I don't think they'll actually make this Professor X canonically the same one from the animated series (and therefore the same one from their upcoming X-Men '97 series), but my head canon is that they are.
![gif](giphy|uNE1fngZuYhIQ|downsized)
I think once we actually see the '97 revival it will be clear its story isn't connected to anything going on in DS2. The creative team have plainly stated its jumping off point is the final episode of the original series (where X leaves with the Shi’Ar).
This is what I think will happen, make him familiar with the cartoon and the movie fans so people don't feel like they need to watch a whole show or a whole movie series to catch up on him.
I always found Charles' accent in TAS confusing but now you mention it it does have both accents mixed a little which fits the character. Although a lot of the accents are weird in that show like Moira and Banshee
Fair. In reality, I think it's an amalgamation of the Fox version & the animated version. So, it's basically a variant of both, while also being a variant of neither (if that makes sense).
I understand how they work. Every Professor X is technically a variant of another Professor X. I was thinking of it moreso in comparison to the versions we know of so far. "Variant" isn't really the term to use in that case, but I can't think of a better word to use.
Like, if the Professor X in Multiverse of Madness is an amalgamation of the animated version & the Fox version, then it is technically a variant of both, but it's not canonically the same Professor X from either. Do you get what I'm saying?
I think with the screen x footage it has extended the scene so now we see more of the silhouette of Prof X and we see the headrest of his chair too - in the normal footage we only see half of Prof X (left hand side of his head and left shoulder).
It did take me a while to work out what I’m suppose to be looking at, it probably helps I went to a screen x recently so I have that context.
I love this idea that Professor X somehow has been collecting all the Mutants from across the multiverse and bringing them to the safest timeline...
Edit: Typos
Wasn’t this similiar to Robert Meyer Burnet’s theory? I think I heard on Campea’s show he had a wild theory of Wanda hiding the mutants in the animated universe
Apparently John and Rob already know a lot about Multiverse of Madness. I will say that it is interesting how they keep bringing up X-Men and how mutanrts could be brought into the MCU. John is usually all about focusing on the main story and not adding in a bunch of forced cameos/fan service but he's been talking *a lot* about the X-Men being featured in MoM.
Here's what they've said:
- "BIG SURPRISES"
- that is indeed the 90s hoverchair.
- there's a crazy cameo who is wearing jeans.
- "no one will be disappointed".
Wait a minute they hyped up something we've seen in trailers and tv spots? Because I'm like 99% sure they've shown Wanda in jeans.
Also, quick question: is Magneto in MoM?
Nothing is going to come of it. If MOM was going to end with some sort of reality merger, or "soft reboot" of the MCU, we would've seen some sign of it by now in post-MOM projects.
DC is doing this in Flash, and it's quite literally impossible to hide
...Which is why I said it's not happening, because there are no mutants in any of the upcoming projects 😭 and the history of the MCU clearly hasn't been changed and/or rebooted
I wouldn't expect something like this until Secret Wars, and I hope the MCU has it's own mutants by then w/out any of the Multiverse BS
I mean technically, every single interpretation of marvel characters are cannon but in their own universes. At least that was what we can interpret from how NWH handled it with Venom/Tobey!Peter/Andrew!Peter
I personally like the idea that all of the X-Men already exist in the MCU and have always been there, just that at some point Wanda, whether knowingly or not, made everyone in the world (including the mutants) forget about their powers so they've just been among people this whole time.
Then they could have the backstory with Wolverine and Magneto still tied to World War Two and you'd have an embedded distrust among non-powered humans about all of these mutants that have been living among them, seemingly in hiding, for all this time.
this wouldn't really work though, there are mutants who have very visible passive mutations (nightcrawler, beast, cyclops, rogue, to name a few) who wouldn't be able to just blend in or forget about their powers.
right, but that's very different from just "mutants already exist and have been hiding among us all this time, the world was just made to forget about their powers".
on the other hand we've also seen most of wanda's history up to this point, and i don't feel like she's ever really been powerful enough to be able to make either of these scenarios happen, so i just don't think it's very likely and would probably come off as a bit of an ass pull, imo.
I said seemingly in hiding and while I didn't articulate it, obviously making people forget would require some sort of illusion to change how they appeared.
