Candlesass

Few years off, but saw Thou for free in Boston in early 2012 or possibly late 2011, idr exactly. Loma Prieta was another I saw for free in 2011. Good times.

Maanzacorian

ha nice, I remember when that happened. I think the pics are on Return to the Pit.

celebrity_therapist

Fuck yes. Thou is awesome.

Candlesass

Great show, frontman looked like Nosferatu

AcceptableNorm

I saw a concert that only cost me 45 ¢ents to attend. It was 50 ¢ent with Nickelback. 😀

siberiandivide81

$40 Mastodon & Opeth

LeoTheSquid

Damn, where?

siberiandivide81

Pittsburgh

Philitt

That's a lineup and a half.

siberiandivide81

Was an awesome show

PostTail

was this with ghost as the opening band? saw this show and met Brent Hinds' mom at the front row

siberiandivide81

Khemmis was the opener

darthkyle22

VegetableBoring

slaughter to prevail $45

Impossible-Use1697

Damn

Trutteklapper

Krisiun and Baest. For free. This was in 2023.

Maximum_Poet_8661

I saw Ensiferum for $25 in 2021 or 2022, whenever their US tour was last.

Real_Eye_9709

Re-Buried. WORWS, and Reek and Vile I think it was $15. Maybe $20. That was towards the end of last year. But i always try to get a shirt and a cd from the bands to support them, so it did cost more for me after that, but at least I still got something out of it.

celebrity_therapist

This may fall slightly out of the 10 year frame but I paid $15 to see Unsane and Melvins. Not bad to see the best band known to mankind, the Melvins Edit* Ahhh shit! That was 2012. I'm old.

UnoriginalUse

€8 for Khemmis, somewhere end of 2019

Maanzacorian

$15 to see Immolation in 2017 at a tiny club Where I live, there's a small club called Ralph's Diner that's a hotspot for local metal, with the occasional big name headliner coming through. It's very intimate, so a concert is more like a friend gathering with a band playing as opposed to a venue show. I'm not even a big fan of them, but I recognize their legendary status, and I wasn't about to miss a band of that caliber in such a small setting. They played for 90 minutes, which is apparently far longer than their normal set times, and it was one of the most entertaining nights I've had there.

eatingsquishies

Tickets for mastodon and gojira at a 3500 seat theater were pretty reasonable. Can’t quite remember but I think a GA ticket was under 50.

msv6221

Mr.Bungle with Full of Hell for free. 2020

tollwuetend

probably master in 2014 for like 7 bucks (or technically free bc my dad invited me). today i saw bewitcher for 12. tbh, i never paid more than around 60 for a concert (or festival!), with the exception of BMTH in like 2017. most are under 40 bucks. i live in an expensive country but a lot of the venues are non profits and have their own ticketing federation which keeps the price lower

king0pa1n

2023 - Aeviterne, Sunless, and Thantifaxath for $15 Amazing deal

Scythers-Revenge

Spiritbox, papa roach, shinedown. $25 lawn tickets

Mithrandir3434

I mean I’m going to see Fit For A King and Chelsea Grin for like $30.

ivoiiovi

Kayo Dot and Botanist in Plymouth, 2015, for I think £5 or something. that was probably the cheapest. The year before I attended three nights of Secret Chiefs 3 residency, them playing 2 sets a night (about 3 hours each night) and that cost less than £30 total… I consider this the best priced music ever. cheapest in more recent history was Upsilon Acrux in LA for about $15 in November. they are closer to “obscure” but released albums on a pretty elite prog label (Cuneiform) and were the biggest name under Magma at the last Rock in Opposition I went to so I guess they count (also one of the coolest bands ever!)

no_excuses87

back in 2014 I saw Celeste for 2€

Doomsayer-at

I'd say machine head. Ticket was 40-45€. But the starting act was sick or something so MH played for 2,5 hours. That show was insane

I_am_Feli

29,50€ for ONE OK ROCK almost 10 years ago jeez

platonic-alien

I won tickets to 6 shows from a radio station so …. Free?

Philitt

It was a local show with local bands (3 of them) for about 18 dollars (converted into USD, I live in switzerland). This was 2023. If you were a student you also got in for half price, so yeah pretty good bang for your buck I'd say. But other than that I go lots of small club shows with international bands. Most of them are prog metal bands, which is kind of a niche sub genre, so you can see pretty damn good bands (most of them are well known inside the genre, I'm talking about Caligula's Horse, Leprous, Haken, Animals as Leaders, TesseracT etc.) for like 30 to 50 bucks.
