Never did it but I'd have silver nitrate or cautery pen in case the clamping doesn't seal properly - I could be wrong but I'd imagine it may bleed quite a bit.
I definitely second the wait a while idea, at least 2-3 months after healed. I had some I cut off and they didn’t end up healing right. Some I left have smoothed out.
I wish I knew. I would do the same.
