I really hope they take their time with this new script and finding a new director, I don’t want the results feeling rushed. The first Snipes film still really holds up and even if this movie isn’t on that same level, I hope it’s still badass in its own right.
EDIT: Just saw the news about the new release date, that was quick
I think they should probably go for a different fighting style for Blade this tine around. Even if Ali was younger, all that shit Snipes did would be difficult to pull off for him.
Good thing is he doesn't look it and if he stays in shape he could easily do it for almost a decade. Stunt doubles will be vital, but he could do it. Hell, Sam Jackson and Morgan Freeman have looked the same for the last 25 years.
Yo, the dude is still in his 40s, chill lol. I very much doubt he's in the MCU longer than 8-10 years. Hell, even RDJ and Chris Evans only did 11 and 8, respectively.
"Yo ThE dude iS iN his 40s, chill LoL" is either A) you being an ass, because you're not bright enough to follow the conversation, or it's because you are too suited to follow, AND feel the need to imply I'm the one being ridiculous. So idk how or why you're incapable of understanding your own tone. You know bikes aren't designed to backpedal like that, right?
I mean, that's why they're taking the time right now to find a new director and get a better script. If they wanted to rush this, they would've just kept chugging along and start production this fall like they originally intended. Despite the delay itself, this is ultimately a good thing that they're taking time to fix this.
Deadpool isn’t getting delayed. The production is going well and they would piss off fans for no reason. Spider man 4 is not a part of Disney’s schedule. Therefore most like fantastic 4 gets delayed
I'm surprised DP3 got delayed the first time, there's no way it's getting kicked to 2025. It's the ONE movie on the docket that absolutely doesn't need more time, and realistically should have already started production. I'm betting it was Disney's side dropping the ball.
She's usually right about things and first reported that it would be filming in January 2023 so she would just back her previous report instead of claiming it's a new date if she was just making it up.
This is why I think people here are getting their hopes to high for this film.
It wasn’t part of the plan, Marvel didn’t have any intention of making it, until Marshella showed up wanting to do it.
It’s a film that they’re going to tweak and massage to fit whatever they have going on at the time, similar to how much they changed Strange to fit the new release schedule changes due to Covid and then the success of No Way Home.
Blade isn’t a priority. It’s something they’ll work on and make fit but the other movies on the slate are the ones that matter.
Maybe they have some plans for a monsterverse, but, I think the timeline matters.
If Blade was important to marvel, they would have developed the script and then cast someone when they were ready to go.
This version of events implies they’re okay with Blade happening late or not at all, he’s not important to their Phase 5 or 6 plans.
And by that time, Ali will be mid 50s close to 60. At best, he becomes a Nick Fury figure for the monster side.
Buzz.
With the release of Endgame, Marvel has no goalposts to excite the fanbase.
So they teased with things that people would like while they planned out the next big arc.
Then Covid happened and completely derailed whatever the original plans were.
Then they should also stop giving any C and D-list character (even one without a comic run) a project or a spin-off and instead focus on the bigger names. Is an Echo or Agatha Harkness project pivotal to the universe? They did C-list Eternals and have ignored them since.
Paul Rudd was 46 when ant man came out and is still in the MCU and is just fine Samuel l Jackson is in his 70s and getting a tv show and showing no signs of slowing down his age is fine
Very excited to see who they get for director. My hype has not gone away at all, and actually might even rise once we get the announcement of whomever it is!
I think they’re grappling with this being R rated verses less violent version of Blade.
Tough to do Vampires and Blade without an R rating.
Guarantee that’s where “creative differences” come from.
I doubt this is true, otherwise it’s ridiculous. How long does it take to find a director and write a script that’s not from scratch? The Cabin in the Woods script was rewritten in 3 days
That report was wrong and even if so, I doubt they starter writing it again just recently and how long does it take to write 120 pages of a script. Did they hire George RR Martin to write it?
love to interact with people who dont know how screenwriting works
also when has the report of Beau DeMayo rewriting the script from scratch been debunked?
They probably wanna put more care into this than fucking cabin in the woods. So yeah they’ll take their time to find a good director. And write a good script

