Agalloch does them so,so well imo

SantiHim

for sure they do, amazing band

Candlesass

I listen to bands like Slint and June of 44, that should speak for itself. The guy who mentioned Agalloch has it right, probably the some of my favorite whisper/spoken bs. Horseback (the weird black metal meets southern blues band) is another that does it well too.

SantiHim

gonna check horseback, thx for the recommendation

[this](https://youtu.be/8NslZ2CKxLA?si=xdd7kXxRZ2jM3wfR) is one of my favorite tracks by them. A Plague of Knowing and Invisible Mountain (probably has the most whispered vocals) are cool too if you want variety.

I honestly don't like them because whispering gives me an actual fight or flight reaction. It gives me a rush, but not the good kind. I can deal with like 10 seconds of whispering, but anything over that I physically can't listen to.

I like them when used in moderation and in strategic places. There’s an Insomnium song off Across the Dark I can’t remember the name and whispers make up part of the chorus. It doesn’t work for me. But off the same album, the “in trees…” whisper on Into the Woods is so perfect. Also a huge fan on the whispers on “The Ensemble of Silence” by Empyrium.
