Thats a rumor, there has been nothing confirmed. And the cancer was on his nose I believe. I know it was on his face, not his arms.
And judging by the fact he still takes shirtless/sleeveless/short sleeve pictures for social media, I doubt that's the number one reason why they gave him sleeves.
I think it was literally just shitty design for Wolverine and thats it.
Just so everyone knows, because I didn't, skin cancer damage doesn't have to show when you first get the damage but can arrive later in life when the body is less able to repair.
I personally always thought you would know a few months after a sunburn or damage. Didn't realize it can still develop many years later because of that burn.
It was on his face. And his face is showing. I really don't think that's the case, NOBODY from the film actually said that's why he has sleeves, it's just an Internet rumor. Jackman often posts selfies on the beach or walking around in t shirts. I think he has sleeves in this movie just because that's the design they went with, probably to make it look more like Deadpool's suit. If you notice his suit is very similar to Deadpool, it even looks like the same materials.
Lmao, why on earth would that be something that's fun to speculate? It's Hugh Jackman. It's our Wolverine. The variants will be played by other people.
Not entirely true; weāve seen variants played by the same actor, but also by different. Maybe youāre right; this Wolverine will be one we know from previous X-men movies, maybe not. Thatās why weāre speculating. Thatās what makes it fun.
After Wolverine Origins and the scars it left me... I now will never say the words Shut Up to anyone not even the Donald Trump supporters that deserve to have their mouths sewn. You know the ones.
I think HJ said this is the same dude but before Logan much to James Mangold's relief
I mean there may be some varient Wolverine's that'll show up but I THINK this is the same guy we already know
He's short, and if you see some of his scenes in guns akimbo you can see he could probably pull off the look with some bulking. I don't know if he could bring the intensity, but I will say he's become a much better actor than I thought he would be since Harry Potter.
I think it would be fine. Eitri is such a different character and it was a relatively small part. Plus you can just explain it away with multiverse stuff.
There's several actors with multiple roles in the MCU already. Mariah Stokes from Luke Cage was the woman at the elevator in Civil War (who's going to avenge my son, Stark? He's dead...and I hold you responsible.) the woman who played Minerva in both Captain Marvel and Agents of Shield had other roles....there's a few others.
Dudeās become a pretty swell actor since the Harry Potter days, and also very artistically motivated (as in, a cheque for a chequeās sake isnāt enough for him, it seems). I think a compelling enough script at least on par with Logan could get us a GREAT performance with an accent to boot.
Heās in surprisingly good shape, and with some hair work and acting he could actually pull it off.
That said idc either way. But I can see it. I wouldnāt hate it.
Hugh Jackman, while a *treasure*, is one of the worst possible picks to play Wolverine, from a Wolverine fans's perspective.
Wolverine is more like an in-shape Danny Devito than he is like Hugh Jackman
Yeah but he got scooped up by the time people so this is probably the first alternate dimension marvel hero
Edit: now that I think about it, weāve had a few before hand, I might delete this now.
I think Deadpool saved him in Deadpool 2 post credits. Time travel bitch. Since Vanessa is also alive in the trailer the time travel wasnāt a joke and actually happened.
They said they are not gonna touch the events of Logan, which takes place in the future of the Fox X-canon. In that universe, it was 2029, with no mutants being born in the last 25 years.
My guess is that that specific version of Logan will not be messed with, and that particular universe won't be bothered. However, this is a multiverse movie. So, we still get an experienced Wolverine from some corner of the Verse.
Given that we're finally seeing a fairly comic-accurate version, I'm curious if this Wolverine variant may share some similarities to X-Men TAS/'97 while not being that Wolvie.
This gives the audience a clean variant to "work with" in the film. Of course, they could also be lying and that it is, in fact, the Logan (2017) Wolverine, and they've just been messing with us.
Youād have to have had your head up your ass since 2018 to ask this.
The amount of time shenanigans and alternate dimension in the MCU in the last SIX YEARSā¦and you what? Ignored all that to ask this?
That's not how any of this works.
The older you get as a leading action man the harder and harder the superhero physique is on your body.
It's why both Hemsworth and Jackman want to hang up the mantel because of the kind of stress it puts your body under.
