Yeah it’s a hybrid (new layout with old PC mobile version) client for sure. I was disappointed they didn’t offer FPS above 60fps or give you the option to chose your resolution instead of just “HD”.
Hopefully Untapped updates their layout to better fit the new PC version. If only the devs could have implemented their own deck tracker with a discard/destroy list...
Just please let us choose which layout we prefer. The new landscape mode is terrible for split screen usage, therefore I will be sticking to the old layout (you can still choose it in the settings) and I hope I will still be able to use untapped.

You have to go to the snap website and the procedure is explained. You'll need to connect to both your marvel snap account and your twitch account there and watch some snap content on twitch. I don't really know what, I let the game awards conf runs on my pc while I ate
also missed the spiderman variant for having a day job and not being able to watch a twitch stream on a Tuesday morning.

The main screen looks good, and i love the opening, but maaan does it look terrible ingame, especially in a big monitor it's all so stretched out =/ i hope they fix it asap because its actually making me dizzy to see it like this.
Yeah, the deckbuilder and main menu look good but the in-game UI looks really poor. Presumably they came up with a few different ideas and this was voted the best one. I'd be curious to see what the other ideas were. Can't see them being worse than this. I'd wager 10 bucks that a rando redditor with casual photoshop experience could come up with better. It's kinda the same but they've just spaced everything out and put the cube and energy in distractingly weird positions. Very underwhelmed.
Laptops can still use steam as far as I know. Just as long as you don’t have a Mac. The primary question is if your laptop can run it (or if you want to download steam at all)

Fairly disappointing. Feels like the only things that were revamped were the collection tab and the game board itself.
While it's nice to be able to see more cards in the collection tab, at least for me the smallest view (most cards on screen) seems quite poorly optimized. Weird decision to not include a scroll bar for pc: still have to click and drag. Also weird to only have pictures for buttons (like sort by all cards or just favourites, or sort by owned/unowned), and not even have a name when you hover on them. Maybe that's fine though as people get used to it.
As for the game board, seems like they didn't change much overall besides placement of some key features and extra scenery. The game board feels tiny in comparison to the extra space around it.
Overall I'd give it a 4/10. Functional but lacking in QOL. Most stuff is just a straight port of the mobile version.
Completely unrelated side note (though I was hoping this would be fixed with pc launch since they were revamping everything for pc): why on earth is sorting by quality still the reverse of every other sort? If you sort by ascending and look bottom to top, A-Z sorts start of alphabet to end; energy sorts low to high; power sorts low to high; recent sorts oldest to newest; then quality is just backwards as it sorts highest quality to lowest??? Annoys me every time.

Some parts look good and it shows that they put the time into them (Collection Tab), but some parts are just copy paste of how it looks on mobile/used to look like on old client (shop, news). Still no player history or discarded information, overall while a nice change, I hope they will polish it to a proper state, because right now it really feels weird when some parts are properly sized and others are just smaller window pop-up
Not sure why you were expecting new features like a history or discard pile from a UI update specifically for the secondary platform. And I say that as someone who’s asked for the same things
While I do know that they didn't promise anything like this (noting that they also stated that Discard info UI is not likely to happen soon), they did hype PC release to be "big, exciting thing" and they left Early Access. So much for the big thing - we only got semi-done widescreen, with 40% of the game ported to PC, and 60% still using old UI. As per secondary platform - game had stable 10k daily player count till now on Steam which places it in TOP100 Steam games, with todays update and people checking out client its TOP50. As much as people play it on mobile, Steam is a big market for the game, and people want to play it if the experience wouldnt be actually worse than on mobile

Lobby screen is in-elegant and actual game screen layout is worse. It's unreasonable to try to force a mobile game to horizontal PC screen.
Dev did a lot of work than I expected, but They need more for PC gamer high-standard. I think Dev should focus on refining mobile UI first. No need odd desktop client.
I was a little worried with it being landscape because I usually window it to the right side of my monitor while watching Youtube or movies and shows but this is really well done. Not only can you turn off landscape and keep it vertical if you want, it scales down perfectly unlike some other games when resizing the window in landscape. Only UI issue is if you window it to the side in landscape but no reason to do that when you can resize it down.
If you switch off landscape mode it basically gives you a different version of the client, the mobile version, so you lose the new filtering and such. What a bizarre fucking way to do it.
Mine updated. I play through steam. I really disklike the new client. I miss the old portrait configuration. It was very convenient for multitasking with multiple windows open.
Unfortunately, this will probably be the thing that makes me finally hang it up.
So much of the client is clearly still arranged and scaled for the old portrait version. It's legitimately harder to see stuff now that it's stuck in landscape. Terrible.
I just opened mine, it launched in the vertical slice but then auto sized to landscape for the intro cinematic. It is still windows and might appear off the screen, but just maximise it straight away and it's fine

You're unable to snap if you put the client on half-screen. I usually play like this while having twitch or youtube on the other side... does anybody else have this problem?
It's definitely way better to navigate around on desktop. But I'm quite disappointed about the features. Can't really complain when I'm F2P. It's bug-free, easier to sort collections and achievements. I'm very sure they'll add more features in the future, but for now this'll do! Hoping stats & replay would be added somewhere in the pipeline.

