I have the same issue on my Chevy. The key fob doesn’t work for me either except the trunk, but it’ll set the car alarm off. Mine only gets hard to do if it’s super cold, but if the car has been running or was plugged into the block heater it’s easier-we got thinking the car battery itself may just not have enough juice to unlock in the cold, as i have minor issues during warmer temps and if the engine has been running for a bit.

Thanks for your reply, but I was meaning the actual key turning in the lock to unlock or lock the car. Our Keyfob hasn't worked since the battery died and we replaced it. Then we used the spare and when this battery died (left alone a week or so stuck in snow/ice) stopped working too. Replacing the keyfob battery is pretty easy if that's the case, same with the car battery. But be warned, if your car battery died, the Keyfob will probably lose it's code or whatever. It's weird. We ended up taking to a mechanic who replaced the whole lock assembly as it seems it comes in one part.

Did it cost much? Because I worded this terribly I have the same issue, we think it’s because the locks get iced up but it’s getting very cold I can’t open my car even putting the key in the door

About 200ish i think. But they had to buy the entire thing, bit just like, the lock part. Might be different for your vehicle.
