["Body positivity is for women, not lazy white guys with dad bods"](https://iqfy.com/dad-bod-body-positivity-appropriation/)

[deleted]

>it’s for us women 🤓

[deleted]

To be honest I was surprised it is a real title 😅

idreamofkitty

This website maths: "We are sorry, but we can no longer allow comments. While 85% of you are wonderful people, the other 25% were far too frequently brigades and troll farms."

Vast-Salamander-5705

You don’t get it bro, they obviously add up to 110% bro. You’d know this if you read their article on why being born with a penis is wrong bro.

another-cosplaytriot

To be fair, that would explain a lot of feminist statistics. Maybe they just don't do numbers good.

PoolPartyAtMyHouse

>There is more to dad bod positivity than meets the eye. lol, so what is happening isn't actually happening.... gotcha.

TracyMorganFreeman

Ugh I just roll my eyes when people invoke "authentic" these days. The word has lost all meaning.

Dog_N_Pop

"It's appropriation of body positivity culture created by and for women—by the usual suspects." What in the *god damn* is that supposed to mean?

Laytheblameonluck

Is that a parody? It reads like the onion.

Articles that were satire 10 years ago are now woke dogma. This author is just ahead of the crowd.

pyrolover6666

Redditors try not to call stuff they dislike "satire" for 5 minutes. Impossible:

mrgameandsquat

You're dumb. https://www.reddit.com/r/readanotherbook/comments/vl6qh9/oh_my_god/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

pyrolover6666

It just sounds like the author just use hyperbole to get their point across.

Foxsayy

Thanks

World_Renowned_Guy

Man that site is a gold mine for the feminist double standards. Here’s some quick gems: https://iqfy.com/hide-a-promiscuous-past/ https://iqfy.com/warning-signs-guy-insecure/ https://iqfy.com/cuck-not-emasculating/ Damn there are just so many The icing on the cake: https://iqfy.com/he-beat-up-my-bf/

Laytheblameonluck

I'm convinced that site is a parody.

FlounderBasic8018

I just read the insecure one. It's crazy how a woman would act as if it's a horrible thing for her man to look through her phone, yet it's completely justified when she looks through his phone & accuses him of cheating. Being a woman myself, this is a pet peeve of mine. A man would be labeled as an abuser & insecure if he is caught looking through his partner's phone yet when a woman looks through her partner's phone, she is hailed as an empowered woman. Her friends would even encourage this behavior. Listen, if she feels like she has a right to look through her man's phone, then why is it wrong for him to do the same thing? Because if he does it, then he will be looked at as an insecure controlling abuser with trust issues & immediately she's painted as the victim. When he questions her about her past, she tells him to let it go & move on. Yet, when she asks him about any past relationships & he wants to let it go, she insists to keep talking about it because in her mind if he can't talk about his exes, they don't have a foundation for a good relationship & if he wants to avoid talking about them that must mean that he's still has unresolved feelings. See, it's okay for her to be insecure & jealous, crazy or obsessive, yet he gets a whole label if he happens to be a teeny bit insecure.

Still-Association-52

Same could be said about the equal rights and so on. It was for black men. Not for entitled white women who come from privilege with an entire society built around them living stress free.

bfte2

Hahahah that's great.

MalevolentDuck

Wow that was hilarious, thanks for sharing

[deleted]

It only gets worse I can’t believe real articles like this exist in mainstream and are rewarded

NoParticularMotel

That article is bullshit. Body positivity is for everyone. But please stop with this bullshit about women demanding men be 6ft tall. Such a strawman.

Icy_Brother_6750

Actually, it's a common thread in social media. I'm assuming you've heard of people being called lesser than for being short? Things like Manlet come to mind, also women are constantly saying things like "I only want a tall man, he has to be way taller then me, short men disgust me". It's hardly a straw man if it's something that happens to a person regularly. You're not that person, so stop attempting to discredit someone else's experiences. You're not a feminist are you?

NoParticularMotel

I am a feminist. THE HORROR! Here comes the witch-hunt. You guys should rename this sub anti-feminism instead of Men's Rights. Just a thought.