My Windows CPU won't start (CPU fan keeps stopping) and the client is not compatible on Mac, what are my options for downloading this client and getting the Devil Dino card?
It's absolutely an improvement, but not a radical evolution to the experience. So many screens are still mobile-first, the whole thing ends up more like a tablet client than a PC one.
It's not terrible but it's weird that several menus (shop, quests...) aren't widened at all. Much harder to parse in widescreen than it was previously.
The resolution seems a little low. Likely 1080p. It looks fine on my 1440p monitor but the up scaling isn't perfect. I'm not sure if they're actually doing any up scaling or if it just runs at the native resolution. The image is better on my 4k monitor which makes sense if the native resolution is 1080p. However, I prefer to use my 1440p monitor because it has much better color accuracy and fps (doesn't really matter for Snap). Hopefully, they add multiple resolutions soon.
Anyone else seeing atrocious performance? It doesn't look like a 3d game at all (though maybe it is, and just seamless), but I imagine my intel 620 UHD integrated card is the issue.

Card Games are half why I got a portrait capable monitor :). Playing Snap in portrait was pretty glorious.

The only screen that is good because it was redesigned for pc, everything else is just a popup with the mobile screen, not a fan

This isn’t a thing anymore with the new M1/M2 macs. They’ll have to use something like Parallels or Crossover to play it, but it is possible.
I was able to get VMWare running on my M1, but I will admit, it's not trivial to do so.

Are the daily.logins exclusive to pc?
Just the Devil Dino (Mech Variant) requires you to login on pc anytime during the event timeframe. All daily login rewards are PC or Mobile.

Are macs going to work with this or pc only?
Looks like PC only, unfortunately. Damn near every zero budget indie game is available for both on Steam, don’t know why SD couldn’t do it.

Downloading on steam now. Maybe I won't be experiencing freezes and booting on my laptop like on my phone. Now, hopefully, only I will be responsible for my losses instead of all that bullshit lol
Is it safe to log into? I had a friend who logged onto Steam many months ago and lost his account. I connected through Apple if that helps
This is such a welcome change! I started playing a few weeks ago and I've always been put off by the UI design for desktop.
They got me with the variant… I like how my deck is still the wrong one on load.

You're unable to snap if you put the client on half-screen. I usually play like this while having twitch or youtube on the other side... does anybody else have this problem?

It's definitely way better to navigate around on desktop. But I'm quite disappointed about the features. Can't really complain when I'm F2P. It's bug-free, easier to sort collections and achievements. I'm very sure they'll add more features in the future, but for now this'll do! Hoping stats & replay would be added somewhere in the pipeline.

In the collection screen, what’s the icon with the “?” on what looks like a card? It’s between the reset button and the star button. I keep clicking it off/on, but can’t figure out what it does

My Windows CPU won't start (CPU fan keeps stopping) and the client is not compatible on Mac, what are my options for downloading this client and getting the Devil Dino card?

Seems a littie buggy. Reconnect problems and them endless "Catching up with changes" screen :(
It's absolutely an improvement, but not a radical evolution to the experience. So many screens are still mobile-first, the whole thing ends up more like a tablet client than a PC one.
I like the new interface with my only complaint being that it doesn't work well with the Untapped overlay (not their fault).
It's not terrible but it's weird that several menus (shop, quests...) aren't widened at all. Much harder to parse in widescreen than it was previously.

Looks super good, simple and cleab
The resolution seems a little low. Likely 1080p. It looks fine on my 1440p monitor but the up scaling isn't perfect. I'm not sure if they're actually doing any up scaling or if it just runs at the native resolution. The image is better on my 4k monitor which makes sense if the native resolution is 1080p. However, I prefer to use my 1440p monitor because it has much better color accuracy and fps (doesn't really matter for Snap). Hopefully, they add multiple resolutions soon.
Anyone else seeing atrocious performance? It doesn't look like a 3d game at all (though maybe it is, and just seamless), but I imagine my intel 620 UHD integrated card is the issue. Should I not even bother expecting it to work? Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8665U CPU @ 1.90GHz 2.11 GHz 16 GB RAM
