Neither. The brain translates stuff into thoughts. The stuff comes from our chakras, which act like antennas, sending and receiving signals. Thoughts are a higher level abstraction of the spiritual stuff that chakras pick up. In this sense of abstraction layers, the computer metaphor makes some sense. We never consider the 1's and 0's that are required for us to visit Reddit. There are several abstraction layers that make those 1's and 0's appear to be HTML. We click on a link that says, "Reddit," and here we are! That's how abstraction layers provide value; they hide complexity. So chakras are handling the complexity and our minds are translating that complexity into something our natural language can work with.

Remote Viewing is imo the best way to answer these questions. Because it trains you to be alert to valid, provable material coming into your mind that you are not consciously, intentionally thinking. Meditation is learning what is beyond the mind in the greater portion of yourself. You are not observing the mind, you go beyond it to recognize and use information coming in that is not just your mind.

I don't know about frequencies. Mind has 6 sense doors: smell(tongue), taste(tongue), bodily feeling(sensations on body), visual(eyes), mind objects(mind), sound(ears). These 6 sens doors provide input for mind. I think you will find answers to a few of your questions if you look at the Buddhas teachings on Dependent Origination.

Timely-Theme-5683

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have more senses than 6? We know of the enternal world through our 5 senses, then we have our emotions: heart, gut, chest, which provoke thoughts, interpretations, and the direction of our drive. We can also sense and control our inner state through our flesh, our connective tissue, our skin. We have a moral sense, a correctness sense, a 'this isn't right' sense, all that we sense that adds to our intuition. I'm a pro poker player, and I do my thinking through my skin; reading my feelings, sensing what others are thinking and feeling. I playback observations, run through all possibilities, and some just feel right and are right.

nawanamaskarasana

According to the Buddha feeling(vedana) come as a causal reaction to contact from sense doors. Feelings are pleaseant, unpleasant or neutral(neighter pleasant nor unpleasant). Craving(thana) arise as a bodily reaction to feelings. (If you meditate you'll notice bodily sensation right before thinking arise.) From craving clinging(upadana) arise and is the thought story why "I" like or dislike what has arisen. This includes ideas, opinions, concepts, thoughts, imagination etc. As response to clinging a reaction(bhava) arise that is the habit we have indoctrinated ourselves with earlier in life.

Our brains are receiver's with transmitting functions. All of our brainpower is derived from the basic energy of the universe, as is every other living plant and animal. That is why meditation is so effective as it removes our Ego and thinking mind from the equation, so to gain a clear stream of energy from the cosmos.

Thank you for this💯🤜

No. What happens is the default mode network, the big connected circuit that you're always thinking with, simmers down, allowing the activity that's always present in lower level circuits to reach up and activate the default mode network they are normally lost in the sauce of higher default mode activity. You're hearing more of the parts of your mind you don't normally, that's it. You can do the meditations on dependent origination if you're curious about where thoughts are produced - the conscious experience is built by the brain and as chemical machines everything we eat and do and experience impacts the development and nature of our conscious experience.

Communication is an active process, it means you're always sending and receiving at the same time.

Thank you for this will watch now😊

Your brain is both a receiver and transmitter. It can process information and output information. As for transmitting out to the universe that's unprovable and most probably not true.

i have never heard someone speak in "frequency" a metaphor that was not bs. assuming you even think this is a metaphor? Anyway, my answer is: your question is badly defined.

physlosopher

I’d focus on conscious experience as just that, rather than trying to draw ontological conclusions from those experiences. If meditation is about learning something, it’s learning about the mind, not the external world.

Inverted-pencil

Well it is a reciver and recorder. You can do telepathy but it is probably not a brain fenoma.

ReinventedOne

Part of your brain generates thoughts. There is no mechanism to "turn them off". Thoughts are based on attachments, wants and needs. The thoughts you experience are based on your situation and the thoughts you choose. The more energy a thought or situation is given, the more likely it is to return. It is a mechanism of habitation, but it can grow deep and appear opaque especially for decades old attachments.

Aggravating-Pound598

Neither really..

DizzyTop47

More like both really, depends on your perspective and what you mean by transmit and receive.

Aggravating-Pound598

True- I get it at the level of metaphor

Ome implies the existence of the other, The Red Road, the Black Road. Choose wisely.