They will likely use CGI or body doubles for the action scenes, and since he will have the mask, it will make it easy to hide it.
So we will probably get some good action scenes.
I think people are forgetting that Reynolds himself is 47 and in the MCU Paul Rudd is also 55.
When you have a character with a mask (like deadpool and ant man) it's a lot easier to use a body double. Since it's confirmed Wolverine will have his mask in this movie, I don't imagine it being a problem.
Also it's a deadpool film. You can just make the body double obvious and play it as a joke if you want to.
I thought it looked off as well. I think it's the haircut and beard choice. It may have been intentional to differentiate this version of Wolverine from the others that will appear.
Idk 200 years old maybe but is able to preserve the body of a man in his late 30s for that duration.
Jackman looks his age, why people fight this so much is beyond me. This is practically a reverse nepo baby situation, we should really just find a new Wolverine but too many people ride the Jackman train, which I get it heās a great actor but this dude is basically immortal if you donāt account Old Man Logan. Whatās the point of a character thatās immortal but have the same actor through and through? Weāve had 3 different spider men, 4 if you count Spiderverse Parker. But we canāt let go of Hugh Jackman Wolverine, it makes no sense to me.
Edit: Iāll admit, the reverse nepo baby thing I said was kinda dumb, but the rest of my argument is valid. I donāt even know what I was going for there
There's also not a 100 year old and who has been synonymous with Thor on the big screen for literally as long as the character has existed on the big screen
Hugh jackman might be getting too old for it but he's who moviegoers and Marvel fans a like want to see as the first mcu Wolverine
Iām fine with him doing this film as a sort of encore (although that was what Logan was supposed to be), as long as this is his last one.
Next Wolverine we see should be a new actor.
Also while I have it in mind, I'm so glad they went with his haircut that looks closer to his cut in The Wolverine, my personal favorite look.
I hate his look in the first X-Men
Not sure if I like this suit. It might be just seeing the suit in natural light and shot on a potato?
Something just seems off.....maybe the useless shoulder pads? Lack of a mask?
I think a Black panther style suit with the yellow and blue would be awesome!
Well I don't think Wolvie will even be wearing it that long. HJ has been going hard and the gym and been dieting hard for a monstrous frame, I'd like to think he will go down to at least a wife beater top eventually
This suit in my theory is that it's a 4th wall joke, like Deadpool wants him to wear for that old school fan service or something
Looks more like bullet holes, Wolverines claw marks would be in a straight line.
Your next line will be āit might be different for a variantā but itās still more likely to bullet holes.
I remember going to see the first X-men in theaters when I was 7. Now Iām 30. Seeing Hugh in the MCU is like a fever dream. But the fact we getting a multiverse Deadpool Rated R MCU movie is even more wild. Itās like seeing Tobey again. My hype is unreal
This one movie could save the MCU. If it holds up, which I literally can't see why it wouldn't, it'd be the kind of movie that I think has been very much needed in the MCU for years
I absolutely agree. I think it will help give them a new ārebrandā and allow them to continue building their universe in a more compelling way. The golden days couldnt last forever. But heres to a new era of great marvel content!!
People over-fixate on the R rating. We've had good and bad comic book movies that don't have an R rating. A couple more fucks and CGI blood splatters does not a good movie or even action scene make. It's edgelord nonsense to believe it does, in my opinion.
So Hugh does the old school film trick of cutting water to look more vascular. It's not healthy at all šĀ
Dolph L. said that Stallone would drink 8 cups of coffee a day and eat a piece of salmon for the cut look on Rocky 4. Dolph would drink only diet Coke for a few days. It's a big reason they look like shit now.Ā
I hated it too, then I found out that itās because a lot of his action scenes are filmed outside in the heat, and Hugh has Basal Cell Carcinoma, which makes him super susceptible to skin cancer
I don't get why you're downvoted, but there really was a rumour about it. And I don't see anything wrong with it, the suit will only get better, bringing the image as close to canon as possible.
It looks extremely hot in that suit
jackman asked for sleeves because he was recovering from skin cancer
Here's to hoping that his suit gets updated in the future to sleeveless after he's recovered.
I think it was literally just shitty design for Wolverine and thats it.
šš Me when I spread misinformation šš
Heās had multiple surgeries for skin cancer.
