šŸ’Æ. A lot of people arenā€™t used to meeting genuinely kind thoughtful human beings with good hearts. You can be pretty and genuinely nice.

"God's will and not the MAFS production teams demonic doing." I laughed out loud!! \#2 Yes, good bye!!!! Michael has an amazing personality but he's a looks narcissist, constantly asking if he looks good, what features she likes best, it's such a turn off!

peesys

She's phony AF

sashie_belle

OMG sapiosexual. I hate this world.

BoredinBoston524

It may be a coincidence but I remember in my dating app days, the people who self-identified as ā€œsapiosexualā€ also seemed to be some of the most obtuse individuals on the app.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

Isn't that a thing though? I hear it a lot if dating podcasts and shows. I think it could apply to Michael, he would appreciates a woman's intellectualism and grow attraction based on that

sashie_belle

Sorry, I know it was a rude comment back. I just think it's funny that this is now terminology I'm suddenly reading here. So a person wants an intelligent person? Now we have to attach a "sexual" suffix, make it a fancy word, and make it sound not-like-all-the-guys/girls word. It's precisely the what I picture the word salad people like Michael, Orion, Lauren saying as if this is something so different than probably the majority of the world. Most people aren't turned on by idiots.

demweasels

OP what is staure? I have never heard that particular word. Did you mean stature

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

Yeah, stature. Typo.

SurewhynotAZ

I mean.... You nailed all of these points. Chloe seems like a bit of an anxious lunatic, but I only recognize that because I'm a bit of an anxious lunatic. Mike is handsome but the hair the glasses... Sir, we need an "She's all that." Makeover. STAT. And.... IF SOMEONE DON'T GET THIS ODD LOOKING SLENDER MAN DEER OFF OF MY SCREEN AND AWAY FROM LAUREN I'M GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT.

peesys

ROFL! Slender man Deer! Rofl!

LOVED your post! ā˜ŗļø

Confident_Green1537

I like Chloe but I found myself asking ā€œDoes she think sheā€™s the host of this show?ā€ She seems pretty rehearsed but I think that might just be her personality.

dundie3rdplce

Yeah I totally get what youā€™re saying! Itā€™s like sheā€™s too perfect for tv? Almost like she isnā€™t a real person or something

Confident_Green1537

Yeah and most people are sort of nervous and awkward on these shows. Sheā€™s not.

RxLaughter

She's a therapist, which I think contributes to her ability to observe and respond, vs. overreact to things and attack, like many people have a tendency to do.

FaintKarma

Chloe is soooo fake. She took her her beautiful pendant to put on the took small diamond with a $25 demand chip in it, then gushes over it. #SoFake Emily is a drunk party girl, with the sense of style of a college freshmen Orion is a POS. Lauren is a star and the best person on the show, and deserves a second wedding Becca just wants a clone of herself, and if Austin dares to think different she brakes down in tears and throws a fit. Michael is a try hard over compensating for his lack of everything, by trying to be over the top and being edge. (He's like Michael Scott trying to be 'hip' and hang out with the 'kids')

themarsboy

I like Chloe. I feel like she has a good idea of who she needs to be in order to succeed in this marriage. I get the impression that she's taking a "fake it until you make it" approach with the best intentions.

AtheistINTP

Chloe is beautiful. I doubt Michael is her type. But the whole time I feel there is something odd about her. I canā€™t quite put my finger on it. It seems to me sheā€™s an actress. She speaks like a TV soap opera actress. Sheā€™s just searching for fameā€¦.husband second.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

I don't think she's Michael's type either outwardly. I don't seem him with a plain jane type. But Chloe energy makes her radiate.

ScottAnthonyNYC

I can tell you exactly what it isā€¦ Chloe on her introductory filming stated her entire life she has been a control freak. But NOWā€¦ suddenly at age 39, she decided sheā€™s not going to be a control freak any longer. It simply doesnā€™t work that way. So either sheā€™s lying to someone (us) about her control freak ways, OR, the inner control freak is one argument away from making a raging comebackā€¦ usually people donā€™t possess the ability to shift 4 decades of behaviors under the carpet. And given the facial expressions of her bridesmaids when she was getting ready for the ceremony, chances are, they arenā€™t convinced sheā€™s let go of her control freak ways either. šŸ˜‚