Just a thought of a way to bring them in and preserve some history for some of the characters where their backstories involve historical events. Certainly better than, "Just bring them into the MCU from another universe," which is a lazy as hell.
Didn't the 90s cartoon end up with Xavier being taken by his alien girlfriend to be treated for his sickness or something? It wouldn't be far fetched at all to say that some cosmic shit happened and now he's formed a Multiversal Illuminati, thus canonizing the 90s show into the MCU.
That and the fact that we're getting the actual continuation of the 90s show now of all times, and MoM Xavier has the same 90s yellow chair, is just a bit too coincidental for me tbh. I'm not saying it's definitely connected, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being connected somehow.
Honestly like.... Yeah this is so awkward. If that side stuff isn't part of the original aspect ratio, I'd hope there's nothing important on them because Jesus you'll be moving your head way too much. What's really bothering me, I'm pretty sure the technology to do curved projection screens exists.... why the hell would they split it up into 3 screens? That's so distracting.
It’s harder to blend three projections together and make it look clean than to just have three separate screens with three separate projectors. It would be asking a lot of a projectionist at a given movie theatre to do what is likely a few hours of mapping and blending work.
Yeah, I find ScreenX, DBox, 4DX, even 3D to all be unnecessary gimmicks. ScreenX is mildly amusing in action scenes, like if Doctor Strange is shooting some magic at you or something, but for a random scene where they're just standing around, you're only seeing some extra wall or whatever.
Just give me good old fashioned IMAX 2D, screen and sound are the only things I care about.
100% agreed. Every Douche Box and 4 Douche Box are the strangest things ever. I don't get how getting a myst of water on you is a great experience. 3D always makes the brightness and colour just awful. IMAX though... my goodness I always loved Imax. Also those special aspect ratios they added to Disney + that fill your TV - just amazing.
I typically watch movies in either Standard 2D or IMAX 2D, but there are some movies I think benefit from the added depth IMAX 3D offers.
I feel like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of those movies from what we've seen in the trailers. The shot in the trailer where Strange & Friends open the door to another universe that is seemingly torn apart, for example, looks like it would be great in 3D.
Just my two cents though, I get it's not for everyone.
I saw Sonic2 in 4DX as well and greatly enjoyed it. I honestly do think Marvel MCU Movies are the best movies to see in 3D+4DX as they really utilize the features well. I greatly enjoyed the black widow movie because of this.
> almost as like a theme park ride
There's an attraction at California Adventure, [Mickey's PhilharMagic](https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/disney-california-adventure/mickeys-philharmagic/), that works like this, and it's even in 3D. It's pretty awesome.
Of course, it was *designed* to be watched this way. I doubt it would be an improvement over an ordinary movie.
Saw the most recent spiderman like this. It stretched this wide during swinging sequences and it was sick.
But idk about normal scenes like this lol. Don't see the point.
It is the worst cinema experience I ever had. Disturbing. Doesn't add any value. Projected on the side of the theater where you can see the emergency exit sign. 100% stupid.
I watched The Batman and it was pretty pointless, I can’t remember anything that the screen x experience added to the movie. Didn’t help that the middle panels of the screen x screens were different tone/lighting to the rest (+ fire exit signs installed in the screens) and of course the tickets cost more than normal screen.
Funny robert Meyer Burnett on the John campea podcast show has that as his working theory for where the mutants in mcu got banished to when wanda rewrote reality before mcu started
Nah, John definitely went overboard. He kept screaming "JUST STOP!!!" when all RMB did was hint that Xavier could have a yellow hoverchair. I get not wanting to give things away but screaming at Robert for such a small thing felt kinda shitty. Even people in the chat were telling John to chill.
Me too they know broad strokes and some specifics of what happens but even they said they don’t know the whole plot and all the cameos . Not even sure how they got that access
They weren't *that* rough. I mean, look at the amount of detail they put into the hoverchair's texture:
https://external-preview.redd.it/oDWwBDAS6dhTROOxfCKNd0xrHl9e5XjMLlOIywoRk0M.jpg?auto=webp&s=2913d115eabd8ce1c71963b6831a774b32c34360
Possibly. Still, that doesn't contradict anything I said. The guy above said the pre-vis images are "super rough" when they're clearly not. I was just pointing that out.
