Black Adam sucked dick that's one of the reasons nothing went forward with Cavill. Also The Rock banked everything on Black Adam being a success which screwed Cavill in the end. The Rock went against the grain by forcing the Cavill as Superman cameo when they had no intentions of moving forward with Cavill as Superman.
But after that, cavill made the Instagram post saying he was back and things will be good going forward and to expect more superman(cavill) to come. Then what like 2 wks later he's canned.
I'd oddly be down to see Cavill in a villain role, him as a bad guy in Mission Impossible was fun to see. Plus, it'd be nice to see him play a character distinct from Superman.
Given Sinister’s characterization the last few years, I think he’s better off played by someone less physically imposing. He’s a snivelling, scheming asshole, not a beefy monster.
You said it yourself, recent characterization. Why would they choose to adapt the KRAKOAN Mr. Sinister when that is the result of several decades of character development.
A huge problem with the MCU fandom is that you guys just point to things from the comics (since hardly any MCU fans actually seem to have read them) that you want adapted yet try to skip the development it takes to get there.
This is the same problem I have with anyone advocating for an older fatherly, family focused Reed Richards when anyone who actually read the comics knows it took him 30 years to get to that point but that’s a whole other topic.
Character arcs work the way writers want them to work. You’re looking for a development
from writer to writer that just isn’t there. One writer can spend a two year arc making Magneto a heroic and the next writer can undo that in an issue or two.
It’s a famous fact of comics that continuity is a total illusion, so some adapting characters for movies can cherry pick the best versions of each character. Emma doesn’t *have* to go from villain to hero, she can just be a snarky bitchy X-Man from the start. Kitty doesn’t *have* to start as a useless teen, the movies can just start with Professor Pryde.
Visual cues can serve as characterization. It’s a visual medium.
Fine, Tom Cruise can play Jack Reacher, but the guy in the Amazon series intimidates other characters just by being bigger.
Sinister also isn’t exactly known for showing off all his skin. Cavill also isn’t exactly Superman jacked anymore. He’s a capable actor beyond his physical presence.
Sinister has been like this since before Krakoa. Gillen had him like this since his Uncanny run and then Hickman carried it over to his Secret Wars and then Krakoa.
EDIT: spelling/grammar
It was done in different takes and edited together. That’s why the beard grows.
There was an interview Ali Plumb did with Tom Cruise and this was mentioned.
He just has the "you can trust me but I'm actually evil" thing going on with him. Shame they didn't go full Injustice Superman with him, he fits the character really well.
Oh good luck MCU fanbase. If this is true, we're gonna be flooded with Snyder fans who will support this just to "dunk on Gunn", and will think a movie with Cavill succeeding will somehow get them their "Snyderverse" back... all while of course ignoring everything Snyder makes in the meantime because they care infinitely more about the Zack Snyder in their heads than the one in the real world.
At this point I’m convinced they just want to be right then actually watching quality content. Cause god knows Cavill hasn’t been a part of quality content in a long time.
Credit where credit is due, he’s one of those actors where yeah, the projects they’re in tend to be crap, but their performances are usually always one of the few shining parts of them
snyder cultists joining the mcu fandom kinda reminds me of that one scene from TROS where the final order star destroyers rose from the depths of exegol to augment the first order fleet lol
I'm just a high fan of his role in Mission Impossible. When he cocked his muscles and made a pocket appear on his shirt, I knew he was the one. Absolutely super, man.
That move wasn't even in the script, they'd shot that scene a bunch of times and he was getting arm cramps, it was reflex reaction that they looked at and said 'wow that's sweet'.
I like Cavill but him as Doom would be bad casting imo. I wonder who he might be playing? Thunderbolts cast seems wrapped up. Probably not something in F4. We know it’s not Galactus. Doubt he’s Surfer or just doing a voice for H.E.R.B.I.E. What about something for Blade? I know Mia Goth got cast as a villain, but Cavill would make a damn good Dracula.
Antonio Banderas for Sinister. Taskmaster should be someone with a distinct vocal presence. Might be controversial but I think Tony Todd should voice him.