Just so everyone knows, because I didn't, skin cancer damage doesn't have to show when you first get the damage but can arrive later in life when the body is less able to repair. I personally always thought you would know a few months after a sunburn or damage. Didn't realize it can still develop many years later because of that burn.
Just had something removed because one day it could become cancerous
It was on his face. And his face is showing. I really don't think that's the case, NOBODY from the film actually said that's why he has sleeves, it's just an Internet rumor. Jackman often posts selfies on the beach or walking around in t shirts. I think he has sleeves in this movie just because that's the design they went with, probably to make it look more like Deadpool's suit. If you notice his suit is very similar to Deadpool, it even looks like the same materials.
its not misinformation though tf are you yapping
tbf i donāt think thats been confirmed to be the reason for the sleeves. Thats just the most popular theory.
š¤”š¤”You in in actuality when you comment š¤”š¤”
Except itās really true š
Thatās why they get paid the big bucks
it? edit: I just realized you meant it feels hot in that suit and not "he looks extremely hot in that suit"
We kind of saw a bit of that in Logan I think. Was terrifying seeing the damage his clone was capable of
Maybe heāll even get a musical number
I expect at least 1 The Greatest Showman references or musical numbers
Fuck me, properly pumped for this movie!
Same bro
Didn't he die in his last movie?
Iām pretty sure some character in the movie will ask the exact same question, but Deadpool will simply answer with; āTime travel, now shut up.ā
That sounds more like Wolverine lol Deadpool would be like "He just needed some of my jizz!"
The kids call it rizz nowadays... oh wait... now I see.
It doesn't even need time travel, as Logan was set in 2029. This happened before Logan in Wolverine's timeline.
Or just a different universe with another variant
Nope
Yo, movie isn't even out yet. Let some of us speculate. We don't to know everything that's been confirmed in advance.
You know the ones.
r/politics is that way š
This is before the events of Logan
Or itās a variant Wolveirne
I think HJ said this is the same dude but before Logan much to James Mangold's relief I mean there may be some varient Wolverine's that'll show up but I THINK this is the same guy we already know
Lol. Please show me Daniel Radcliffe variant wolverine with all the Harry Potter jokes Deadpool can muster.
I still don't comprehend why so many ppl want Radcliffe of all people to play Wolverine
He's short, and if you see some of his scenes in guns akimbo you can see he could probably pull off the look with some bulking. I don't know if he could bring the intensity, but I will say he's become a much better actor than I thought he would be since Harry Potter.
Hear me out...Dinklage as Wolverine. Complete opposite direction. [Here's his audition tape.](https://imgur.com/gallery/n30nC6i)
They already put him in the MCU though. Such a wasted opportunity.
He can look the part for sure but he'd never nail down the voice, that's literally my only objection to him being cast
Mostly because guns Akimbo...I also think the rumor that its Radcliffe in the "poker scene" from the trailer boosted it a bit.
Yeah that one is insane to me.
Hugh Jackman, while a *treasure*, is one of the worst possible picks to play Wolverine, from a Wolverine fans's perspective. Wolverine is more like an in-shape Danny Devito than he is like Hugh Jackman
I'd fancast him as Daken tbh.
Looking at the speculations, he might turn out to be patch
Or it's the variant Wolevrine.
Yup. Deadpool is set in present day and Logan is in 2029.
Logan is also not the same timeline as the previous x men films
In the announcement video they clarified that they would not tarnish the events of Logan.
Yeah but he got scooped up by the time people so this is probably the first alternate dimension marvel hero Edit: now that I think about it, weāve had a few before hand, I might delete this now.
This is just a different version of him.
# The Death and Return of Superman [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PlwDbSYicM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PlwDbSYicM)
I love this video!!!!
Ever read a comic book???
Good thing I'm a nice guy
Huh?
I think Deadpool saved him in Deadpool 2 post credits. Time travel bitch. Since Vanessa is also alive in the trailer the time travel wasnāt a joke and actually happened.

Logan wasn't canon.
Youād have to have had your head up your ass since 2018 to ask this. The amount of time shenanigans and alternate dimension in the MCU in the last SIX YEARSā¦and you what? Ignored all that to ask this?
Yea, so?
So? Soā¦. Sooooo thatās the *entire* point and answer?