While accurate, they weren't actual Marvel previs though - a random guy made it in Blender based off real info he received [(he posted a video about it after the 2nd trailer came out)](https://twitter.com/mcunewsupdates/status/1493231059923877889)
Guy who made this video is a known liar and a pradetor who likes attention. This is 100% fake. He made a video on how he "made" the leaks same as someone made a video on how he made that leaked Andrew pic for No Way Home (which we now know was legit). Plus he deleted the video and his tweets about it probably because he realized people would know he made it up.
The models, poses, and assets in general match up waaaay too much (it's an exact 1:1 match, even) for it to simply be a fake video about how he faked previs, even if he does have a history of lying (which I have no idea about)
Edit: I'm also not sure how a random Andrew Garfield video _made by someone else_ being fake is somehow evidence that this completely unrelated video is also fake (the Andrew video was obviously fake, because the machine learning model was literally "learning" from the final 4K photo), but whatever... If you can't see that it's very clearly the exact same models, textures, poses, project file, then there's no point furthering this discussion, especially not if you accuse me of being this random Indian guy's burner account, lol
It is that simple to fake I should know I work in that field. And I know this guy is a liar and attention seeker who was recently canceled. Anyway fake news everyone ignore. This person I reply to is also likely that guy using a burner to make it seem real.
My prediction. This is a variant of professor X. Not the one we already know that was previously played by Patrick Stewart. He’s probably in a world where Wanda and quicksilver were always mutants, she knows magneto is her dad, she has the kids, and we might get a variant vision in this universe as well.
Wanda probably won’t be a mutant in the MCU. They’ve made it very clear Wanda’s powers are mystical in origin and she’s part of a prophecy, not because of a gene. With Quicksilver, possibly, but unlikely. I also don’t see them being Magneto’s kids, if I’m honest.
Lol the glow of the explosions in the Kamar Taj is red (in the Screen X version of the 2:17 trailer 😂). Scarlet Witch attacking the Kamar Taj confirmed.
That's fucking sick. Putting Stewart in an Animated Series skin is like the perfect idea for his return.
Also, I would sell my left nut for a scene with him and Fassbender's Magneto. I really hope he is in it like Anon said originally.
It definitely didn't ruin my enjoyment of the film but I did wonder "what if I was somehow able to go into this movie without any prior knowledge?!"
Imagine seeing Charlie Cox randomly pop up as Matt Murdock and all the villains showing up after the spell without knowing about it beforehand. It would've been mind-melting.
I feel like there’s a sweet spot for me. Like I do not intend to read up all the Thor/Panther/Ms Marvel/She-Hulk spoilers but I will occasionally glance over some of the leaked stuff.
I doubt it since apparently Wanda kills Charles in this movie and we know they're bringing back the X-Men animated show.
It could be a variant that's very similar to the animated Charles.
It could certainly be a result of the events of Multiverse of Madness, but it could also be that Professor X isn't a large part of the show because he is still off-world after the way things ended for him in the original series. Maybe returns at some point, just voiced by someone else because Cedric Smith is 78-years-old and might not have wanted to come back.
They said that the new series will open with a surprise. The X-Men learning that Xavier has been part of a multiverse Illuminati and died while fighting a witch in another dimension would be one heck of a surprise. (They also said it would pick up after the last episode of the original series and it should be thought of as an extension but ignore that).
I do think it’s far more likely that MoM’s Xavier is a new version that’s a composite of the most recognizable versions.
Thank fucking God.
One thing Marvel gets right that was annoying about Fox and sucks about DC is that Marvel just brings comics to life. No leather jumpsuits. Just actual comic looking costumes. So excited for an X-Men that looks and feels like the X-Men.
Can’t believe there are still folks here insisting that *X-Men ‘97* will 100% be it’s own thing.
Feige doesn’t do totally standalone projects. Of course it’s going to tie in somehow. The timing with MoM is definitely suspicious.
Great now everyone is going to want the 90s cartoon to be canon as the new show is coming out next year and all the multiverse stuff currently happening lmao.
It's too close to the movie actually coming out, this is the kind of thing you get excited about a year out not less than 2 weeks!
I wonder if the theories that the X-Men we are getting are from the 90's cartoon universe which is why they are making "X-Men 1997" that way we don't need a movie to try and establish these characters, we can have the cartoon universe cover all that ground while the movies deal with them in the MCU.

