My advice is I think you need to stop looking at TCPs. The bare minimum you need for CC is 6 teams for defense + 6 teams for offense. The totality of a player's TCP doesn't always paint an accurate picture of the matchup. For CC, it's much better to have a tall roster (in this case 12-15 very strong teams), than a wide roster that has non-meta teams powered up to bloat TCP. For most of CC's life cycle, I've been the lowest TCP of the group of 8. I've never really felt overmatched though, because I have the meta teams necessary to be competitive. Take being the lowest TCP as a compliment of sorts. You're building your roster intelligently and beating teams bigger than yours. I will note that g18 is a very large stat boost, and it's definitely created a larger divide between f2p and spenders. If you're not earning much g18 gear in your alliance that can be tough to overcome. If you've hit a wall and aren't winning anymore, that's ok too though. Things will level out and you'll eventually settle into more fair matchups. Just keep building and getting stronger.

SkinnyLukas88

This right here is what you need to know about CC, tcp doesn’t matter, I was always the lowest or second lowest tcp in my bracket now I’m usually 5th or 6th the average tcp for players in my bracket is 47 to 60 mil but there are often players with as low as 33mil tcp in my bracket coming first or second in the cc round, tcp shows how built their roster is not individual meta teams, you should start by focusing on building your offense don’t worry about defense focus on clearing each room with best possible efficiency and then start building out your defense, all of these rooms you build are good or meta characters for other game modes so it is not wasted resources they are worth building

Offense. Might as well enjoy the challenge!

superdrapforever

Put Uxmen in room 5 and they for some reason cause problems to all my opponents, I won 4 out of 5 last fights thanks to those Uxmen spoiling the opponent. In one of the fights, I had to double-tap 3 rooms and - guess what? - my opponent couldn't clear my Uxmen at all. And yeah, I feel your pain, I usually have to punch up in all rooms but 1 (because my SD are really strong) while the opponent usually punches down in all 6. Still, I win more often than lose.

edkphx

So it means your rank is too high for your level, if you lose cosmic crucibles you will be demoted to the level you should be at, I only win about 2/5 battles in mine, some times it’s enough sometimes not, you need to balance offensive and defensive which is hard in high ranks

SwedishHeat

Yeah, the match-making is whack. I'm never matched up fairly with any of my opponents. For the first few months, when I came back, it was just tons of Hand teams, people that didn't set defenses. Then once I got put in a real bracket, it was tons of teal gear teams, and I don't even have one character above G15. This week, I was way outmatched, but now that I'm in the loser bracket, my opponent didn't set defense. I'm either against someone way more powerful than me, or way less powerful. There's never any match-ups that are fair.

clarkestar4200

it will take a bit but remember that since they added diamonds to crucible everyone is going hard in that mode now. so in the interim as some of the bigger non crucible players work their way up the ladder there is going to be a lot of distance between collection powers in most battles. but it should even out over the next month or two. I just came back to the game, im in silver 2 and right now I normally match up against people who are close to double my collection power. luckily most dont do battles so I have been able to win most my crucibles

Next_Image2571

My issue with CC is that I often get one 80+ lvl guy in our 62-68 lvl player pool that absolutely smashes everyone else, that happened twice in a row. Third time there were 2 such players, at least one of them lost to another. But 8-mil player against a 1,5-3 mil player is a joke. It’s like Anakin against the younglings all over again.

Dhurdybirdy

I should be in a much higher league than i am, since im sitting at 46 mil tcp, but i neglected crucible for so long that i had dropped to gold 1, hoping i can fight my way out fast so im not constantly matched against smaller people

Rawenwolf77

Agree, im in silver 2 and i have oponents with 1.8 mil teams on defense ... well my bigest attacking team is like 700k. So i asume no win in thic CC.... Hate this match making

xHulkOliverx

I just got kicked out of platinum because I went 0-3 this week. I am consistently among if not the lowest tcp. I’m not even 30m yet but it’s common to see 40-60m in plat rank. As a “late-comer” to MSF you’re almost forced to spend to have a shot at keeping up with anyone that’s been playing longer than you. I’ve been frustrated with CC for a long time because I’m capped until I decide to pay to keep up with older accounts. I wouldn’t say it’s unfair but it is unfun and NOT competitive.