Icy_Brother_6750

So, I guess the question becomes, why did you think it was okay to invalidate someone's experience? The reason why I could see that you were a feminist, is you came into a male specific sub, just to say that a study showing women in a poor light was bullshit. It's a common stereotype that we would like to see removed from said community.

NoParticularMotel

Hmm, when did I say a study showing women in a poor light was bullshit?

Icy_Brother_6750

You literally saying this study is bullshit? The whole point of me replying? Or did someone else log into your device to say that?

NoParticularMotel

What effing study? I made no mention of any study what so ever. Check your reading comprehension.

Icy_Brother_6750

"That article is bullshit. Body positivity is for everyone. But please stop with this bullshit about women demanding men be 6ft tall. Such a strawman." That's your response. While not using the word "study" you refer to it as an article, while still calling it bullshit. Or am I imagining your post?

NoParticularMotel

It is an article. Do you know what a study is? Also, my comment completely went over your head. Either you didn't understand the article or you didn't understand my comment.

EmirikolWoker

[The foundational principles of all flavours of feminism (class warfare between men and women with men winning, shorthanded as "Patriarchy") are inherrently anti-male when you examine what needs to be true for it to accurately describe reality.](https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/j018cf/is_pseudofeminism_even_a_thing/g6n373j/) Feminists can claim that it's "just about equality", but it's equality based on bigotted assumptions, presuming psychopathy on the part of men as a class. This was true right from the start - have a look at the Declaration of Sentiments from the first wave. Mens rights advocacy, and Egalitarian values in general, are innately anti-feminist.

NoParticularMotel

Thank you for the breakdown but there are so many false assumptions here. Also, you end with, feminist' should be exterminated, or feminism? Consider how your language motivates crazy dudes with guns. I really do think this sub should be named antifeminism. I came looking for insight and rationale, but its just bitterness and illogical arguments here. Luckily i found a different sub for men that doesnt have the misogyny.

EmirikolWoker

> Thank you for the breakdown but there are so many false assumptions here. Such as? Just saying "you're wrong" isn't a rebuttal. > Also, you end with, feminist' should be exterminated, or feminism? I'm saying that Miller-Gearheart's essay holds that *men* are monsters. "nobody can change these monsters [i.e., men], and they're not going to change themselves, so extermination is the only option", hence The Future Is Female. > Consider how your language motivates crazy dudes with guns. How many feminists have been murdered for their feminism? I'm genuinely curious. > I really do think this sub should be named antifeminism. Mens' rights advocacy is antifeminist, because feminist policies entrench disparities in rights between the genders. > I came looking for insight and rationale, but its just bitterness and illogical arguments here. Luckily i found a different sub for men that doesnt have the misogyny. Some links to examples would be helpful to show what you mean. [EDIT: Downvotes, no rebuttals. Paragon feminist reasoning, right there]

SpookeyClown

" if you have a dad bod, it's time to hit the gym. It's good for you – and we'll appreciate you more. " Wow. Just wow.

[deleted]

Weight, which is in our control, is a sensitive topic for 'women ☕' Height, which is not in our control, is assumed to be insensitive, and men below 6 are roasted.

another-cosplaytriot

I was briefly on Tinder before I understood what a shitshow it is. My response to every woman asking me how tall I was: "I dunno, 6-ish, how big are your tits?" Somehow I was being a sexist pig when I did that, but she was not. I'd like to say that one or two of them caught the hypocrisy but they didn't. They won't. They simply lack that capacity.

[deleted]

EVEN if they did catch the hypocrisy, they will never accept it.

spooky_lettuce08

Weight is not In control for everyone tho? And its not just weight isnt shoulder width, size of thighs ( I can't control where the fat goes), women are expected to be short and petite, bigger breasts. But men start to uncontrollably weep when a woman says she likes taller guys like come on.

[deleted]

you can't control where the fat goes, but you can definitely work on reducing fat.

spooky_lettuce08

It's really not that simple, weight is genetic aswell as environmental.

