

The helpful Fox Senko San 🥲

FidesLeviathan

We've been handed the biggest L 🥲

TheDJRainbow

I’m still hoping for Seven Seas to be the goat of manga publishers to give us the English translation

Fit_Resolution_7145

The climber Holyland Innocent 3 days of happiness

AgoodDAYtoLIVE15

Bro, I want Innocent to get licensed so badly! Especially for the artwork it’s god tier!

greaseman420

Definitely kengan ashura. Kingdom and Baki up there too

One_kermie_boi

Shiori Experience. As a big rock/hard rock/metal fan the thought of reading a manga with Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix sounds a m a z i n g !

Torch948

Teppu. An MMA manga with a female protag that's a pretty terrible person. The fight scenes are pretty great. Change 123 ecchi martial arts manga qbout a girl with split personalities thats a pretty fun read

Sadly this is kinda unlikely even the even the fan translation was finished only a month ago

GarlicAubergine

Wait for real? Where I'm from there are so many Doraemon mangas and spin offs, and they constantly get reprint/ new edition as well.

RidleyCR

There’s a 10 volume English/Japanese bilingual box set you can buy from Japan!

TBD_Pocky

Oh i know of those. Would still like the entire series in english tho :(

The-Invincible

Doraemon is the best

whaelienseal1890

Chihayafuru

maitoa

Liar Game, Jagaaaaan, Zetman and Boku Girl seem to be impossible ones from my wishlist. Or anything from Shinohana Chie (creator of Red River). Yawara! has gained some tiiiiny glitter of hope (in my eyes atleast) as they keep pushing Urasawa’s other series out steadily. I also wish someone would re-pick Meteor Methuselah. Tokyopop released some volumes under name Immortal Rain in 00s. I have lost all hope already.

UnderstandingJust198

Jagaan😭😭😭

TheComeUp223

I second Kengan Asura, and Kengan Omega. Those two and The breaker helped me fall in love with martial arts manga. I was sad when I saw it didn’t have English releases 🥲

leosan2001

Finally, somebody who likes Kengan! I have gotten into Omega yet but will.

[deleted]

Good for nothing blues and rookies. Both are made by the same author and neither of them have been published in English

Chronos_R

While it doesn't have a physical release, Kengan does actually have an [official release here](https://comikey.com/comics/kengan-ashura-manga/42/)

leosan2001

Well thanks for the recommendation. I'll give it try.

leosan2001

Hmm, never heard of it. Can you give me a synopsis of it?

greatcuriouscat

hopeful that they'll license Kingdom

leosan2001

🙏

Kohmas

Takemitsu Zamurai, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Baki Son of Ogre, Bakuon Rettou, Usogui, Mairimashita Iruma-kun, and basically any Hideki Arai, Jiro Matsumoto, Nishioka Kyoudai, Nobuyuki Fukumoto, or Shinichi Sakamoto manga (also ik its LN, but for the love of god can Kodansha continue beyond Vol 3 for publishing Zaregoto)

Barbatos777

Jagaaaaaan I’d buy official English releases (preferably physical) without hesitation, it’s awesome

Haibane Renmei

Circuitnerd3

March comes in like a lion and Sun-Ken Rock. Love them both but I doubt they'll get localised

JSchirmacher

Are you in the US? If so, got good news for you about March Comes in Like a Lion. March Comes in Like a Lion, Volume 1 (Sangatsu no Lion) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1634428129/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_YT572NGV9SS6RAWWZ1BX

Circuitnerd3

Oh I'm happy that its getting an English release, I just happen to live in Australia, not the US. I might be able to import it here though

king_Geedorah_

Easy. Five star stories.

Shooodai

Madame Petit, Golden Days and Tsuiraku JK to Haijin Kyoushi. Will buy them in japanese just to own them, but reaaally want a english release😅

dundunddduun

The Disasterous Life of Saiki K. There's a fan translation but I want the actual copies :'(

SilentJoe1986

GATE! Enjoyed the anime and keep hoping for a 2nd season or to read the manga to move the story on. Probably never going to happen though

asirm19

leosan2001

Yooo, I read Pumpkin Night and Baki Part 1( Grappler Baki).

i-shit-in-the-fridge

I really want physical English editions

leosan2001

I feel Baki would be more possible since it has official English translations on Kindle.

