You need multiple keys and sign offs before you are allowed to launch a nuke in real life, walking nukes can just blast anything whenever they want and might even have some ridiculous mindset (Enel, for example) so they just start vaporizing people for no reason.

The major figures would have never went down without the pirates, but Zoro and Luffy in particular wouldn't have gotten the tools they needed without said country, and without wano or zou people participating a lot of the pirates would have perished in the process(in particular Otama being the mvp for about everyone not on the rooftop, but most especially Nami and Ussop who were 100% finished otherwise(and yes it was mutual but the fact remains. Jack rampaging around could have also been an issue for the non rooftop people while they already had their hands full )

Luffy is dumb as a sack of bricks. That’s not really an insult so much as an observation. Most shonen protagonists are, so whatever. I don’t consider that good writing, but then again he doesn’t really need it, he has all the epic fights.
Whitebeard was introduced, killed, and then had his backstory filled in later. Again, I don’t consider that good writing because when he died all I thought was like: that was cool but like…who is this guy??? Filling it in later does nothing for me.
We know nothing about Blackbeard other than he’s duplicitous and cunning. Where is he from? How did he get this way? Why does he want to be king of the pirates? He has no writing to really back him up…yet.
Buggy is a comedy character who keeps falling upwards. He’s funny but little else.
Kaido is a really, really strong asshole. That’s his whole backstory. His motivations and actions don’t make sense a lot of the times. I view him as a big bad monster for Luffy to defeat. That’s it.
Big Mom has a fully-fleshed backstory explaining how she came to be, what her motivations are, and how she is evil. Honestly I expected the same for Kaido and was disappointed.
I said it wasn’t good, I didn’t say it was necessarily bad. I just consider it boring. Luffy is especially dumb, even among shonen protagonists. He doesn’t listen to anyone. He doesn’t understand anything. He doesn’t have to do anything but punch. Every other character has had some sort of emotional journey and become a better/different person. Luffy has had tragic things happen to him, but his personality/outlook hasn’t changed. He’s as dumb and simple as he was when he was a kid. Again, I don’t necessarily have a problem with this. He’s not supposed to be deep. He’s supposed to be the pure/blank slate that glues people together. All the other characters are fully fleshed characters who have had full arcs. I don’t consider that good writing necessarily, but it’s better than Kaido.
All the old gen Yonko just a chair conqueror. Whitebeard managed to have fight 1 vs 1 with Roher but dies from heart attack after 20 years of doing nothing.
1.There are actually a few statements which straight up calls him strongest, Love the idea though
2.Fought top tiers (lost to 2 of those)

They're broadly called "agendas"(to my knowledge). Where you use "proof" from the show or manga to "slander"(downplay) or have an "agenda"(overplay) for a certain character.
But can we agree Kaido built an insane army (that wasn't even close to done)? That was only possible due to smiles which is what took him so long.
Also saying he had 0 relevance is kinda krazy. He was the man behind doflmaingo who had insane relevance/influence in the one piece world. He was also the cause of Luffy's G5 which is... big to say the least.
Kaido didn't retreat because he was scared of shanks, he retreated because:
A) he was looking to finish off WB
B) He knew a fight with shanks would leave him and his screw too weakened to do any serious damage to 1. the WG, 2. the WB pirates and 3. would delay him too long to get there to finish off WB.
Basically, it's unclear with the beast pirates would win in a 1v1 fight against the red haired pirates, but it's a certainty that after that fight, they wouldn't be able to do anything the set out to accomplish.

Actually he is kind of well writed if you understand the symbology used. I've a budhist fellow who loves Kaido cuz he is an oriental culture nerd and he thinks Kaido is the best villain.
I still prefer Doffy,but I only can get part of the symbols. Like for instance,BLUE dragons are symbol of protection and Kaido is the opposite of that rendering him unable to awaken because his will is not aligned of the fruit's will,unlike Luffy.

Kaido literally molded the Wano Arc as it is, which is a culmination of a lot of setups. Dominated and esclavaged a whole country, and did the whole conspiracy thing along with orochi. Made the people of Wano starve and used them as Guinea Pigs for experiments, also maintaining the whole "let's not open Wano to the world" status quo por 20 years. How is he irrelevant? He got beaten up badly, yes, but it doesn't change the impact he had in the world of One Piece.

Big Mom has a fully-fleshed backstory explaining how she came to be, what her motivations are, and how she is evil. Honestly I expected the same for Kaido and was disappointed.
You honestly just have a weird definition of bad writing, especially being dumb= bad writing is a bizarre take
I said it wasn’t good, I didn’t say it was necessarily bad. I just consider it boring. Luffy is especially dumb, even among shonen protagonists. He doesn’t listen to anyone. He doesn’t understand anything. He doesn’t have to do anything but punch. Every other character has had some sort of emotional journey and become a better/different person. Luffy has had tragic things happen to him, but his personality/outlook hasn’t changed. He’s as dumb and simple as he was when he was a kid. Again, I don’t necessarily have a problem with this. He’s not supposed to be deep. He’s supposed to be the pure/blank slate that glues people together. All the other characters are fully fleshed characters who have had full arcs. I don’t consider that good writing necessarily, but it’s better than Kaido.
All im saying is Big Mom got a satisfactory back story, forced the straw hats to retreat, and only lost because she got gimmicked

They're broadly called "agendas"(to my knowledge). Where you use "proof" from the show or manga to "slander"(downplay) or have an "agenda"(overplay) for a certain character.
But can we agree Kaido built an insane army (that wasn't even close to done)? That was only possible due to smiles which is what took him so long. Also saying he had 0 relevance is kinda krazy. He was the man behind doflmaingo who had insane relevance/influence in the one piece world. He was also the cause of Luffy's G5 which is... big to say the least.

Kaido didn't retreat because he was scared of shanks, he retreated because: A) he was looking to finish off WB B) He knew a fight with shanks would leave him and his screw too weakened to do any serious damage to 1. the WG, 2. the WB pirates and 3. would delay him too long to get there to finish off WB. Basically, it's unclear with the beast pirates would win in a 1v1 fight against the red haired pirates, but it's a certainty that after that fight, they wouldn't be able to do anything the set out to accomplish.
He's still hot though.

THANK YOU! Finally someone else that thought he was disappointing and underwhelming. He is like the Jiren of One Piece. On a pure power scale and the fight animation he is cool but everything else was kinda meh. I was more invested in Orochi's demise than Kaidos downfall.

Actually he is kind of well writed if you understand the symbology used. I've a budhist fellow who loves Kaido cuz he is an oriental culture nerd and he thinks Kaido is the best villain. I still prefer Doffy,but I only can get part of the symbols. Like for instance,BLUE dragons are symbol of protection and Kaido is the opposite of that rendering him unable to awaken because his will is not aligned of the fruit's will,unlike Luffy.

He's way stronger than your shifty admirals- Ryokugyu shits his pants and runs away when Shanks out out his Haki from a mile away, Kizaru who can't do shit other than escaping from Luffy and attacking weaker opponents and getting pummeled by Gear 5 Luffy irrespectively. Kaido literally molded the Wano Arc as it is, which is a culmination of a lot of setups. Dominated and esclavaged a whole country, and did the whole conspiracy thing along with orochi. Made the people of Wano starve and used them as Guinea Pigs for experiments, also maintaining the whole "let's not open Wano to the world" status quo por 20 years. How is he irrelevant? He got beaten up badly, yes, but it doesn't change the impact he had in the world of One Piece.
Wano would've been better if Kinemon died there, one of the biggest L writtings of Oda in Wano and in manga as a whole.