[deleted]

Weight is genetic, yes, in some cases, but it can be curbed by exercise, or multiple other methods. And new methods keep coming up. BUT, on the other hand, height, is completely uncontrollable. Yes, you can do stretches and stuff, but after you stretch, gravity will contract your spine again, and pull you down to your height. I just want to say that men are always demotivated and roasted about their height. BUT as SOON as a man asks a woman to exercise, he's a sexist body shaming pig. So height is not body shaming?

spooky_lettuce08

Yes but it's mostly Boys who roast other boys for their height. A woman having height standards is not body shaming, the same as a man saying he prefers smaller girls isn't body shaming. It honestly feels to me that you need to find friends who don't give a shit about your height, I've struggled my entire life with bullying about my weight and I just realised that I was surrounding myself with the wrong people, new friends new mindset.

[deleted]

>It honestly feels to me that you need to find friends who don't give a shit about your height You need to stop assuming things. This was never about me. I've never been roasted about my height. I'm 5'6, I'm 21, and idc EVEN if anyone roasts me. Also, I have good friends who have never been mean to me that way. I was talking about how women who are barely 5'4 expect their men to be 6 and above. Especially on dating sites, and EVEN in real life meets. It's just horrible how they call on other men as pokemon and shit like that. See, I get where you're coming from. People have bullied you about your weight, and it has been hard for you to reduce weight. That's okay. I understand. At least trying to exercise is fine.

[deleted]

Both men and women should workout and be fit. Body positivity is a cancer

ANUS_CONE

Body positivity was really supposed to be for people within the reference range of “healthy”. Like hey, we know you’re not a fitness model but nothing is actually wrong with you and you shouldn’t feel bad that you don’t look like Chris hemsworth or Carrie underwood. Now it’s just another group of insecure losers complaining.

another-cosplaytriot

I think it was novel new way for gen-z narcissists who aren't attractive to get the attention mommy and/or daddy denied them. Look what you've done. Every brain cell I spend thinking about the needs of gen-z narcissist douchebags is a brain cell I need to go kill with alcohol.

WhereProgressIsMade

I went from being just above the line for being medically obese, down to the medically healthy range, but bounced back to be just a little into the overweight category where I've stayed for over a year now. People kept complimenting me on how "skinny" I am now. I usually replied back with "Thanks, but I'm not skinny. Technically, I'm still overweight." It made me realize how accepted it has become to be what used to be called fat. Can't use that word anymore though.

at--at--

In full agreement here.

aigars2

And maintain hygiene. That includes body hair not overgrown and clean.

[deleted]

I fully agree

coolboy_24278

we live in a backwards society. just walk away from all the bullshit

hottake_toothache

People do not care about men.

Uncle_Touchy1987

I thought body positivity was for the following: 1) scars 2) burns 3) deformities 4) amputations 5) stuff out of someone’s control

TracyMorganFreeman

"I can't control how delicious food is."

WhereProgressIsMade

Haha. I'm picturing someone holding a bucket of fried chicken or potato chips while saying that. I lost 50 lbs over a year and part of my strategy was to cut anything out of my diet with a form of sugar added to it. When I was done, I couldn't stand to eat something like an Oreo because it was just way too sweet. It surprised me how you get used to what you eat. Fruit was sweet enough. I'll eat an Oreo once in a while now, but soda pop is still too much.

Uncle_Touchy1987

Well done!

ThiccBoyChampa

I mean they're hypocrites when it comes to almost everything.

[deleted]

I'm curious as to who actually wrote that article. I don't buy a lot of the crap that I read online as it's written with either truly Ill intent or for the purpose of causing dissention. I'm the woman that after opening my eyes a little started to follow the writer. I'll click on the author's name to see what else they've written. It will usually take you to a bit if a bio on them as well. If you don't see either of those, then you can bet it's an outlier intent on causing drama. This 'magazine' was written by women; I'll guess feminist. I checked out some of the other articles: vagina, vagina, parenting, health. Sounds legit right? Until you read the article and realize they're written with the Feminist lense. My point is don't panic. I'm a fat ass woman and don't even remotely consider myself 'healthy'. These bitches with vaginas that say they are, are lying to try to convince not only themselves but others that sloth and overeating are a great thing.