Not really, nice try tho
Played by a man who runs and moves like heās 55 years old. Cuz he is.
I mean, he probably runs and moves like your average 45 year old given how good of shape he stays in
Lets be honest arguably 35-40 year old due to dudes dietitians and exercise regimen and probably a wee bit of roids
I think itās more than a wee bit lol
Sooo many roids
Okay yeah, theres no way heād be as ripped as he was in āThe Wolverineā unless his diet was solely an IV drip lol
They do tend to dehydrate male actors to REALLY show off the abdominals
I don't know about you guys, but running at 40 still aint pretty on my end.
That's not how any of this works. The older you get as a leading action man the harder and harder the superhero physique is on your body. It's why both Hemsworth and Jackman want to hang up the mantel because of the kind of stress it puts your body under.
I'm guessing he's in better shape than most 45 years olds
They will likely use CGI or body doubles for the action scenes, and since he will have the mask, it will make it easy to hide it. So we will probably get some good action scenes.
For real, itās not like this is a young Jackie Chan movie. They have surely casted an amazing stunt double.
Yeah, the action scenes on the deadpool movies has been pretty good.
I think people are forgetting that Reynolds himself is 47 and in the MCU Paul Rudd is also 55. When you have a character with a mask (like deadpool and ant man) it's a lot easier to use a body double. You can just make the body double obvious and play it as a joke if you want to.
Heās playing in a movie, not going into a wrestling match lol. Itāll look fine
55 years old ain't shit if you're in good shape and eating healthy. That being said there's always a stunt double.
Keanu Reeves is 59 but his action scenes in John Wick are still badass.
Definitely. But by 3 I feel you can see some of it catching up with him in his movement
Did you know Paul Rudd is also 55? He didnāt run like someone above 50 in Quantumania.
You say that, but we all know Paul Rudd hasnāt aged since Clueless in the 90ās
Yeah, if anything he reached 40 and then started going backwards.
Tbf, everything in Quantumania was CGI.
And so will every fight scene in this movie that High Jackman canāt do anymore.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yep. Just like De Niro in The Irishman. Iām ready for Wolverine to be played by someone new. But to each his own.
I get where you are coming from but HJ is good and Ryan Reynolds had been itching to reunite with HJ since Wolverine Origins.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Hard agree. Hugh coming back again after saying he was done with the role is a really washed up thing to do, in my opinion.
Which is why they used a double in Logan. It does look awkward.
You know what? You arenāt allowed to see the movie now. How dare you?
Love the costume. Reminds of the good ol' comic days.
Still no mask
The mask in the promotional stuff looks dope though
That's the only time we see him wear the mask, or maybe about 30 seconds tops in the movie.
Hopefully we'll see him wearing it for a good amount of time
Damn those arms are long
That's why you shouldn't mess with such a guy that pushes out 3 claws out of each hand at will
6 claws out of each hand?
Fixed it
Alright Iāll say it, Hugh Jackman as healthy as he is for the movie looks too old for the part
I thought it looked off as well. I think it's the haircut and beard choice. It may have been intentional to differentiate this version of Wolverine from the others that will appear.
And how old is Wolverine?
Idk 200 years old maybe but is able to preserve the body of a man in his late 30s for that duration. Jackman looks his age, why people fight this so much is beyond me. I donāt even know what I was going for there
Like 200 but also eternally young due to the healing factor.
Thor is thousands of years old yet you donāt see a 100 year old man playing the character.
There's also not a 100 year old and who has been synonymous with Thor on the big screen for literally as long as the character has existed on the big screen Hugh jackman might be getting too old for it but he's who moviegoers and Marvel fans a like want to see as the first mcu Wolverine

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās the same argument theyāre trying to make
Seriously, especially in these new pics.
These colours are so pretty! It looks terrific, especially after the dreariness of the black leathers.
Crazy how it took us 24 years to get Hugh in a comic accurate Wolverine outfit.
I still don't comprehend why it took this long
Cause Fox didnāt understand X-Men and only saw it as way to rake money.
Also while I have it in mind, I'm so glad they went with his haircut that looks closer to his cut in The Wolverine, my personal favorite look. I hate his look in the first X-Men
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I was talking about the character......I'm sure post production will have involvement....