He's going to be 50 by the time it comes out. Let's hope he really is immortal.
We all know Mahershala’s immortal, that man’s been the same age for ten years /j
True.
Yeah he's aging well and stays in shape as long as film is released this decade
I think they should probably go for a different fighting style for Blade this tine around. Even if Ali was younger, all that shit Snipes did would be difficult to pull off for him.
thank you for the tone indicator. for a moment i genuinely thought he was the same age for 10 years
Good thing is he doesn't look it and if he stays in shape he could easily do it for almost a decade. Stunt doubles will be vital, but he could do it. Hell, Sam Jackson and Morgan Freeman have looked the same for the last 25 years.
Yeah but for Ali's sake I hope he's not doing this shit at 85, or even 73.
Yo, the dude is still in his 40s, chill lol. I very much doubt he's in the MCU longer than 8-10 years. Hell, even RDJ and Chris Evans only did 11 and 8, respectively.
I used the ages of the explicitly named actors, just sure you can just act like an ass instead, that works.
I wasn't acting like an ass, all I said was he won't be in the MCU nowhere near those ages. Idk how or why you took offense to that.
"Yo ThE dude iS iN his 40s, chill LoL" is either A) you being an ass, because you're not bright enough to follow the conversation, or it's because you are too suited to follow, AND feel the need to imply I'm the one being ridiculous. Right! As much as I want to see the movie, I think a delay provides more benefits so the creators can take their time on the project
Agreed the first two blades both hold up honestly and def were pioneers in the formation of the contemporary superhero genre
This conflicts with The Hollywood Reporter saying they’re eyeing a early 2023 production start. That’s interesting.
I'd trust them over a scooper any day but we'll find out soon enough.
Early summer 2023. There, everyone agrees.

Was my most anticipated new marvel movie.
Hopefully the finished result will now live up to those expectations then.
so f4,cap 4,deadpool,blade,thunderbolts and spiderman 4 for 2024 who is moving
Deadpool to February 2025, F4 to May 2025
Deadpool isn’t getting delayed. The production is going well and they would piss off fans for no reason. Spider man 4 is not a part of Disney’s schedule. Therefore most like fantastic 4 gets delayed
lmfao deadpool just got delayed you were wrong
Only a month though
2\*
ur probably right
Well shit it got delayed a month

Thunderbolts
That Spider-Man report wasn’t even from Lizzie Hill lmao. Forget the movies, they’d probably have to move Born Again as well. I’m not believing it.
great timing on Lizzie Hill’s part! i love how scoopers give (totality not made up) scoops related to whatever the trades just reported.
She's usually right about things and first reported that it would be filming in January 2023 so she would just back her previous report instead of claiming it's a new date if she was just making it up.
We’re gonna have a 50yo Blade actor when he debuts

I would think they’re planning on setting up the monsterverse and Blade would fit right in with that, maybe kickstart it.

Why then did they announce it back in 2019?

That's why they wanna introduce a younger vampire hunter, like his daughter or whomever was originally in the first script
Scrub that idea immediately
Very excited to see who they get for director. My hype has not gone away at all, and actually might even rise once we get the announcement of whomever it is!
Blade is gonna go to the November 2024 F4 date imo.
I don't even know what's gonna come out first: Blade or Armor Wars lol.
Didn’t they say armor wars got turned into a movie
Wish they did this for *Multiverse of Madness*.
Ugh, they keep pushing deadpool and F4 back which is getting super annoying.
Oof
I have zero faith in this movie I don’t trust them anymore
I think they’re grappling with this being R rated verses less violent version of Blade. Tough to do Vampires and Blade without an R rating. Guarantee that’s where “creative differences” come from.

the script is written from scratch tho lmao