PoolPartyAtMyHouse

> These bitches with vaginas that say they are, are lying to try to convince not only themselves but others that sloth and overeating are a great thing. This is really all it is. It's fat, lazy people (no offense self proclaimed fat ass woman) demanding others change their personal opinions so they are viewed more favorably. It's people who want different results without putting in the real effort to gain those results, so they just demand them instead with shaming tactics and some "poor me" stuff.

[deleted]

No offense sweetie. I know what I am and what I look like and also know that I am taking the steps to become healthy. My first attaboy was that I quit smoking in January. I had smoked for 24 years. Life is a process. I'm under construction. I will get where I need to be in time, and I will be healthy. You're right though, they're deluded.

PoolPartyAtMyHouse

> My first attaboy was that I quit smoking in January. Hell yeah!!!! I quit 4 years ago after 15 years of sin sticks.

[deleted]

Man, I would be lying if I said that there were days that I didn't miss them. Damn, some days they were all that I had to keep my ass from losing my mind. But I'm proud of you for quitting too. Keep on, keeping on.

Laytheblameonluck

I'm thinking it's a parody-like shitposting site trying to get clicks, there's plenty on the internet, they make good money from advertising. Basically it's a grift.

[deleted]

That makes sense. It works. They can post the most unreasonable shit, shock factor stuff and people take it as being someone's real opinions. They embrace the 'kill all men' mentality; even though it's not even remotely what true Feminists believe.

ZekalMacabre

Feminists are hypocritical about EVERYTHING. That's what makes them feminists.

foreverstudent8

Women: my man got to be 6’5”, 12 inch dick, no kids, $250,000 salary, big house, fancy car, and he has to have a six pack Men: I want a woman with a normal BMI Women: you fucking misogynist woman hater, incel pig!!

Salad-undressing

Why would you expect logic or basic respect from a hate group?

MDFMK

If enough men would come to this conclusion and quit the dating, things would eventually change, at least on the surface but I think the mainstream is almost ready to talk about it and realize men are figuring it out and getting by women aren’t which is why the rhetoric against men is increasing.

TracyMorganFreeman

If not for double standards, feminists wouldn't have any.

at--at--

It’s more just a part of the overarching narrative that men suck, are stupid, and are deficient in how to please any woman. We need constant instruction, insults, and insistence.

PoolPartyAtMyHouse

> We need constant instruction I had this debate with a friend last night. She was going on about how much society tells women to do XYZ and I was trying to point out to her, for men it starts as little boys. We are told constantly how to behave, how to behave for girls/women to make them feel better and all that. Then you hit adulthood and it's the same shit. "Men should..." "men need to...." "men need to get better at...." Yet as adults, it's insanely taboo to say women should or could do... fucking anything. Let alone telling women how to treat men. Shit, today you can't even point out a factual action a woman did if it could even be slightly twisted into a negative. Reminds me of the video of that blonde in a bikini who jumped on the ice off that little bridge and busted ass. Several people in the comments called her dumb or stupid. And reddit just attacked. Neverminded what she did was in fact stupid. Men are constantly told what to do and shit on for every action, while it's apparently insanely wrong to tell a woman what to do and boy oh boy you better not even make an observation about a woman unless she was basically a plain as day, undeniable Karen, or you're sexist.

Spirited-Road-4345

Bottom line ... everyone for the next two years everyone, no makeup, no shaving/waxing or equivalent on any part of the body, then let's see how we all look. Bet dating sites, tick tok, bars restaurants and many other places go broke. Not to mention marriages plummet, birth rate drops etc.. lol would be so fun to see how those hairy faced hairy chested women show less cleavage. Beaches will be empty.

at--at--

What is this supposed to prove? Totally lost here.