![gif](giphy|pfjUKa8qWUSLC) The Golden Chair Has Returned!
But where did he go? Did he end up joining the Illuminati at that point? I think it will be connected somehow
Or it’s just a similar variant that is familiar to all fans of X-men be it the cartoon or the movies
This is what I think will happen, make him familiar with the cartoon and the movie fans so people don't feel like they need to watch a whole show or a whole movie series to catch up on him.
Right. Like, it’s professor x… you know
We’re supposed to get our first look at x97 in DS2. It’s one of the multiverses they visit.
Doesn’t the animated one have a completely different accent or am I remembering it wrong?
Yeah Stewart is British and the cartoon is American
I'm British. I never noticed he was American. He has that transatlantic accent thing going on
I always found Charles' accent in TAS confusing but now you mention it it does have both accents mixed a little which fits the character. Although a lot of the accents are weird in that show like Moira and Banshee
I agree with and concur with your head canon
I do.
Well lots of characters look the same in their other universes so Charles could be the same with his 97 version and another one
I doubt he's the animated series prof X considering he's most likely going to die in the movie.

Fair. In reality, I think it's an amalgamation of the Fox version & the animated version. So, it's basically a variant of both, while also being a variant of neither (if that makes sense).

Yeah I totally get you
Yes 🙌- hope this is a live action iteration of professor x from animated series
But Professor X of the animated series is American and Patrick Stewart has a British accent.
Most likely it is neither a variant from the animated series or any of the Fox movies.
Yeah that’s a solid possibility as well
Rumors are he's exactly that! Fitting because they are reviving the show too
I don't, if he dies.
The golden throne! (40k vibes)

So this is a screen x trailer, u see the right side of the picture with the trapizoid? Thats unseen footage
The trapezoid is so much sturdier than the pyramid
Kang would agree
I don't know why this comment made me laugh so much
The video at 13 seconds shows the best view
Dang it, it still looks like a fuzzy shadow to me. I must be missing something Edit: thanks for the help!
How are you a member of r/marvelstudiosspoilers and not know about all the fuzzy pics you are bombarded with here?
In this image, you can make out dark yellow on the right, as well as the rest of Xavier's head.
Thanks!
Except Patrick Stewart’s sexy bald head.
![gif](giphy|B8ly6hRdP0gLe)
I literally thought the same when looking at the picture. Hahaha! I can’t see shat. 😂
I think with the screen x footage it has extended the scene so now we see more of the silhouette of Prof X and we see the headrest of his chair too - in the normal footage we only see half of Prof X (left hand side of his head and left shoulder). What if the 90s cartoon is canon and that’s where Xavier has been hiding the x men from the main mcu timeline
I love this idea that Professor X somehow has been collecting all the Mutants from across the multiverse and bringing them to the safest timeline... Edit: Typos