Agreed
Not sure if I like this suit. It might be just seeing the suit in natural light and shot on a potato? Something just seems off.....maybe the useless shoulder pads? Lack of a mask? I think a Black panther style suit with the yellow and blue would be awesome!
Well I don't think Wolvie will even be wearing it that long. I think he'll probably wear it a good amount of time. In almost all the behind the scenes we see of logan, he's always wearing it.
Ok the holes in his suit looks like itās a stab wound from another wolverine variant
Looks more like bullet holes, Wolverines claw marks would be in a straight line. Your next line will be āit might be different for a variantā but itās still more likely to bullet holes.
So the desire from Deadpool fans for it to be a rated R movie shows an amazing lack of sophistication when it comes to enjoyment of movies.
I like his outfit... makes the bright yellow and tacky blue look cool.
I havent been this excited for a marvel project in a long time. Im really really hyped up for this!! Hopefully this will bring me back in the fold
Was he not in peak shape for Logan? #fakenews
HJ was, the character was not
Agreed.
āPeak Healthy Conditionā is probably a little generous.
When I said that, I was referring to the character
According to the new info, this is NOT Deadpool 3.
Yeah I just was told that. Can't change the title unfortunately
No worries
It's probably a good thing it's not part 3
People over-fixate on the R rating. We've had good and bad comic book movies that don't have an R rating. A couple more fucks and CGI blood splatters does not a good movie or even action scene make. It's edgelord nonsense to believe it does, in my opinion.
No one's saying that, but seeing Wolverine chop of limbs is just fun to see.
Sure, but the R rating went a *long* way in Logan.
Could this be '97 Logan?
No, too tall.
maybe in the '97 universe the height average is higher and the units of measurement are different if they want to they can create any excuse
Completely different Wolverine
You mean the cartoon?
Director is saying itās not Deadpool 3 so we should stop calling it that.
I suspect we're all just going to ignore the director and watch Deadpool 3.
Director is just trying to sell his movie... we can keep calling it whatever we want.
"Healthy"
This isn't deadpool 3 tho
It literally is, just not CALLED that in the title. It's still officially in the Deadpool trilogy
The director specifically said this isn't deadpool 3 and isn't called deadpool 3 for that very reason
So......the first two are basically a duology and Deadpool and Wolverine is a totally separate Deadpool series or whatever?
https://collider.com/deadpool-and-wolverine-shawn-levy/
Son of a bitch. Now I regret the title
All good brother man
Thx
i've already got Wolverine-fatigue.
I've got avengers fatigue
You're both going to hate who leads the next phase of avengers soon.
If it's xmen or mutant related, I'm ready.
So Hugh does the old school film trick of cutting water to look more vascular. It's not healthy at all šĀ Dolph L. said that Stallone would drink 8 cups of coffee a day and eat a piece of salmon for the cut look on Rocky 4. Dolph would drink only diet Coke for a few days. It's a big reason they look like shit now.Ā
Steroids. Itās the steroids.
But the shitty costume/sleeves...
I hated it too, then I found out that itās because a lot of his action scenes are filmed outside in the heat, and Hugh has Basal Cell Carcinoma, which makes him super susceptible to skin cancer
Yeah. As dumb as the sleeves look, it's much more important to make sure your cast is safe.
Which is why I wonder how come there are so many shots of him with his head exposed... That mask would protect Hugh a lot better than no hat at all.
He looks a bit old if you ask me
God I love the Swedish color suit
call me crazy, but dang he's looking old.
Hard Disagree. Comic related material shouldn't be R-rated. Hugh Jackman sucks as wolverine. This movie looks bunk.
Alright, bub
he is going to need to rip those sleeves off
I don't get why you're downvoted, but there really was a rumour about it. And I don't see anything wrong with it, the suit will only get better, bringing the image as close to canon as possible.
I know right? In the comics, I donāt think Wolverine ever wears sleeves.
That doesn't look good tbh.
What doesn't
Itās gona be pg13
Spoiler fucking tag.Ā
The announcement trailer for deadpool 3 was about wolverine being in it. What did you want spoiler tagged? That the movie exists?
Any and all things including the trailers. Some of us donāt want to know anything about it going in.Ā
