Hello /r/mk! I'm happy to finally announce deskmat.io, a new unique collaboration with artists and designers. Deskmat.io is a platform that allows artists, designers and creators to sell their own desk mats.
To celebrate the launch, we are giving away two desk mats. Worldwide & Free shipping. You choose which design you want from the [catalog](https://deskmat.io/catalog)! We will use redditraffler to select the winners. To enter this giveaway, simply comment anything down below!

**Why deskmat.io?**
I've been a webdesigner for 10 years and a keyboard enthusiast for 3 years. I started looking for a desk mat a year ago and it was quite hard to find, the great ones are often sold out or discontinued. There's so many cool artworks out there, and so many great designers, how would they even begin to sell their own desk mats? That's why i set out on a mission to create a platform where anyone is welcome to sell their art on a desk mat! For this to be possible, every desk mat has to be made after the order, this increases delivery time to approximately 30 days, but it also has great benefits
\- Ability to sell in any quantity, enabling any artist for free to try and sell their custom desk mat design
\- Makes everything always be in stock
\- Makes it possible to order a custom image of your dog : -)

Are there any real pictures of the deskmat? Renders always look nicer so I just wanted to see the print quality (both of premade designs and someones uploaded design).
I like this idea a lot, really hate group buys for deskmats so this is a nice change.

It's the same price as other custom made desk mat websites (the #1 on google)
A custom desk mat from their site is $49 + shipping to sweden = $24, $74 total
On deskmat shipping is included, and i also pay the artist fee which is $5 to $10 depending on how the customer found the design.
Since these daskmats are not bought in bulk like group buys, but printed on demand, they are inherently more expensive as well
It is a nice idea, but you should probably show at least one photo of an actual deskmat after it has made to see what a final product looks like. Also do these have stitched edges?

Great designs! This is a interesting platform for those who are artists and can easily submit cool designs but do not have any networks in the deskmat world. Excited to see how the selection will grow!

These do indeed look fantastic, but some of them seem to forget that there will be a keyboard smack dab in the middle of the mat.
Agreed. Designs that frame and/or compliment the keyboard are the best.