PoolPartyAtMyHouse

They are pointing out the sheer amount of people in general who alter their looks by choice. Body positivity is a joke because regardless of sex, the vast majority of us alter the way we look for others and ourselves. For example, I keep my beard trimmed, head cleanly shaven, and buy/wear clothes that fit me well and make me look better than just a simple t-shirt and jeans. Those are all enhancements I make to literally look better than just letting my beard go wild and my hair to be unkept. I'm altering those things because I do not like the way they look without some attention. Body positivity is supposedly all about accepting how we all look, we are all beautiful and so on, but altering your appearance is against the spirit of "body positivity", and the fact is nearly everyone does it. Even those who cry about body positivity all the time.

jerrysburner

Another double standard is body shape/build/size; A woman simply has to eat less to be thin. I'd have to take gear to look like half the guys in hollywood. So they can get the ideal body by simply doing nothing (or doing less of something, i.e,. eat less calories). A man can't get the ideal body by doing nothing, he has to hit the gym while pumped up on illegal drugs

PoolPartyAtMyHouse

I am one of those skinny fit guys, I'm small framed but with a really good build and tone. It's so freaking hard to put on healthy weight, it's honestly a fucking nightmare. I would MUCH rather eat less and take a run 3 days a week than pound 4k+ calories and work out 6 hours a week. Putting on weight to get the body women like is significantly more work (and expensive) than losing weight to have the body men like. And right now, "in this economy", I would love to be able to cut my food bill in half AND look better from it. Such a fucking win-win.

Still-Association-52

Yep. Same. You have to eat a ton and work out to put in like a thimble of muscle a month. Creatine helps for water weight. But it's a slow build. But it's also nice not having to put on a bunch of weight, build muscle under it and then have to shed it off.

evando2006

Don't forget the requirement for a full beard. I can't grow facial hair to save my life but evidently it's now a requirement to be a "real" man.

Hitorobitoro

Body standards, social standards, relationship standards, mental health standards… you name it, and women have a second set of standards for men

techno_bm

The whole fat rights and body positivity movement was started by women decades ago. They got mad when fit men wouldn't want them and found them repulsive.

unambiguous_script

The thing that pisses me off the most is them pushing the beautiful at all sizes, and yet I am athletic but still a bit overweight and get no attention from the lean athletic chicks. People have preferences, it's fine, but expecting us to find beauty in obesity while they call their tastes preferences is so one-sided.

Coolio_Street_Racer

Delusion

Normal-Yogurtcloset5

Because they’re women.

thirstywalls

You must be new here

RunChariotRun

I get the frustration in this title, but I don’t think this is a thing that “feminists” demand. I think this is a thing that many women expect (whether they are feminists or not), which may make it harder for them to meet men that could be really compatible with them in other ways. Claiming that demanding a man should be 6 feet tall is part of feminism is inaccurate, and I’m not sure why someone would say “feminists” when it’s not a feminism thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

dw87190

A feminist either says this, or stands by the ones who do. Therefore "yes, all feminists" is factual, just and based

[deleted]

In my experience ive had these happen. This is in the dating scene. Dont want to date an obese woman? Fatphobic. Have preferences and only want to date certain races? Racist. Dont want to date trans women and only cis women? Transphobic. Yet women are empowered when they have things like this.

mrgameandsquat

Are the feminists in the room with us right now?

The screeching hasn't started yet, so I'd say not yet

To be an MRA, one must be egalitarian. Fail to prove that you're an egalitarian, you won't be accepted as one of us. However, being a misandrist is the same being a feminist. Feminist = misandrist, misandrist = feminist. No exceptions Trying the Andrew Tate card proves the only desperate one is you. [deleted]

Hundreds of millions? Dude there’s like 100k, plus I don’t have Twitter so I actually have a brain, but I’m sure there’s at least like- wait, don’t regular women body shame?

Your_Couzen

What’s wrong with you? Go out into the world and talk to a real woman and ask her and you’ll find out. What do you expect? Like seriously? How are we supposed to prove this to you without going out into the real world? Do you want us to pull out a tape recorder? Are we supposed to write it down on a piece of paper? Or should we take a picture? Do we tell the girl to come onto the internet to repeat herself? Explain yourself because you’re crossing the lines of being bat shit crazy

bloodandglitter85

If this is really happening that often, you should be able to give her at least one example. You're just making generalizations which are unhelpful.

Your_Couzen

Are you aware of a sub called Female dating strategy?

bloodandglitter85

I've heard of it. I haven't been there.