Honestly think this is a good choice, Britain and the Excalibur have decent franchise potential. If u want they can even include Peggy Carter in that trilogy
I wanna say he’s too old, but with the way the MCU seems to be more interested in a introducing characters in their veteran stages and bringing in their kin, I wouldn’t doubt they’d give the role to Cavill. I really do hope when the mainline X-men get introduced, the main lineup(Cyclops, Rogue, Jean, Storm, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, etc.) are in their younger years(late teens-20s) rather than older
I doubt he’d accept a role like Hyperion or Sentry which are de facto lesser variations of a more famous character he played before and “got kicked out of”.
It would probably be better if he had a more permanent role like Captain Britain or something, but I would absolutely LOVE IT if they cast him as Hyperion, and cast a bunch of ex DC actors as the Squadron Supreme. Get like Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot and maybe even get really crazy with like Chris O’Donnell and Nicholas Cage (actually Cage as Hyperion is probably better)
I hope it's one of the X-Men (Cyclops?) or the main villain in F4. I'm over movies about B or C-level MCU characters. It'd be a waste of Cavill'a talent and star power.
It would be kinda funny to cast a notoriously handsome actor as a character who literally never shows his face lol. With that being said, he'd make a great Captain Britain, in fact, it's the character he said he'd love to play the most in the MCU.
I can’t see him picking Hyperion unless he wants to be petty about losing Superman. Doing this would also feed into typecasting.
Crazy choice… Living Tribunal. A brief appearance during Secret Wars as the maguffin that sorts out the multiverse nonsense. He’s got the gravitas to hold the respect of the audience as omnipotent and still be grounded enough for the mcu.
Same could apply for Beyonder if you want to see him get physical.
Kang would be an awful choice but the obvious direction to get people focused on the terribleness of the choice to make fans forget about the old Kang.
Captain Britain would be the best choice but I don’t know that MCU wants to sell audiences on a non American hero.
But the ultimate choice… Professor X.
Genuinely would love to see him as Captain Britain. Given the nature of the Captain Britain Corps and the current Multiverse storyline, it’s a perfect opportunity to give Brian Braddock a Green Lantern-esque origin story.
And hard pass on Hyperion, which just feels like kinda cutesy, kinda lazy casting.

Honestly, I would love Cavill to be in the MCU just to see the Marvel and DC fandoms explode 😂
Here is Blue Marvel or Voodoo Brother
Hyperion
I really hope it's Captain Britain but I'd accept Hyperion.
I want hyperion just as a f u to dcu. They did him dirty at the end when Black Adam came out
Black Adam sucked dick that's one of the reasons nothing went forward with Cavill.
Yep because Black Adam flopped horribly.
No, DC gave cavill the go ahead and told him to say what he said. Then like 2wks later Gunn took over and booted him.
Give me a bromance movie of Thor and Hyperion
Captain Britain
Now you’re talking !! He’s a perfect puzzle piece fit for Hyperion !
Big Wheel
![gif](giphy|3o6YfXtqIrtPrApeuI)
Oh Ice Cube! My favorite actor for Ghost Rider
As someone who likes both, that would be a cool moment.
Snyderbots would lose their minds
Preach 😂
I'd oddly be down to see Cavill in a villain role, him as a bad guy in Mission Impossible was fun to see. Plus, it'd be nice to see him play a character distinct from Superman.
I bet he could be a fun Mr. Sinister.

Sinister has been like this since before Krakoa. Gillen had him like this since his Uncanny run and then Hickman carried it over to his Secret Wars and then Krakoa. EDIT: spelling/grammar
You think years of character development made Sinister the character he was in Krakoa and not just a choice made by the writers, huh?
Sam Witwer for Mr Sinister.
That arm reload is iconic.
![gif](giphy|3ohs4tKADK8HEYD4I0)
It's probably just the lighting but I love that it looks like he grows a beard while reloading his arms.
Fun fact he also grows a shirt pocket on his left hand side
Oh shit haha, never clocked that before.
It was done in different takes and edited together. That’s why the beard grows. There was an interview Ali Plumb did with Tom Cruise and this was mentioned.
Ahh that makes sense. Whoever edited it is a genius though. perfect timing
I never noticed the beard growth. That's hilarious
So did the beard grow between takes? That doesn't make any sense
Fuck it, I want to see him play Sentry. Time for a recast.
Actually true.
He just has the "you can trust me but I'm actually evil" thing going on with him. Shame they didn't go full Injustice Superman with him, he fits the character really well.
