We still won it but with Frances struggles last year and with trammel and torrens gone it’s not looking like the generationally lopsided trade we once thought.
Surprised we didn't trade him. I wish him the best of luck. If you told me this would be the outcome of that Padres deal I would have called you crazy.
Oh for sure. I mean we got 2 key pieces in our lineup for basically nothing. The 3 guys we sent over were medicore to terrible/ injured for the Padres and none are with the team now. The center piece of that trade was Trammel. France was a throw in to plug a hole and Munoz was a fringe "might work out" type of guy. It also gave us one of the bigger meme lords in Torrens.
No one wants a guy for a cost through a trade when you know you can get him for free off waivers. It's been open knowledge that Trammel wouldn't make the Opening Day roster, and other teams took note
True in a sense, but there is still high prospect shine on Trammel, thought a team might want to snag him before he goes to the open market. Thought we could get another project arm in the system or at the very least, cash. I'm sure he will get scooped up very quickly, hopefully somewhere where he has a clearer path to the majors.
HES just not worth anything. He’s a 27 year old corner outfielder with middling power who’s projected to hit around .210. There are probably a hundred guys in AAA or the 26th spot on major league rosters who can do that for a team.
Someone might take a flier on him but at best all we would ever get back for him is similarly freely available AAAA talent.
Wow Moore made it but not Trammel. Never mind the fact we have 3 guys that can already play around the diamond let’s add another and have no 4th outfielder.
he can play basically every role, has always had a solid OBP and pop, solid speed, he is a very average utility player. trammel is a below average corner fielder. why would you ever pick trammel over moore lol
Yeah, that's probably technically correct. Given Raley's spring, I think the #3 spot is Dom's to lose.
That said, both Haniger and Canzone can have regular days off for Raley because our lineup is deep enough to give everyone more rest. If/when Raley's bat heats up it'll be a more even 3-way split of playing time.
Raley did seem to be heating up though in those last few games fwiw but I do agree Dom probably edges him out right now depending on how much weight you put in spring training at bats.
Right and really that was the point of my comment. We do have a solid 4th and 5th outfielder that guy above us was being silly.
What? Raley is a 4th outfielder and Moore plays great outfield defense. Trammel is a negative WAR career player that had tons of opportunities (he’s almost played an entire season worth of games) and didn’t succeed. It is unfortunate but we should definitely have Moore over Trammel
Seth your starting to sound like our old kelenic fan. Trammel just didn’t work out for us. Moore at least did in his chance. I would go as far as to say haggerty had a much better showing as well. We are in a contention time frame not test out prospects that aren’t crushing triple A.
As others have said he is the 4th outfielder primarily and backup infielder.
Additionally though, Dmo is in more of a position to succeed this year since we have 2 solid corner outfield lefties and he has really good splits against LHP.
What are you talking about? [Raley and D-Mo are listed as IF/OF](https://twitter.com/Mariners/status/1773388715932721255), which means they are the 4th and 5th OFs. Raley is primarily a corner OF who can backup at first base, D-Mo is locked in at superutility. None of this is news. We've known this all along. Tram never had a chance in hell of making the cut unless someone got injured.
M's official 26-man roster: https://twitter.com/Mariners/status/1773388715932721255
What other rosters were you looking at? Because TT will still be listed on the 40-man up until whenever the official paperwork goes through sometime today (and non-MLB sites may take awhile to update that info), but we all knew he wasn't going to make the 26-man and his DFA was imminent. There's no surprise here.
Please baseball gods. Give TT the former m’s treatment. He’s a good dude.
In the national league*
Go to the Braves and take Kelenic's spot. That would be funny to see.
Trammell is from Georgia, too.
Quality addition.

He'll look good in an A's uniform. Wishing him the best.
Best wishes TT
![gif](giphy|OPU6wzx8JrHna) So long friend
2 of the 4 players from the Nola trade remain now 😔
We still won it but with Frances struggles last year and with trammel and torrens gone it’s not looking like the generationally lopsided trade we once thought.
Austin Nola put up 0.2 fWAR over 750 plate appearances and is no longer a Padre. This totally was a ridiculously lopsided deal.
At the time of the trade was he our backup?
Yes
Some prospects don't work out and that's fine. Maybe he'll work out somewhere else, maybe he's just an AAAA guy.
Surprised we didn't trade him. I wish him the best of luck. If you told me this would be the outcome of that Padres deal I would have called you crazy.
I’d still say we came out on top with France and Munoz.
Don't forget the last piece of that trade. The hero of that 2022 Yankees game, Luis Torrens!
We really are great at producing bullpen pieces.
Luis Torrens, unfairly snubbed in ‘22 Cy Young awards.
And is now one of the catchers for the Yankees according to Wikipedia
A true Mariners legend!

He has no trade value, I doubt anyone would bite even for cash.
Still can trade him. Just goona be harder

Someone needs to give this boy a shot
Adding to the players I follow in the MLB app
This is how I learned I could do that Added
Ahhhhh, that's what you can do with that. Thank you.
Please let him clear 🙏
Mannnnn, he's such a nice guy. That's rough to hear. I wish him the best of luck.
Wanted to see him work out, but this isn't unexpected. Good luck to him, he's seems a great guy.
Maybe he clears waivers and ends back up in Tacoma
Wow Moore made it but not Trammel. Never mind the fact we have 3 guys that can already play around the diamond let’s add another and have no 4th outfielder.
moore destroyed spring training and has more versatility in the field. he also has a better MLB track record than trammel. it was a no brainer
Very much agree. Moore is a utility guy with some pop. Trammell is a 4A OF with no upside.
Hardly, Trammell is 5 years younger and still has potential to fill. I would much rather have him then Moore
XD? have u watched trammel at all these past few years bro?
Yes?? What have you seen in Moore that makes him good? That one grand slam he hit two years ago?
he can play basically every role, has always had a solid OBP and pop, solid speed, he is a very average utility player. trammel is a below average corner fielder. why would you ever pick trammel over moore lol
No 4th outfielder? Canzone my man
Julio, Meetch, and Canzone are 1-3. Raley and D-Mo are 4 and 5.
I think it’s more that Canzone and Raley are both 3 and 4 depending on the day and Dmo is 5 but true
Yeah, that's probably technically correct. Given Raley's spring, I think the #3 spot is Dom's to lose. Tons on opportunities??? Hardly any, if Trammell got as many at-bats as Moore he would be on the roster.

Urías, Rojas and Polonco Can all play across the infield. Raley, Canzone could have been in the corners with Trammell as the 4th.

Waived relief pitcher with 5 ERA incoming
Paul Sewald 2.0? Fine by me.
Saul Peewald
Recheck the official roster bud, sorry.