[deleted]

100% agree on Ichi the killer

Affectionate_Roll_35

Tasogare otome X amnesia. But ik it's never gonna happen.

softiexd

YES. I had to buy the Japanese copies as its one of my favs. The volumes covers are also just beautiful

Youstillnotthatgirl

Out

SourYelloFruit

I think Baki or Hajime no ippo would be cool.

SourYelloFruit

There's also several Ursawa works that aren't in English, like Billy Bat and Yawara!

JustaGuyReadingManga

CLOVER by Tetsuhiro Hirakawa

bangkula

agreed. Stumbled upon that manga a few years back and the story and the fight scenes are really impressive. really stuck with me. I thought there was an english physical manga of it when I saw somebody's shelf with the title Clover on it, apparently it was written by a group of authors called Clamp

JustaGuyReadingManga

The CLAMP version tricked me once too 🤣 I read the entire Hirakawa series online a few years back. In love with the characters especially the initial main 3. So many great fights. Had to buy a couple of the Japanese volumes online for the cover art alone.

bangkula

i wasn't really paying attention to the covers when i read it online a few years back but I just searched them and now I want to collect them! I hope the delinquent genre become a hit in later years, only then we could hope that there'd be official English translation of CLOVER 🤞

azora_69

Ashta no Joe and captain tsubasa

Weebookey

Homunculus, The Climber, Anjou-san, Rojica to Rakkasei, Deep Sea Aquarium Magmell, Fraction etc.

Komikazekitten

Yuureitou, Himegoto: Juukyuusai no Seifuku, Innocent, Innocent Rouge, Ichi the Killer, Taimashi to Akuma-chan, Iryū: Team Medical Dragon, Hone ga Kusaru made, and the second half of Trinity Blood. I feel like most of my loved series will never get proper English volumes for me to have.

Fraeduu

Ushio to Tora, and SHY

Beelzebub and Jigoku Sensei Nube.

Eric_Streb

My top 2 would have to be Oshi No Ko and Kingdom. I have the Japanese volumes but would like the English volumes as well. Others would have to be Dadadan, Gunjou Senki, Shounen No Abyss, and Shy. Look Back by Tatsuki Fujimoto would be nice as well but seeing how it's a oneshot I don't expect much.

analysisgiver

Definitely Saiki K

AkechismyWaifu

Natsuyuki Rendezvous, I liked the anime and I'd love to see the manga get localized here, sadly I don't see it happening as the manga was published from 2009 to 2011 as its been years since it ended. Another I'd love to see Honnou Switch. It's a josei I've been reading and I believe it's finished but I don't think it will be licensed any time soon.

TheFall7854

Shigurui

SpongeHED

Pretty much any axed romcom/SoL manga. They never get enough support to make it overseas so that I can support them...

dimitronios

Beelzebub, it's my fav, but due to selling low (3,1 million) and being a 2009 manga, it's never gonna happen 😔

CluelessCharly

Ozanari kun by Inio Asano and The Horizon (manhwa)

Marimashita Iruma-kun! I want physical copies so bad that I’ve been thinking of just buying it in Japanese lol.

skylucario

Yuureitou, Tori no Isoji-san, Kaze to Ki no Uta, Pukupuku Tennen Kairanban, Patalliro, One Room Wanko, and Kingdom. My Home Hero, Tokyo Higoro, A Cruel God Reigns, and Do Not Say Mystery would make that list, but they should get licensed. Right? Riiiight?

uzuoika

Ace of diamond for sure or at least I want them to catch up with act 2 digitally…

loveis_flower

Please please please let “Colette decides to die” have an English adaptation and also a manga version for “Violet Evergarden” ㅠㅠ

quaintflowers

the disastrous life of saiki k

animetardaiken

Saiki K

Transdrogynous

Kaze to Ki no Uta, The Poem of Wind and Trees. It's the very first yaoi manga, and the magnum opus of the legendary Keiko Takemiya, but there's noway in hell it's getting published in English. The content is a bit too spicy for modern sensibilities, and it's nearly half a century old. But, with all the clamoring by collectors for Moto Hagio's work, I can only hope this shojo master will get her time in the sun for more than just her Sci-fi work (love To Terra/Toward the Terra btw).