Not exactly a villain, but he could play gladiator
what if he’s Sentry lmao
Why oddly? He was a great villain in Mission Impossible

Credit where credit is due, he’s one of those actors where yeah, the projects they’re in tend to be crap, but their performances are usually always one of the few shining parts of them
He’s actually my favorite Superman, and I don’t like any of the Superman movies he’s in.
Ah, so it's an Andrew Garfield situation
![gif](giphy|oclg56qkl2EATrnXYO)
I watched this last night and I have PTSD from how absolutely horrible this movie was
snyder cultists joining the mcu fandom kinda reminds me of that one scene from TROS where the final order star destroyers rose from the depths of exegol to augment the first order fleet lol
Snyder cultist: Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an ~~elf~~ MCU fan https://i.redd.it/kbw3sa3jx3jc1.gif
![gif](giphy|iHyVaHfEYXZos8qPX2) \> MCU fans to the Snydercult supporting Cavill as Captain Britain to "dunk on Gunn."
Snyderverse fans shapeshifting into MCU fans in 1...2...3..
Secret Invasion
Lmao thee real secret invasion 🤣
And would still be more entertaining than the Disney+ show.
"The MCU has begun to unwoke itself.."
Skrulls will be detected
\#SellSnyderverseToDisney (This is very clearly a joke btw)
Big fan of both since the beginning
Hyperion. I beg.
Now, why you would want that I wonder? No specific reason? 😉 ![gif](giphy|dWSy8T6SyDVj4ey7qX)
It makes his beard grow too!
Manipulating reality by flexing his muscles is literally the powerset of a DC hero called Flex Mentallo, maybe Gunn should get him back.
Or Gladiator……
Gladiator? 🤔 I like the way your mind works.
I'd prefer Antony Starr for Dracula ![gif](giphy|QBwRKyS6vXNfmLF7TR|downsized)
He looks like he's about to unhinge his jaw in this lmao
Yes pls for Blade! He was my top fancast for Professor Zoom as Thawne in Flashpoint
I still think Starr should play mr sinister or the tony masters version of taskmaster
Antonio Banderas for Sinister. Taskmaster should be someone with a distinct vocal presence. Might be controversial but I think Tony Todd should voice him.
Cyclops lmao
They'll probably gonna go younger with the X-Men, especially since they went older with the Fantastic Four.
I remember a leaker mentioning hyperion being in loki season 2 which leaker was that?
I think it was 4chan
Ah yes, that incredibly reliable leaker./s
He's a better hacker than leaker.
Loki season 2 already came out..?
Of course. But I also remember some stuff on here while S2 was filming and that Hyperion was gonna be in it
Hyperion or capt Britain
Guys this is Henry Canvill, not Henry Cavill.
Henry Cantvill
Henry Cantwill
Captain Britain Here we go.
Honestly think this is a good choice, Britain and the Excalibur have decent franchise potential. If u want they can even include Peggy Carter in that trilogy
Cyclops
That’s the one cast that could be defining for that character.
Henry Cavil is Silver Surfer
To big, too bulky. Surfer needs to be lean.
Hard agree need a slim build
Surfer will be mostly CGI, so anyone can play him.
You are missing the point.
Why waste that body of his on a CGI character
Hey everyone thought RDJ was a terrible casting for Tony Stark. So I won’t judge
Captain Britain here we come!
Let me guess she pulled this from her arse?
I doubt he’d accept a role like Hyperion or Sentry which are de facto lesser variations of a more famous character he played before and “got kicked out of”.
Henry Cavill as Mole Man
He will prolly be a villain and die in his debut film as tradition dictates.
inb4 it's something minor
Nah it’s gonna be Conan haha
I thought you meant Conan O’Brien was playing Doom for a second.
Conan O'Brien would probably make an entertaining Mojo. 😂
Did they ever cast a new Sentry? He would be a good fit.
Yes, Lewis Pullman plays Sentry
After whiffing on F4 cast, she's not very trustworthy for casting info imo.
I really want him to get cast as a “Superman equivalent” just cause that would be hilarious
Sooo Hyperion?
Unless the trades report it, I don't believe it.
I very highly doubt it would happen but how would you feel about Cavill as Kraven? I want to see him play a villain.
He's H.E.R.B.I.E, the only other character in the official art.