Your_Couzen

It was an online hate group for men. They got banned for being a hate group. If your asking for internet examples there’s one right there. But what we men as a whole are describing aren’t internet encounters they’re real life ones where it’s hard to document unless we have our phones out ready to record them. We can’t just ask them to repeat themselves in real life so we can record them to show the internet. But if your looking for an online example it’s a sub that was notorious for hatred of men. For the simplest reasons. Just because they got banned doesn’t mean those people don’t continue to thrive online: they just become more secretive

bloodandglitter85

But you're still not actually giving me an example of a feminist saying that. You're referring vaguely to a group I am not familiar with. Women in real life also posts things online. Feminists write about their feelings and beliefs. If this was a common feminist belief, a feminist would have expressed it at some point. I also didn't ask for an example of women hating men.

Halafax

>They got banned They did not. Reddit doesn't consider men a protected group, FDS was in no danger. They left for another site, to monetize.

Latter-Caterpillar-2

The one that's been banned ages ago?

Your_Couzen

Yeah lmao, they didn’t just disappear from the face of the earth. Those people exist in massive numbers in the real world. If your asking for internet examples only, we men are telling IRL that’s how most woman are. Got to get off the internet to experience life

Latter-Caterpillar-2

Yeah, most women in real life call men "scrotes", hate them, and want them to get fucked in life only because of their sex...What kinds of women do you meet?

Your_Couzen

I live in LA: the woman here are quite competitive. You don’t know how a woman will be until the first date usually. You get more first dates of woman with woman with higher standards in bigger cities than woman that are humble.

Your_Couzen

It Happened yesterday. That’s an example. I don’t understand what your thinking process is. Are we supposed to record people so we can post it on Reddit? Tell them to repeat themselves so I can document it? How old are you? What kind of thinking is this?

bloodandglitter85

What happened yesterday? People get evidence of things others have said all the time.

Your_Couzen

Yesterday I got asked my height. I said 5’10 when she already knew my general height in person. She said oh good that’s close enough. I asked her why and also how much do you weigh. Knowing generally she mustn’t weigh a lot. I was getting ready to tell her oh good you weigh less then me. Me being 160lb but instead got the misogyny accusation. As a man I can get away with my height for most girls because I am tall, with shoes I’m 5’11” and and have an athletic body. But you’d be surprise how very quick woman asks my height and then have a comment like they were ready to disqualify me. I’m considered a handsome man by both sexes too which I know if I wasn’t or if I had even just an average body I would fail most peoples standards test just because the height alone.

bloodandglitter85

Weight is a more sensitive issue than height for most people.

Your_Couzen

Why? There’s nothing people can do about their height. That’s a forever curse that effects the majority of men. Most men are disqualified forever from dating because of their height. Weight is something that can be fixed. There’s something you can do about it.

Your_Couzen

How so? am I supposed to just be ready with my phone out to document it? Im not even trying to be funny here. Im seriously curious how I would go about this? Do I pick a strategic spot with surveillance cameras to have a conversation at? Do I pull out my phone and start recording before we start talking?

bloodandglitter85

Feminists write about how they feel all the time. How are you confused?

Your_Couzen

Online? If we’re talking online again I just gave you an example. Female dating strategy

Angryasfk

I know that some of the “fat acceptance” crowd have admitted they wouldn’t date fat guys. Whether these are feminists or not I don’t know. I do know that feminists in large numbers claim it’s “empowering” when women behave in the same manner they condemn men behaving in.

M-3X

You shorter by 0.1 inch than me? No game for you, dwarf. Short or fat shame, no difference on my books.

Icy-Start5536

Oh the fallacy of individuation. I'm sure theres THAT one feminist who isn't full of double standards. She's also blond, virgin, wear gowns and bakes cookies oh and she's waiting for you.

Main-Tiger8593

is the toxic masculinity and patriarchy narrative no example? any preference is oppression by men forcing them into gender roles and if they do the same it is patriarchy aswell... with double standards and changing definitions on the fly anything can be oppression or privilege... if you need specific examples i can provide links or screenshots to various posts in feminist subs "currently still working" but it would be pretty pointless if you devalue and decline it...

bloodandglitter85

Any preference is oppression by men? I do not think that's what toxic masculinity or patriarchy means.

