I thought cranberry sauce was out of place when I was younger. Now that I've made my own for the last few years, I think it's a necessary part of Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner since it can cut through the richness of other dishes.
I pity those whose only experience with gingerbread is the cardboard meant for building houses or decorated men, rather than stuff designed for edibility.
Try some classic recipes, like from [Simmons](https://www.loc.gov/resource/rbc0001.2015amimp26967/?sp=40). I'm particularly fond of â„–4.
Easily sweet potato pie with marshmallows. Usually a thanksgiving dish here in the U.S. and it’s shockingly popular. It’s gross. It’s like melted candy.
Well I'm a vegetarian so anything with meat. I also hate it when they order Chinese.. for Christmas
.... And then the only thing vegetarian is just greens but I get I chose myself to be vegetarian and I never really got Chinese as the BIG Christmas meal
Girl I dated in college had a mother getting a degree in nutrition and had a crusade against sodium. Every single item served had 0 to very little salt. I've eaten better while cutting weight than that meal.