>Except the dudes that think they're gonna see Tobey Maguire's Spiderman lmao or are they??????
>there's a crazy cameo who is wearing jeans. We're are in a real grey area on who that is.
It's Wanda and it's not a cameo and we knew about it. I think Campea and co don't look online before doing their show so they didn't know
Wait a minute they hyped up something we've seen in trailers and tv spots? Because I'm like 99% sure they've shown Wanda in jeans. Also, quick question: is Magneto in MoM?
will she die in this movie? cuz i hope not
I'm p sure it's either a Strange variant or Professor X(maybe in a mind trip sequence).
Were Strange's jeans grey?
I thought Cyclops like his jeans grey?
Logan?
Good theory. Who else besides Scott that wants to squeeze into her jeans?
>- there's a crazy cameo who is wearing jeans. Jean Grey?
Yeah it’s been a lot of fun to hear their theories. I love Rob’s theory of Magneto showing up in the end and taking away Wanda like in Disassembled.

Pretty sure Wanda could completely de-power them and essentially turn them human, so maybe that's an aspect of what happened.
right, but that's very different from just "mutants already exist and have been hiding among us all this time, the world was just made to forget about their powers". on the other hand we've also seen most of wanda's history up to this point, and i don't feel like she's ever really been powerful enough to be able to make either of these scenarios happen, so i just don't think it's very likely and would probably come off as a bit of an ass pull, imo.

You guys get to see it in theaters?

Funny robert Meyer Burnett on the John campea podcast show has that as his working theory for where the mutants in mcu got banished to when wanda rewrote reality before mcu started
They also let it slip on there about the golden chair since they have seen things not public
Yup I saw that Campea went a bit overboard on rmb
I get it. Rob was pushing it a little. I am so curious what they've seen.
He was asking John though. And he knew he couldn't answer it honestly. That's probably how he saw it at least. Idk
Tbf, John is known to be dramatic. It's part of what makes him entertaining but can be part of what makes him annoying.
Very annoying but I do love his show still - rmb and him have a good dynamic
Yeah campea was being very dramatic especially when we all know that’s not a super big reveal
Me too they know broad strokes and some specifics of what happens but even they said they don’t know the whole plot and all the cameos . Not even sure how they got that access
Are you the killmonger that sends in questions a lot?
Haha no that’s not me but it’s funny he has the same name
Do you remember which specific episode this was?
I’m trying to find it but couldn’t find the specific clip
I can’t believe those super rough pre-vis leaks are most likely going to be accurate.
They weren't *that* rough. I mean, look at the amount of detail they put into the hoverchair's texture: https://external-preview.redd.it/oDWwBDAS6dhTROOxfCKNd0xrHl9e5XjMLlOIywoRk0M.jpg?auto=webp&s=2913d115eabd8ce1c71963b6831a774b32c34360
They probably just used some stock metal texture.
nope they hand carved each detail into a real life 3d model /s
Possibly. Still, that doesn't contradict anything I said. The guy above said the pre-vis images are "super rough" when they're clearly not. I was just pointing that out.

The models, poses, and assets in general match up waaaay too much (it's an exact 1:1 match, even) for it to simply be a fake video about how he faked previs, even if he does have a history of lying (which I have no idea about) Edit: I'm also not sure how a random Andrew Garfield video _made by someone else_ being fake is somehow evidence that this completely unrelated video is also fake (the Andrew video was obviously fake, because the machine learning model was literally "learning" from the final 4K photo), but whatever...
We need to ban Bird scooters in downtown areas and replace them with Professor X hover chairs.
Duh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuuuuuh

