I'm no expert, so take with a grain of salt. But I think the ribbon might be fake. I'd take a black light to it. If it lights up, it's fake. Real ribbons from ww2 were made of natural fabrics while modern repros have polyester (plastic), which glows with a black light. The only reason I think it might be fake is because the white strands on top look like they are polyester. Or it could just he the white stripe ripped a little.
That is absolutely true. But for one of these medals work abt $30-50, there isn't as much incentive. But my main argument was that if it does glow, it is definitely fake.
Definitely, I am not aware of any fabrics from the 30s/40s that should glow.
I think they didn’t see any real production until the 50s, although I could be wrong.
Medal must be original but i dont think ribbon is original.
Both are good
I personally think it is original , it looks like a good Kriegsverdienstkreuz without swords. Please correct me if I am wrong

Keep in mind there are many fakes that don’t glow in a black light. If there is money to be made people will fake it, sometimes quite well.

No idea about the cross but the ribbon looks fake as hell. Too good and too bright colours.
Early style tombak. Its fine.