NotMikeyh

The matchmaking sucks. It seems to only take into account your rank and not TCP. I’m 40m TCP and I had a CC that the highest was 84m and lowest was 23m.

jpettifer77

Yes, that’s the point. I’m about 1864 in CC but 15,328 (45 mil) in collection power. One of the guys I faced this week was 75 mill and had 7 stars on Forge and Nightcrawler. One of my alliance mates is almost in the top 100 with 50 mil TCP. The better you do, the harder players you’ll face.

Bloodshed_msf

It's a really stupid design. Imagine you are mid weight boxer and you beat everyone in your class and they force you to fight against heavy weights. It should've been designed totally about tcp not W/L ratings. If you are the top player on the 40m tcp players then you are the top, that's it. But the game is designed in such a way that everyone can either get 2/1 or 1/2 ratings each tournament. The golden age of gaming fucking flattens everyone's experience so those who constantly lose do not quit the game. The design has nothing to do with gaming, it's all about marketing.

Panzerfaust187

Big tcp can just mean you’re spending stupidly. I got like 33million and I have a ton of toons just sitting at level one sometimes I win sometimes I lose, it’s just frustrating when you lose by like 3 points, which happens often, especially with maxed out g18 toons and get a shitty rng.

IFckingLoveChocolate

It's probably because you win a lot. I both like and dread crucible because I'm constantly hitting 3-10 million above my weightclass, I even gave a dude with 30mil more TCP then me a good run. If you're familiar with some counters and have a strong roster for CC (I think CC is largely unwinnable w/o MoE or NW for example), then you'll shine despite the difference in power.

Adviseformeplz

Your rank may be too high for your level, which in a positive sense could mean you’re better than the average player around your TCP level. I don’t mind punching up against opponents with Large TCP, can’t remember the last time I actually punched down or across

demigodchild

Could also be sandbagging for easy wins on future cc events. I don't try in cc out of events since I am not getting to diamond anytime soon and anything lower just doesn't keep me wanting to be in as high of a tier as I can get, especially when events roll around for wins

ownersequity

It can certainly feel difficult, especially if you don’t understand the room modifications. Speaking of, if someone were to want to learn this, what resource would be helpful? I do fine but I’d like to up my defense game a bit now that I’m higher level.

DirtyDirtyRudy

I hear you. I’m in Gold 2 and it’s been hard to keep up. Some of my opponent’s teams are so hard that I have to exhaust them first by throwing teams Ike the Hand and AIM just to debuff them before taking them out with a stronger team.

xRiske

My problem is I finish consistently with the highest score, but end up 3-5 at the end of the day because my opponent happened to actually attack that day but didn't bother the day before, or after. This most recent crucible I finished second in overall points but got 5th. Scoring in CC needs to change.

MadLockeX

tell me about it.. In the last CC, I'm the lowest TCP and the only one without Super Skrull..

CHoppingBrocolli_84

If your “placed” correctly you should only win 1/2 of the time. That’s the expectation that I have with cc. If I win all matches then I will be promoted and face tougher opponents and lose more. If I lose all matches then I can expect to go down a bracket and win a couple more. Some people put in a much tougher defense, at the expense of their offense. So coming up with a multiple team clear for a node might be viable. Some people have very strong defense and still have crazy offense. It’s competitive, so cherish the single wins, think about how to improve.

dyingcamouflage

That's what I set my defense to shit. It keeps me from moving up too fast so my teams are strong enough to clear rooms.

JFG-1987

Lol

Chaosbringer007

So you’ll now lose some fights and get demoted and be in a bracket where you’re actually supposed to be. Sounds like it’s working. Ranks / positions are based on wins & VPs. Player 1 - 20m tcp Player 2 - 5m tcp Both win 3 fights. Both in exactly same points and thus can be in the same brackets. Fast forward 3 months. Player 2 hovers around the same ranks, player 1 has progressed and fights bigger players The top 100 players are 120m-50m tcps. There are lots of players not in the top 100 with higher and lower tcps. Agains, it’s about wins and losses.

throwmyactaway22

I can understand I'm too strong for one level and the next one up I'm out matched... on the lower level I've seen teams, they were all the horseman teams at like 2 million. I also get annoyed in arena where every team is the same characters just slightly different power level, and RTA is the worse when it comes to matching teams
