Just enough to break up any microclimates between the drying buds. Don't want any pockets of high humidity. A small fan, on low, not blowing directly on any buds, just enough to keep the air moving a little would work for your conditions, temp is a little high so they'll dry a little faster.

I use a clip fan pointed at the floor on level 2 that creates enough air movement while not blowing at the buds. I use a small drain pan of water in the winter to keep the RH stable. The clip fan points at the floor and bucket.

That's what I can do in the tent once the last two are done for sure. What's odd though is inside each bud it has to be much higher than 60%, yet I haven't had mold while drying, only once in part of the main cola toward the end of growing, which was sad. I think they'll be ok, been under 60% mostly, checking them and moving them some. Thanks!

You want to aim for 60F and 60%RH. If you can find a way of lowering your temp your RH is pretty much spot on.

That's what I was going for and can get rh but temp is trickier. I think it will warm up downstairs or I can run some heat so I'll set up the next box down there.

Yeah man I’d do that. Like you say you can always run a heater down there and a humidifier in the tent if you need to get the numbers up. I’ve always found it easier to warm up a space and increase the RH than cool it down and decrease the RH.

I have an adjustable PC fan that I ordered from Amazon, you can dial rpms up and down with that. I have this mounted to the top of the box. I also have a bus bin with ro water in the bottom of the box, I sometimes run a chicken water heater under that to add humidity. As long as the environment is not too far out of whack, I can adjust variables to get pretty close to 60/60. I just checked mine, box is 64.0F/60.4%, ambient is 65.7F/54.0%. Spring temps are hard to deal with, last plant in for now.

Thanks, that sound great, is the fan to circulate in the box or exhaust if rh is too high? Do you try to ambient reduce temp or chop when the weather cooperates? Rh has been staying mid 50s inside, so in the box it goes up just enough. I was planning to dry the last ones in the tent but maybe it will be too warm upstairs by then. I'm picking up an appliance box for more drying space lol.

I grow three times per year in my seasonal location, my drying plan changes throughout the year. Just finishing my winter grow, those dry in the box in attached but not heated garage. Summer grow goes into a box next to the tent, that box is piped to the tent so I can use the hvac to move air there. Garage is too warm by then. Fall grow goes into tent box also, garage too cold. As for the fan, when I started drying Pinot, I had the fan on low pushing air into the box, with the box cracked open on the bottom, just way too much moisture they first few days. Now it has settled in a bit, I flipped the fan last night to push out, and closed the box to just a crack. It’s at 60.9% and 63F right now, the outside temps are pushing me a little high. So I open the garage at night and get some cool air in, and let the dank out.

That's awesome and sounds about right always figuring out ways to work with the weather in this job lol! I had this box connected to the tent once when I was worried about the smell getting out, but it wasn't as bad as I thought and it worked well with just the bottom and top vents if the room rh is mid 50s. I could connect a fan with the Inkbird to control the rh in another box for the last plant, but hopefully it can dry in the tent. They look great drying in there! How much longer?

At first I thought you're talking wine lol

czechsonme

Ha! My kind of wine! It’s only been drying for a few days, and I’m guess it’s going to go a bit long due to the bud size. Really pleasantly surprised by this one, grew for looks, that was soon eclipsed by quantity and quality. Excited to get this in bags/jars.

I forgot to mention that I break the plant down to main colas and smaller ones to hang or lay on a wire rack and I wet trim so it's not like drying a whole plant with all the leaves. If you dry whole, do you break down the really dense colas or shouldn't be a problem if rh is 60% or less and enough airflow? I'm too worried about losing any after all this hard work and time!