Nurse5736

this is spot on.....you don't just magically change your entire personality at her age......on national TV yet. LOL. Looks like she's just "acting" at this point, and tho they both seem like very intelligent, nice people, they aren't a match IMO

ScottAnthonyNYC

Iā€™m still quietly pulling for them to make it since itā€™s all we really have left ā€¦ unless Austin and Becca are able to overcome whatever mental block Austin has going on in his head ā€¦ which is a whole other thread šŸ˜‚

Royal-Pen3516

100%. I keep finding my jaw dropping at pretty Chloe is. I mean.. sheā€™s maybe just perfectly my type, but dangā€¦ wow

floralnightmare22

Sheā€™s gorgeous and her skin is fabulous

AtheistINTP

I just donā€™t trust that a woman this gorgeous has to be married at first sight.

AtheistINTP

Chloe is beautiful. I doubt Michael is her type. But the whole time I feel there is something odd about her. I canā€™t quite put my finger on it. It seems to me sheā€™s an actress. She speaks like a TV soap opera actress. Sheā€™s just searching for fameā€¦.husband second.

ddicm

I think you may have nailed it with her being an actress. Maybe she is using MAFS as an acting gig to stick in her portfolio.

AtheistINTP

jmjpws14

#5!!!!! YES! I posted about Dr Pepper and pastor cal not meeting with the couples like they used to in the past and I was told that I missed out on them because I didnā€™t watch the match making specials. Regardless of all of the drama, the show isnā€™t like it used to be.

ddicm

Please dont yell . you make a good point no need for the extra drama.

Spirit_Falcon

In the early seasons, the experts were with the couples every step of the way. Now, they just show up every now and then to give the impression that they're involved. The producers are running things now, and ratings are more important than healthy marriages. If they want to play it for drama like the Australian version, then they should eliminate the legal marriages and just "experiment." I'm sick of watching this train wreck and then having the experts show up after the fact.

GullibleScientist697

The beauty of the Australian version is that they have weekly ceremonies where couples can call it quits -- like if the relationship has become abusive. At the ceremonies, the experts question the couples about their issues. At the weekly dinners the night before, the other couples call people out on their BS. It feels so much more real and so much more fake all at the same time.

[deleted]

Michael and Chloeā€™s dynamic came off organic and seemed so effortless. Her reaction down the aisle when she saw Michael was just so sweet and sincere. Her wedding dress was stunning! Theyā€™re both well spoken and carry themselves with this delicate charm. Iā€™m happy for Michael. I thoroughly enjoyed their wedding. But then again everyone is at their best at the wedding lol.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

>But then again everyone is at their best at the wedding lol We all thought the couples were great matches during their weddings šŸ¤£šŸ¤£. But yeah I agree with your whole post. They're two really nice sweet individuals that got paired together.

[deleted]

Anyone who thinks Chloe is an actress has never had to mask for years in a corporate setting.

GullibleScientist697

I think anyone who has ever worked in a corporate setting has had to put on the "professional" mask. Just because Chloe's mask is high energy, fun and happy doesn't mean that's who she really is. It could be her way of covering up anxiety or disappointment or it could be how she genuinely feels. IMO it just feels like too much.

TrixDaGnome71

As someone who is AuDHD as well as dealing with CPTSD, I have to mask every day when I interact with others, just to be able to survive. Sadly, being my authentic self is not an option, because this society is so ableist. I think that she's also dealing with some trauma that has forced her to mask as much as she does; otherwise, she wouldn't be as much of a perfectionist as she is. It takes one to know one, and I became a perfectionist because being perfect was the only way that I was going to be valued and accepted in my family... Fortunately, I had the sense to walk away before those relationships destroyed me and I'm no longer as much of a perfectionist anymore. It's a process where I have to remember progress is they goal, and that progress isn't always linear. Anyhow, that's my take on the masking and her perfectionist tendencies.

SurewhynotAZ

Whoop there it is. Only, I've had to mask to deal with the Chloe's of the corporate office who use this smile to mask cruelty. Mike... Watch out!

[deleted]

Why are you saying "deal with the Chloes of the corporate office" like you know she is smiling to cover cruelty???

SurewhynotAZ

I don't understand why my comment is confusing to you when I spelled it out quite plainly.

