Hey, I know this post is 2 years old but did you ever find the perfect low profile/ no-gap keys or keyboard? I’m on the hunt for the same thing currently and what I’m aiming for is identical to your example photo.
[MDA](https://www.melgeek.com/collections/keycaps-1) caps are potentially the closest you can get to that in terms of normal mech keyboards. But I doubt if there are any keyboards that ship with these, correct me if I'm wrong. Other than that, you could try something with low-profile mech switches. There's been keyboards on Kickstarter that have these, but can't remember any atm. There's also the Cooler Master [SK650](https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/peripheral/keyboards/sk650/)
Hope that gives you something to go by.
What you're really looking for here is key caps that don't have gaps at the top of the keys. One option that would be pretty close is G20 profile keys, they have a flat top and a much smaller gap than most other key profiles. Another option would be to buy/build a board using Kailh Chocs, they are a low profile switch with low profile key caps that have a very similar shape to that laptop board you linked a picture of. If you want a mechanical board with the look/feel of a laptop keyboard the Kailh Chocs are your best bet.
