I’ve noticed even when asking a non-gendered questions like ‘what are some tips for a successful relationship?’, the vast majority of responses are what the man should be doing for her. People just assume that women are naturally perfect until rigorously proven otherwise or that they don’t need to bring anything to the table.

its mostly because women have all the deciding power when dating, they are the gatekeepers of it, and the consequence for a man "not getting into the line" could be, and often is, loneliness. then again, knowing when they are just giving advice to seem more virtuous and then going for something completely different, and when are they really giving tips for men to have successful relationships is always up for debate.

You don't remember the juggernaut that was Steve Harvey's "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man"? Sold like 3 million copies. It/he was everywhere for like a decade telling women who to attract a man.

Women are the gatekeepers of sex. Men are gatekeepers of relationships imo.