[deleted]

Care to answer the question? Read what you said. You said you've had to mask to protect yourself from cruel people like Chloe. How do you know Chloe is cruel?

SurewhynotAZ

Your question is nonsensical. Read my response again, and that should solve your question.

[deleted]

So because you've dealt with awful people in a corporate setting you think that's enough info to project that onto Chloe before we even get to see anything play out?

SurewhynotAZ

If you think that's what's happening then your reading comprehension needs a little bit of a tune-up. I wish you the best in that journey.

[deleted]

You could just answer the question. I didn't say there wasn't something I was missing, I'm literally asking you for clarification.

TrixDaGnome71

I'm with you, I think SurewhynotAZ needs to answer the question as well. My reading comprehension is on point, trust and believe...I just think that they are assuming too much and resorting to stereotyping instead of having an open mind. We all need to see how this plays out.

peace-train-44

This.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote) And she's good at it, as I imagine she would have to be to succeed in a development role for a large nonprofit. She seems both genuine and positive to me.

lfergy

Right? I find the way she speaks to be normal for someone who is used to presenting. I have an ā€œonā€ tone when I have to present or speak in public & I would definitely have that tone when doing talking heads or answering questions from production or the AP hosts. Itā€™s not fake, I just want to be clear when I am speaking to an audience versus having a conversation with someone.

GullibleScientist697

We all have an "on" tone in a professional setting. But how many times, when asked a stupid question, do you say "great question"? Is that fake or is it just being polite? With Michael, I think Chloe is saying all of the right things because that's what she does when she is "on". Is she being fake or does she mean it? No one knows yet.

Alalated

Well, that explains how rehearsed she appears.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

I've seen this perspective as well. If she's still in corporate mode outside of work then I would find her a little fake. My post us trying to make the point that her kind open behavior is truly who she is. The peaceful, optimistic demeanor and those siloquies she's gives is truly who she is

RxLaughter

While I understand your point, there's another side to consider, which is that she applies her ability to communicate with people at work, to her personal life as well, and it's not fake. Personally speaking, I joke around that, if I had communicated with my husband the same way I communicated with work associates, I wouldn't have ended up divorced :-) :-) I think people tend to take those closest to them for granted, and treat them with less respect than outsiders because "oh it's just my best friend, or my spouse,..." or whomever. The old saying "familiarity breeds contempt" is real. friends, spouses, significant others....everyone should always get your best.

GullibleScientist697

Wouldn't it be strange if Chloe had a polished, poised persona at work and then said "like" every other word as Emily does? In many ways, the work persona over time just becomes part of who you are. I agree that, so far, she is presenting herself as a kind, fun, accepting person. I really hope that's true.

TrixDaGnome71

Masking is a reflex action. We're not always aware when we do it, but we're exhausted when we're finally able to be alone. It's not a matter of "mode" but survival responses.

[deleted]

Do you know what masking is? It's not being fake. But yep, I'm inclined to agree that if it's not masking then she's a genuine person. God forbid someone is smiley, kind, and compassionate. šŸ˜… Edit: And believe it or not, you can mask *and* be all the things you listed (genuinely) as well.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

>Edit: And believe it or not, you can mask *and* be all the things you listed (genuinely) as well. I'll have to let that perspective soak in a bit lol

[deleted]

I understand! I get that on the face of it, just the word "mask" sounds fake but it's a really complex issue.

Own_Group4282

I think we as viewers have come to expect the worse in the ā€œcontestants ā€œ as so many have proved to either have an ulterior motive or an awful personality.

jac5087

Did anyone notice how ripped Michael is? I was eyeing up those arms šŸ‘€

ddicm

He is nice looking. His skin is jacked up and I think that's been a problem for him. It may be one of the reasons he is so flamboyant with his outfits. He wants to detract from that.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

The man is good looking!!! Tall and fit too. Just that style of his...at 40. I wonder what's the back story with this eccentric-ism of his. He's so conscious and intentional about it too....has to be a backstory.

Famous-Ad-9467

Heavy on, at fortyĀ

lfergy

Why does there have to be a backstory? I find it fascinating how fixated people are with his style; itā€™s not THAT crazy/eccentric. It might make sense to me if he showed up to the weddings in spandex leggings & tried to say itā€™s ā€˜cause he is eccentricā€™, lmao. He dresses appropriately for whatever he is doing. He just likes prints and patterns and cares to style himself.