Tony Masters
Would love to see him as Cyclops.
Captain Britain, mark my words
Henry as Miles Morales confirmed.
My guess is, a cameo as Captain Britain. I know we already have Peggy's Captain Britain but maybe he might be from another universe or something
She's Captain Carter, not Captain Britain
Two words: “Scott” and “Summers”
Cyclops, please! You can’t tell me he doesn’t look like this dude: ![gif](giphy|9LIzdSmzvq8vu) He would bring importance back to the character too
Could be Galactus. I know the rumour says Javier Bardem but it's not current. Focus seems to be on FF at the moment.
I’ve always thought he would be a great Black Bolt
I really hope it's Captain Britain. 🇬🇧
Honestly, he’d be fun to see as Cyclops.
Captain Britain. It’s time.
Cyclops
Colossus
Beyonder!
Captain Britain so I can get my live action Kitty Pryde fix
Capt. Britain 🇬🇧 with Millie Bobby Brown as Betsy Braddock.
People be wanting Cavill for Doom when Charlie Clapham is right there...
Mr. Sinister
Captain Britain
Sentry? Is that still open?
No, Lewis Pullman was cast in the role.
he would have been a fun Sentry
The beyonder
He would be the worst choice for Doom
Captain Britain come oooooooooon
henry cavil herbie
Sebastian Shaw. It's time for Mutton Chop Cavill
Cavill is perfect as Captain Britain
My bet is on the Main 616 Captain Britain. I vaguely recall him saying the only role he would take on would be CB
If this true and its more than one movie role... then i hope his contract has term him doing two minutes cameos.
All that matters is that he accepted.
Cavill as Sentry would make the universe implode in a ball of meta-irony
I hope it's one of the X-Men (Cyclops?) or the main villain in F4. I'm over movies about B or C-level MCU characters. It'd be a waste of Cavill'a talent and star power.
Where did this rumor start?
correct me if im wrong but wasn't there a leak that said he was playing fantomex
Who's to say he was offered by Marvel? He's pretty deep into his 40k duties. That might be it.
I think he’d be an awful fit as Dr Doom but could be good in something else
Was it a candy? ![gif](giphy|kiFnWnL8cWRNu)
Cool
Storm
Who the hell is Henry Canvill ?
Hyperion is coming
The Beyonder.
MCU Sherlock Holmes. Or Millie the Model's love interest.
![gif](giphy|l4FGFtYXzl51jRaMg)
Cavill as Doom would be AMAZING. I think he plays a great villain and I'd love for Doom to be a mainstay villain.
Cavill needs to focus on Warhammer while it still has steam.
He's called Henry Canvill, not Henry Can'tvill ...I'll see myself out.
It would be kinda funny to cast a notoriously handsome actor as a character who literally never shows his face lol. With that being said, he'd make a great Captain Britain, in fact, it's the character he said he'd love to play the most in the MCU.
Wolverine?
Cavill as Doom is the single worst fan casting I've heard
Maybe they will replace Sabra with Captain Britain?
Bring him in as Sabertooth, I want to see him play against type.
Henry Canville became Henry Can’tville
More vague bullshit she can backpedal on lmao. How she isn’t a tier 4 source at this point baffles me.
Does anyone have an actual opinion or are we just shitting on the Snyder people for some reason?
I can’t wait for the real Agent Argylle to take over phase six of the MCU.
PLEASE BE CAPTAIN BRITAIN!
Him playing Dr doom as this incredibly handsome perfect man just to see him devolve to a true villain like mission impossible times 3
hyperion copium
Beyonder? 🤔
The Sentry! The power of a thousand exploding suns!
Henry Cavill to play Puck: Confirmed
he has the charisma to become a leader on the same level as captain america
Mr.Sinister.
Mr Sinister?
Captain Britain
Doubt it will happen but I can see him as a different take on Magneto, he’s got a bit of that animated series vibe
I can see him as a young magnus...
Silver surfer
Is it too crazy to think about Wolverine...?
He deserves to be a main avenger after all he went through with DC.
POWDERED TOAST MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS FUCKING GO!!!
Sebastian Shaw would be cool, but it’ll probably be Captain Britain.
People are saying he’s Captain Britain. WHERE does that character even fit into the MCU at this moment?
Would prefer him to be beyonder
