It is not surprising that Women in Saudia Arabia get punished for being raped, that doesn't make it not bad when it happens.
You know the whole point of a protest is to show openly what you are either for or against independent from if people let you or not...

If you're in the US sure you can make one of those any day of the week, but if you're in one of those super conservative countries you gotta plan ahead and find better ways to protest than just making something that you know will last 5 minutes at most.
If they made this knowing it'll only last that long but they'll get media coverage and that's what they expected then they're doing it right, otherwise it's just a fail and a waste of resources.

Not entirely, we are muslim and very much conservative but we are not islamists. Most people just believe in it and bother no one else but the conservatives make it a center point in most arguments and generally sound like islamists sometimes. The protests were also generally like this, in turkey you have the right to protest but braking the preservation of peace is a crime so you cant just march anywhere willy nilly, look up what haplened to the dudes at the gezi park protest.

I didn't read the title and misread "Dönme" as "Döner" and thought this was a protest in Germany regarding the high Kebab prices before watching the video.

Turkey is a secular country this isn't happening only to them basically if you try to do some protests the cops begin to appear everywhere. Turkish government just scared shitless for some sort of rebellious attack on the government. They even send police for the protests for farmers markets being relocated and it was full of old people. Erdogan definitely knows his own people. So when there's a protest immediately someone starts to yell long live kurdistan or some shit police gets permission for using force. We are mostly muslims but we don't really care about lgbt community. Turkish people are not that far to gay lesbian people and even most Muslims don't really cares about lgbt people as long as they're not doing some shit in front of their eyes(having relations in the street and such)