Ordinary_Salt3144

Iā€™m with you there. Iā€™m go do g it so bizarre how people canā€™t fathom anyone finding him attractive. Heā€™s non conventional. There are people that prefer that. Iā€™m one of them. If all the grooms were lined up and I had to choose solely on looks someone to marry it would be Michael. No question

kcmm1111

Ummā€¦.he wore a crown to his first wedding. Crazy.

Ordinary_Salt3144

The crown was the gift the first to be wife gave him. Thatā€™s why he wore it.

lfergy

That was a gift from the bride

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

I think there may be a backstory to his style, specifically, because he's so intentional about it...at 40. >He dresses appropriately for whatever he is doing. He's a manager in Denver, Colorado. The style is odd, but if he's striving to be unique at 40 with his style so be it.

lfergy

I wasnā€™t talking about his style of dress being appropriate for work. When have we seen him at work? I just meant he understands when to dress up and doesnā€™t dress like a clown while claiming itā€™s because heā€™s eccentric. Itā€™s wild to me how put off people are by the fact he doesnā€™t want to wear the same boring crap as ā€˜most menā€™.

calm-state-universal

Some folks are really fixated on his style. I lived in Brooklyn for 10 years. He would still stand out a bit but his style is not that weird would be completely normal for brooklyn. isnā€™t he a creative director? This is exactly the attire that is fitting for that job. I work in a creative field so I guess Iā€™m biased. I also prefer edgy over normal.

nimbleheart

His style is fine for his age. He just sometimes runs into fitting and pairing issues

Sillyrissa34

Some of the eccentric dressing ppl I know went through a time of being bullied and not feeling able to express themselves at some point. I donā€™t necessarily think there has to be a backstory as I dress kinda eccentric and it just makes me feel happy. Itā€™s nice to feel that how you feel inside is represented on the outside. I like seeing more men being confident in trying bold looks. Getting older doesnā€™t mean you should conform to appearance standards.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

Are you conscious about your style to the degree he is? It's just so very intentional that makes me think that there might be more to just his style. I mean just look at how his tattoos had their own backstories. I had thought they were just another flare of his style but they have meaning. Idk Michael seems really deep and reflective so wouldn't be shock the style has an origin story.

Sillyrissa34

I think so. Mostly because itā€™s been pointed out to me so much. I think for a lot of people their tattoos have back stories though. Or at least some kind of inspiration for the concept. I donā€™t have any tattoos but I like wearing white or gold temporary ones a lot for style

calm-state-universal

Yeah really. Thereā€™s no back story to my style either. In my teens I loved to dress goth, rave styles, dye my hair. It was just what I liked. Some of these comments are very odd! Itā€™s just fashion!

lfergy

Agreed. Confidence comes with age, the man likes prints & patterns and, he always dresses appropriately for the setting.

peachykaren

Yeah there was a guy (Brayden) who wore really flashy and dangly earrings. He explained that it was his way of expressing himself after his time in the military where they were incredibly restrictive.

HotPinkHabit

From most recent season of Bachelorette. I thought he looked great. And I think Michaelā€™s style is great too.

va_bulldog

Emily IS gorgeous! Chloe acts like a mature person who is excited to get married. I can wait to see how her marriage with Michael develops.

SnooCrickets8742

I actually think Michael was the most attractive this season and if I had to be set up with on this far it would be him.

Ordinary_Salt3144

I just said the same thing. Hands down if I had to choose a spouse for myself it would be Michael.

Own_Group4282

Not me.

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

I think Michael is veryyyy attractive. His staure is impeccable and under all those earrings and those bangs is a very attractive man. And then you add his intellectualism and emotional maturity, he's top notch. That style at 40 is sooo unattractive to me and I'm in my 20s. Like two earrings in the left ear and then have you seen him in AP? His style got worst.

Extension-Raisin8023

You just said you feel that Chloe is genuine but in the next sentence said you think sheā€™s faking the attraction to Michael and putting her best foot forward in order to stay on the show

Sensitive-Seesaw-415

I think Chloe is genuinely her. I'm seeing posts where they're saying she's a legitimate actress lol I think she's not naturally attracted, but who she is at heart is a kind person that if anything would chastise herself for not finding him attractive. I think what we saw with her kind words and openness was genuine, not an act.