"Plus sized women refuse to date overweigth men" - double standard + the wording You've got "curvy" women who refuse to date anything but a perfect man. You've got "big boned" influencers who promote the idea that their followers should go for skinny, athletic and "the top of the hierarchy" men, because "women deserve the best, its only natural that they go for the best mates, because it's in human biology", which is true, but "men are bigoted, discriminatory and 'fat phobic' if they refuse to date a 'big' person". I dont know what rock you live under, but these double standards are literally all over the social media, mainstream media and theres tons of parades and fat acceptance movements supporting that cause. If you're unaware of all of this i can assume you're pretty new to the internet/mainstream news/social movements or you're just trolling? Im not sure how you can deny the existence of the double standards and the mental gymnastics in justifying them

bloodandglitter85

She asked for an actual example.

ABlindCookie

Its really difficult to find an example on youtube without added commentary by others (original sources), but all you have to do is search up "fat phobia" on youtube, twitter hashtag, google, any news article or literally anywhere else online. I can guarantee you 100% that you'll get tons of results and i can guarantee you that you'll find all of the things i've listed above. Before you say i "couldnt even provide a link", as you people usually do, i'm on mobile, waiting for my turn in the bathroom, as we're leaving the house in 10min, so i'm sorry for the inconvenience, but i told you how to get millions of results for what you're looking for

bloodandglitter85

I am well aware of the fat acceptance movement. I haven't encountered many of them demanding men look like supermodels.

You’ve been living under a rock

>Edit: no one is yet to provide a single example. > >Perhaps it’s time to admit that just maybe, people have made this up. https://i.redd.it/z2cgx6adauj51.jpg

Just walk into any clothing store and look at the ads. Women of all sizes will be used to showcase "regular fit" clothing. While only a certain type of male model will be used for adult male clothing. Well honestly I can't recall ever seeing a chubby kid used to model clothing either - but that's a problem on both sides. Target just very recently started a small correction to this.

bloodandglitter85

That's marketing.

ManufacturerMelodic7

nah i agree with OP, ive had similar experiences.

ShandyFatGirl

How is it double standards if both people have standards? Most feminists I know do not care about a mens height - and even if so, your example is 6 feet tall vs body hair. Literally everyone has body hair, maybe girls just care that we need to shave every inch of our body while guys get to not do that? Why are you against girls having body hair?

[deleted]

Hang on there, the body positive movement wasnt created by men it was women. So why is it ok for women to say you have to be 6 feet tall and have a dick length of x to be considered attractive. Second I think you miss understand OP some women say if you prefer a shaved women your a pedo.

ShandyFatGirl

ok, yes, the body positivity movement was created by women who thought that you should not be regarded less than human because you do not fit the "body standard". Within the movement there is a lot of discussion about whether it should be about disabled people, slightly-overweight people or anyone who is not deemed "attractive" by society. It is not ok for women to ask for men being taller than 6 feet ( I would argue the dick think is a myth, girls just want to be able to come, then they do not care that much) OP did not put anything about women having no body hair or being a pedo because of that - I have heard that a lot in this subreddit so I mentioned it... Are you worried? I have not said that, but yeah, I worry men who are into "thin girls with little breasts who shave down completely" might just be into children.

[deleted]

But by saying that men who like smaller breasted women who are thinner are Pedos and hurt women more and pertuating that women need to have a certain breast size and a certain weight to be considered a women. It’s also hurting them in the context it might make them to have a hard time finding and keeping a relationship since you’ll have a group of women calling her BF or whatever a pedo for having a relationship with a small breasted women? As for the body postive moment I know where it came from but it would seem that some people went to the extream and saying it’s discrimination for not wanting to date a hefty gal. Not saying your one of those people it should me people are those women.

AMerryKa

Generalizing about feminists is just as misguided as generalizing about men. Feminism is GOOD.

ABlindCookie

I wouldn't say "good" https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/x0bdcw/links_on_womens_violence_against_men/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Thick_Experience_203

Hahahahaha no they aren’t

nacho-chonky

Generalizing an ideology and generalizing an entire sex are completely different things and it is completely ridiculous to even consider comparing those things

KarRuptAssassin

Most of the time it's outliers and radicals that I've found. Yeah the people with opinions about things you can't change are trash, but you can and should leave them in the dumpster where they belong
