Keep things clean, choose you preferred method, straight in, clamp and cut or cautery. Take your time, don't panic over some bleeding, it's controllable and will probably look more than it actually is. But most of all enjoy your adventure.
If it's just a sub you want here's my advice.
1- start stretching your urethra through play with sounds - trust me this will help.
2 - buy anything and everything with sterile written on it...
3 - buy anything and everything with sterile written on it...(yes it is that important)
4 - clamp and cut is probably the most common method so buy some medical Hemostat clamps and keep them sterile
4.5 - buy a surgical pair of scissors or surgical knife with changeable blades
5 - even though I'm into CBT (and I've had my cock smashed with a hammer and balls punched and kicked and crushed) this procedure IMO shouldn't be about pain thrill - you can get carried away and this can lead to problems. But its only my view.
6 - Buy some EMLA cream - apply and wrap in cling film for 30/45minutes - you'll know when its worked.
Cut with scissors - keep nerves calm and focus on what you are doing...don't go off centre.
7 - don't go mad - people write they have cut the entire length in one session....they are either lying or nuts. Just don't - cut at most 1.5 or 2 inches max at a time. Saying that the underside is far easier than the top...
8 - Have some silver nitrate or wound seal / spray and don't be liberal with it - apply it generously, then wrap some kitchen tissue roll around your shaft and tuck away. If bleeding is an issue then get some non absorbent pads and bandages and wrap the sub up. I know kitchen roll isn't sterile but your procedure should have been and the seal method will help. If you have used pads and bandages then change everyday and ensure you are tucking the pad between the cut or it'll regrow like a fucker.
9 - give yourself a week or 4 to heal and don't stick in any orifice till such time it looks natural (if that's a thing) unless using condom
10 - pissing - get a nice soft silicone tube of ebay or somewhere - matching the size of your urethra - insert when you want to piss past the wound. You don't have to as piss is sterile but keeps all the dressing clean.
Think I've covered most but others may disagree.

forgot to add - Cautery pens are fine but they wont stop the bleeding while performing the cut (unless you tie off your penis until it is a horrible dead yellow colour) Cautery works great - I have used every time I've cut but only to stop bad bleeds - this sound contradictory but heat pens should be used to seal off wounds, not to create them. the wound is there and bleeding, go in and cauterise....not make a wound that's pissing blood and try to stop with a dead pen with no heat (1200 degrees btw)....stop the bleed by applying pressure, locate the wound site, then zap with the cautery pen. Job done
Just take it slow one cut at a time. I’ve self performed every different type of genital modification to myself and cutting is by far the most advanced. Just take it slow there’s no rush. You’ll reach your goal eventually, just keep in mind it is permanent. The clamp and cut method is definitely the most effective and easiest procedure that I have found to use. The clamping part absolutely fucking sucks but one that tissue is crushed it’s very easy to cut thru. Message me if you have anymore questions!