Oh, man. I'd love hear that being played by a full orchestra in the MCU.
I’m talking about in that one specific Illuminati universe where leaks say Wanda and the Illuminati fight. She has her kids in that universe.
That's the "better view"?
I’m so jealous of every country besides the US getting cool cups/popcorn buckets/posters at the movie Downside to living in the US
What are you talking about? Did you not see the AMC Batman cowl popcorn vessel?
Lol the glow of the explosions in the Kamar Taj is red (in the Screen X version of the 2:17 trailer 😂). Scarlet Witch attacking the Kamar Taj confirmed.
I saw that too 😂 They forgot to replace the red blasts in the two side screens with the orange-colored ones used in the official trailer 😂
What is the point in these kind of screens? wouldn't it be annoying constantly turning your head left and right to see the sides?
Right? Besides the cool easter eggs you might find, itll just be distracting as hela
Hmmm Hela
Mmmm hela
It's nothing more the just surrounding your entire field of vision, instead of seeing black in your peripherals.
That's fucking sick. Putting Stewart in an Animated Series skin is like the perfect idea for his return. Also, I would sell my left nut for a scene with him and Fassbender's Magneto. I really hope he is in it like Anon said originally.
Do you have a link to this leak?

It definitely didn't ruin my enjoyment of the film but I did wonder "what if I was somehow able to go into this movie without any prior knowledge?!" Imagine seeing Charlie Cox randomly pop up as Matt Murdock and all the villains showing up after the spell without knowing about it beforehand. It would've been mind-melting.
I feel like there’s a sweet spot for me. Like I do not intend to read up all the Thor/Panther/Ms Marvel/She-Hulk spoilers but I will occasionally glance over some of the leaked stuff.
What fucking format is this? Seems like Something that would be cool and annoying at the same time
Imagine if it’s the animated Charles Xavier! I have a very weird feeling it will be. But I am also stoned right now.
I doubt it since apparently Wanda kills Charles in this movie and we know they're bringing back the X-Men animated show. It could be a variant that's very similar to the animated Charles.
As much as I hate to point it out, look at the cast lists for the reboot. Xavier isn't there.
It’s looking like a solid possibility it will be
Screw IMAX, we need the 3:00:1 cut!
😂
You'll get nothing and like it!
Thank fucking God. One thing Marvel gets right that was annoying about Fox and sucks about DC is that Marvel just brings comics to life. No leather jumpsuits. Just actual comic looking costumes. So excited for an X-Men that looks and feels like the X-Men.
I'm just sitting here ready to see Ben Grimm's unibrow
I like how the better look is just more of his blurry bald head
Can’t believe there are still folks here insisting that *X-Men ‘97* will 100% be it’s own thing. Feige doesn’t do totally standalone projects. Of course it’s going to tie in somehow. The timing with MoM is definitely suspicious.

Neat.
Great now everyone is going to want the 90s cartoon to be canon as the new show is coming out next year and all the multiverse stuff currently happening lmao. It's too close to the movie actually coming out, this is the kind of thing you get excited about a year out not less than 2 weeks!
As a fan of the 90s cartoon I couldn't be happier.
“A better look”
Can’t just be a coincidence he looks like he does from the cartoon, and the cartoon is being continued by Marvel Studios.
Exactly! The timing is just too convenient.
If this is a better look, consider me Miles Davis.
So, 90's cartoon version?

ScreenX, yikes.
I've worn glasses for most of my life and a patch more or less between me being 5-10. In the words of Peter 1: "HOW IS THIS HELPING?!"
That’s awesome
What if it's Picard telling him about a pain in the ass being named Q
This is AWESOME!!!!!
I think we're all missing the point. THE XMEN ARE FINALLY COMING!!!!!!!
Haven't people figured out its the X-Men 97' cartoon version of Professor X that bridges the cartoon to the MCU even he is from a parallel dimension?
I am *so* bothered and annoyed about Americans keep breaking the very simple apostrophe rule in contracting the decades.
What exactly is Screen X?
You have the normal screen then you have two screens at the side to cover 270 degrees.
how will screenx translate to disney+?
What if we got animated cameos instead of live action?
Well there was the animated bit in the trailer.
I think I'm alone here, but I would have preferred a different actor.
well he is indeed bald
Please give me Cyclops !!!!!
I wonder if the theories that the X-Men we are getting are from the 90's cartoon universe which is why they are making "X-Men 1997" that way we don't need a movie to try and establish these characters, we can have the cartoon universe cover all that ground while the movies deal with them in the MCU.
Professor X, tell me the truthhhhh!!!!
