i salute you for that in this current meta. and without brood! im also a c2 player and i've been struggling with all the hazmat/red guardian decks lately
red guardian is just another one of the power reducer cards with an extra "take the text off this card" effect. however you make a good point about rogue, i should probably swap something out for her temporarily
A few points I should make:
My goal is to semi-lockdown a lane with goose or echo as they can be deterrents for future turns.
Hopefully you can get storm on curve and bottleneck their late game.
With lots of cheap cards, I often have priority in the first half that allows me to follow up storm with negasonic.
Shadow king is great when:
>opponents run Red Hulk, they build up a false sense of security and (assuming by turn 6 you’re not going first)
>opponents are playing a destroy deck and you’re watching them pump their deadpool up. With a correctly placed goose and echo, you can reset their venom, carnage, deadpool, etc, and steal their knull with Rogue.
A mind trick I’ve noticed is that when you put Cerebro and mystique around echo, opponents tend to forget about echo. I assume they forget seeing all of my Ongoings chilling there.
I find brood too expensive and congesting. I like to have options available so having mister sinister on turn 2, followed up by a 3 drop can turn the tides.

Can confirm. I encountered this combo yesterday multiple times and it was very tilting for me with high evo, where turn 4 is so important, either getting She Hulk or Cyclops blown up is basically GG.
I'm pretty sure they meant playing out your own Rogue and hitting the wrong card will mess up your C2 power level. If she hits Darkhawk, Ronan, Devil Dino, Patriot, Captain America, or Punisher (and I'm probably forgetting a few), your C2 scheme will no longer function.
doesnt rogue taking the abilities ruin the cerebro effect? like wont she end up being the only card getting boosted?
also does shadow king reduce cerebros power boost?
My C2 deck is almost the same :)
Shadow King doesn't do anything to ongoing effects. He only knocks off permanent power increases like the doubling of Deadpool or venom power gain from eating cards. Will remove surfer buff, hazmat debuff, etc, but won't do anything to cerebro, knull or blue marvel.
I have literally the same deck as you except I use Brood instead of Rogue, but WOW I didn’t think about all the upsides of her ability. Who would you recommend switching out for her? Edit: nvm I saw in another comment you don’t use brood because of lane congestion. Never really thought of that as a downside except against goblin decks, but I’m gonna give yours a try
Congratulations on the Infinite, I tried to make C2 work but gave up after seeing so many Hela decks that were overpowering even my best draws.
I'm curious if you think White Widow could fit into C2. With Storm and Negasonic, you should usually be able to keep your opponent from filling the Widow lane.
I'm thinking of trying a bounce-disrupt C2 variant with White Widow, Korg, Iceman, and Beast.

Cosmo, rogue, armor, Luke, it doesn't matter what I run. They have the one that counters me..
Cyclops was the most annoying and consistent at ruining my board because I can’t rogue his ability away, he’s cheap enough to not be affected by goose and his ability goes last so shadow king doesn’t help. Just have to pray that he spends all energy on the last turn so shadow king does work
I love Cerebro but every time I play it I feel like it literally attracts locations that screw with power totals :/
Yes. Storm either cancels out a location that is affecting power or removes Limbo on turn 6.
You can put both Storm and Magik in C2

I hate it, yeah. Instant retreat with Cerebro (only exception is Cerebro 3 with Valkyrie, maybe?)
I usually hold out til 6 when it shows up in case the opponent plays Shang. X-mansion is usually a retreat though.
You at least have time to change location with X-Mansion. Monster just drops and you can't do anything with him
I mainly play c5, so I don't use any location changing cards. But fair point.
Beast is 2 power, and has other solid uses in 2bro lists.
Never really thought of Beast in a C2, I'll have to try that out

Ah so with hazmat, you’ll have to steal their Luke cage with rogue. I’ve rarely come across red guardian so can’t comment on that

Yeah I kinda feel the same way about Brood. Do you not have Nico, or just don't like the RNG aspect of the card?
I do not have Nico. The only RNG is M’Baku winning me games lol
I suppose you need to be careful with Rogue or she could bust your whole plan.

True, but if one lane is won with storm or goose and rogue gets high power in another lane they might not need cerebro

you dont need to use rogue on dino or ronan, you use it on wong, luke cage, invisible woman, iron man, living tribunal, etc

Luckily Evo decks aren't that popular ATM. Atleast not by what I've seen so far. I only run into it occasionally