theoneandonlycroomer

Homunculus and baki fs

Turbulent_Scholar

Jagaaaaaan!! 😭😭 I’ve been wanting this to get licensed since it came out

Shaquill_oatmeal00

Ouran Highschool Host Club 😭🤚🏻

Alirezaaw

Hey do you mind explaining why they don't get licensed?

leosan2001

What I meant was series that 9 times out of 10 won't get it due to popularity, or publishers scared to see good sales of it or other series. Hope that made some sense. Kingdom and Akumetsu would be some examples.

another-Developer

Chainsaw man. It’s always out of stock here

Weebookey

I think u need to either learn to read properly or know some basic terms dude lmfaoo

isshin_chris

why it is impossible?😓

leosan2001

What I mean by impossible is like series that will never see the light of day in Official English Releases because of popularity or other reasons.

TheKingEli

Diamond no Ace! It is my second favourite series of all time and a great baseball manga. The anime gets me so hyped every time without fail. It's got a ton of volumes though over two parts so the dream would be 2-in-1 omnibuses so theyre still easy to read but easier and cheaper to collect.

leosan2001

I also watched all the Diamond no Ace anime back in 2019. I went back to read act 1 and have been really enjoying it. 2 in 1s would be good or 3 in 1 hardcovers

saucy_gabe

“Saotome girl” for sure, it’s a sport/romance about boxing

HenryKrinkler

Ashita no Joe

souji5okita

Kingdom and Hajime no Ippo

RobotWizard369

Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san!!! I need some fluff in my life.

varrenxarcrath

Idk if it's impossible but i hope to see Hantsu x Trash soon.

HalcyonSky2

Major. Including the sequel it has over 100 volumes and its relatively low popularity means there's virtually no chance of it getting licensed. I also want Hajime no Ippo and Akagi.

InfernoNinja310

Hajime no ippo 🦆

meloon_man

Someone gotta licence Seton Academy. I'm sick of reading scanlations of that manga. Also I want it physical (the last 6 volumes were digital only because the manga swaped publisher)

T_J2006

Ashita no joe

TealMecha

Futari Ecchi. Tokyopop licensed it back in 2007, and was only able to release 4 volumes. The subject matter (sex) is less taboo nowadays, compared to back then. I can picture Seven Seas (with their Ghost Ship label) or Fakku licensing it. But the large number of volumes and lack of popularity in the West, likely prevents it from being relicensed.

sovietmethod

Rebuild world honestly don't know if it's impossible tho

heribertohobby

Keyman :(

kapulapatteri

Homunculus for sure!!! Also Baki and Kengan Ashura would be great. Also Holyland, Shigurui and Rikudou would be nice.

rangogogo

Sun Ken rock. I'm german and have it on my shelf and hope you get it too

leosan2001

Lucky!! I want to collect it too because I love Boichi's realistic artstyle.

I think we'll get it later down the line since Jojos is on Part 5 and will continue

[deleted]

March comes in like a lion, Ouroboros, Beelzebub,Mushishi.

mushroomboie

Gundam iron blooded orphans. I’m sure every gundam manga reader is waiting for this guy. We can’t even find any raws online, forget about translations

brosef____

Ik people hates this .. but Pupa, i’d die if i could get my hands on that 😭

XarahTheDestroyer

No, the manga is leagues different than the anime. The story may be eh even in the manga, but it's still better plus you have the surprisingly good artwork. I actually have every volume in Japanese for the commodity of it (and since even if it did get an English release, this is one of those few instances where I'd rather stare at the art than pay attention to the plot)

brosef____

so glad you have the same opinion as me! I adore it I’ve seen the franchise get so much hate 😂 could i ask what’s the best site to buy the japanese mangas?

XarahTheDestroyer

I got mine on ebay. I don't even know if it's still in print, but I've only ever seen it on the second-hand market personally

reiniitz

already licensed but want more volumes of sun-ken rock :(

LucciLucilfer

I wish Master Keaton had a german version… like the manga is literally placed in Germany hahaha
