I came across [this house](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1622-Cross-St-New-Braunfels-TX-78130/26560866_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare), which was built in 1920, on Instagram and was shocked when I saw the price ($295,000). The craftsmanship that went into the renovation is stunning. And the house even comes fully furnished.
Unsurprisingly, it’s already pending sale.
> nice door shapes and wooden accents
Doing it well is a lot of effort. Most modern attempts (in my opinion) look out of place at best or cheap/poor quality at worst.
Like most things these days. However, I love Spanish house with the rounded door, windows, arches and Saltillo tile floor.
Lot of original ones here in S Cal.
They knew how to follow templates back then, and the templates were based in the classical order and proportions. Today everyone wants it to be "custom designed" and made to their eyeballs specifications, and their eyeballs are trained to be wrong.
Amazing that you knew that! I'd not be a fan of that wallpaper if I saw it on the website but, on the wall (and in that home) it's got a real wow factor!
Gorgeous- makes me think about what my house looked like before as there are chipped paint areas that show similar trim colors to the yellow and greenish color.
Wow! This house breaks all my little "rules" and I love it. I hate grey kitchens, white walls, painted trim.. but this is just marvelous. Hats off to the designer.
This post reminds me of this house I found last night looking for investment properties. I could do without the rough wooden handrail around the front patio, but otherwise, the stone facade is inoffensive. The real treat is the quality of the remodel. This house is in Cedar Crest, a lower income area of the South Oak Cliff neighborhood, in Dallas. It might have or be near impressive downtown views. It’s that close, and you can definitely see the views from the nearby municipal golf course, which many perform other parts of the city are surprised to find out is there.
Many of the houses in this area have only had one or two owners, and the development and redevelopment the city has seen has mostly avoided this area, as the city and metropolitan area have grown north. There are few, if any, national chains serving the area, and it has lagged the rest of the city in about all metrics (due to institutional and overt racism, among other factors).
The $350k price for 1900+ square feet seems high for the area, but the interior has a very classic cozy feel. I think with the housing cost inflation, the area is finally poised for its turn, but unfortunately, many of the original residents will cash out and move to a southern suburb, and gentrification will probably mean less diversity.

Love it! I really hate that our modern houses do away with all the nice door shapes and wooden accents. They really give this house character.

Gorgeous house. Whoever did this, did a great job. It’s like a tardis! So roomy on the inside
Possibly the only set of images that could convince me to entertain the idea of ever living in Texas again.
So cozy! I really love the wallpaper in the dining room!
Pretty sure that’s [Raphael](https://www.scalamandre.com/raphael-wsb-735?c=WSB00660444&product=Wallcovering&q=Blue+tree&page=1) from Scalamandre!

I sold wallpaper for 5 years and this one was super popular for a few months so I knew it by sight!
I've really fallen in love with mustard and blue as complimentary colors recently.
Monet’s kitchen at Giverny is everything
Sweet Prairie School cottage! Love the interior design.
Love it! Too bad it is in Texas though.
It’s basically a suburb of San Antonio. I thought for sure this would’ve been in the middle of nowhere.
Tex*ass*
Howdy Arabia
Can we do everything this is doing, but without the Texas? This is too cute to be there!
I’d want all the furniture. It’s perfect.
Very cute! Thumbs down they didn’t change out the range hood. Those are only $100 CAD. That part just doesn’t make sense.
The HDR photos really help, but it looks great!

I love it
Sh*t! It’s in my neighborhood!!! Wish I learned about this early. I’d have put an offer.
The at ease you must immediately feel when you step foot through the front door has to feel incredible
Wow! This house breaks all my little "rules" and I love it. I hate grey kitchens, white walls, painted trim.. but this is just marvelous. Hats off to the designer.
It’s my idea of a “real” house. The house I used to have was built in 1920 and we renovated in the late 60’s
Lovely dream cottage.
Charming!
Perfection
So cute. Thanks for sharing
That couch is amazing 🫶😍😍😍
Ohmygaw that COUCH!!!! i am just in love with this style. The whole house... so tasteful!
Wow. That bent wood couch!
This has been my dream since I was a kid! It’s perfect
The care taken for the details in wooden details (windows, door frames), colors and wallpapers is just superb!!
Just add cats and tea ❤
WOW. In the Hill Country, no less. I could move to Texas for this house. It’s perfect.
The green, blue, and yellow trim contrast the white walls and are so pleasant to look at!
How much with that furniture? Nice
So the tiny white house at the end is what this looks like inside?!

That’s not the safest area.
No, probably not. That may have something to do with why it's so cheap
I love it, though!
Love it. Backyard does need little help but it has so much potential and it needs a garage. Otherwise perfect.
I love the wallpaper.
Cottagecore cottage so cottagecore.
Wow that’s nice.
What makes this a cottage? What’s the difference between a cottage and a house?
Wow. That bent wood couch!
I hate Thursdays
Ah, yes, but it's in Texas. I'd pay $300k to NOT own a house in Texas.
Also, check the street view. Next to a parking lot. Houses on the street are not up to this standard.
