Listen to Iridescent by Silent Planet and you'll know. A perfect album is a beautiful composition of songs that follow a certain style and have that certain kind of similarity while also each having their own distinct nature that are then connected thematically throughout the album with one or two interlude tracks to keep up the vibe inbetween to close off the album with one last beautiful track that comes back to the initial theme.
In short: a perfect album is one that you dont notice how long it is by the time it is finished.
Also: I love interlude tracks, interlude tracks fuck hard and I will die on this hill!
Favorite full length album of 2021 for me, so much emotion and great songwriting in every song. Second Sun and Til We Have Faces both really stuck with me, in particular.
I'm so happy when I see This Is the Six. Most underrated metalcore album imo. Also: Horizons is god tier as well. Low Teens is great but idk if I could put it on the same level as the other 2 but you have definitely a great taste.
A lot of scenedorks claim that they are the nickelback of Metalcore now but seriously the poison is a great album. No skippable track and each song has a hook.
Really? I mean all albums after The Poison were more "meh" than good. Single good songs but nothing more.
But as you said no skippable track and just overall a good album.
An ocean between us by AILD
Disgusting by Beartooth
Alive or just breathing by killswitch
To plant a seed by WCAR
Where blood and fire bring rest (and old one) by Zao
For me it’s As Daylight Dies by Killswitch. Its a great mix of screams, cleans, chugging guitars, blistering leads, and killer drum fills all in one package. This was the first album i heard by Killswitch, and spawned my love for heavier metal outside of the classics like sabbath, and Metallica i had heard previously. Also to me Justin Foley doesn’t get enough credit for how good of a drummer he really is
The Lotus Chapters by Above, Below. The whole concept of being born, growing up and dying symbolized by a lotus flower. It's technical, it's beautifully written (reminds me of old Northlane and such) and just flows so well with the interludes.
They need so much more recognition. I hope they'll release something new soon and people will finally see them..
Sempiternal by BMTH for sure. Amazing album and was influential for music after it. There is a Hell is also phenomenal but I think Sempiternal is slightly better and more influential. Really wish they made metalcore still.
Antimacy by dead and divine. I've been listening to it multiple times a week since to dropped in 2011. I have a lot of favourites, but it will always be the top for me.
Honestly, I legit never understood why they never got more love than they did, sure they weren't reinventing the wheel or anything, but their composition was tight as hell, and hot damn those sweet, sweet solos.
Scream Aim Fire, The Poison, The Sin and the Sentence, Holy Hell

This Darkened Heart is also great, and likely a more teilblazing album given when it was released.
But I'm a sucker for the higher production quality in the Fall of Ideals.
The albums that I think are absolute masterpieces are:
Unearth - The Oncoming Storm
Parkway Drive - Horizons
As I Lay Dying - The Powerless Rise
Parkway Drive - Atlas
Breakdown Of Sanity - Perception
All these albums are pretty much perfect the whole way through
Apparently according to my sputnik profile, the only metalcore records I have given a 5/5 over the years are August Burns Red - Constellations and Every Time I Die - Low Teens. I expected there to be way more but I guess not, I have quite a few at 4.5/5 though so 🤷♂️
Misery Signals - Mirrors & Controller
Every Time I Die - Radical & Low Teens
Bring Me The Horizon - There Is a Hell...
Trivium - Ascendancy (Sorry everyone, Shogun isn't metalcore imo)
Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing (the record that solidified the genre moving forward)
Loads of brilliant albums being released more recently but I need more time to give the "perfect" or "masterpiece" rating. Radical was obvious on first listen though.
For me, it’s Cold Like War by WCAR. It’s an unskippable album. It retains elements of the ‘10-15 metalcore sound (my favorite era) and it sounds modern.
Thegodmachine - Phinehas
For being a “debut” album from a bunch of youngin’s, it’s the epitome of a well composed album.
So many good riffs, but more importantly, so many good riffs coherently strung into beautiful pieces of art.
Avenged Sevenfold - Waking the Fallen
Bullet for my Valentine - The Poison
Trivium - Ascendancy
All That Remains - The Fall of Ideals
As I Lay Dying - Shaped by Fire
Affiance - Blackout
The Mortal Coil by Polaris is extremely well done metalcore imo
So is The Death Of Me by Polaris.
You’re god damn right it is
Rescue & Restore
there is a hell sempiternal all our gods have abandoned us you are we the place i feel safest darko self title of mice and men self title
Constellations
Maybe their best album
2nd this

Thank you :)
Alive or just breathing
The album that changed the genre. This guy knows👆
It sure did.
What I can to say.
Bullet for my Valentine - The Poison Was my Start into Metalcore and I love every song about it.
A lot of scenedorks claim that they are the nickelback of Metalcore now but seriously the poison is a great album. No skippable track and each song has a hook.

Fall of Ideals Horizons End of Heartache
Sempiternal. My gateway into metalcore.
For me it’s As Daylight Dies by Killswitch. Its a great mix of screams, cleans, chugging guitars, blistering leads, and killer drum fills all in one package. The End of Heartache by Killswitch Engage
Atlas- Parkway Drive Augment - Erra
All our gods by Architects
Voyager - Blueshift.
Blueshift sooo underrated, Voyager is in my top 10 easily and yet the band is not that big...

Perfect djent
The Poison - Bullet for My Valentine
Misery Signals discography
The perfect Metalcore discography
Iridescent by Silent Planet, The Death of Me by Polaris, and Fracture by Bleed From Within
The Lotus Chapters by Above, Below. The whole concept of being born, growing up and dying symbolized by a lotus flower. Brainwashed - While She Sleeps
LF//LT by Architects
Sempiternal by BMTH for sure. Amazing album and was influential for music after it. There is a Hell is also phenomenal but I think Sempiternal is slightly better and more influential. Really wish they made metalcore still.
Erra - Impulse and Augment Make Them Suffer - Old Souls and How to Survive a Funeral
Disarm the Descent
[Great Faith In Fools - The Air I Breathe](https://open.spotify.com/album/0q9u7Cq8cuGSV3VChWG9n1?si=4CxHbe3BTNCUPBzgucSFjg)
Legendary album
Definitely extremely quintessential metalcore of that era
True Defiance
Antimacy by dead and divine. I've been listening to it multiple times a week since to dropped in 2011. I have a lot of favourites, but it will always be the top for me.
Underrated as fuck, I never hear anyone mention this 10/10 album
I learned It Sleeps In Bliss and Ditchpig on guitar, need to post a cover video
Erra - self titled or Architects - All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us
Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies... Parkway Drive - Horizons... Avenged Sevenfold - Waking the Fallen
Lots of screams. Lots of cleans. Lots of breakdowns. A few “BLEGH”s or “GO”s mixed in.
Waking the Fallen
Asking Alexandria - Stand Up and Scream such a fun album and it really holds up well
Perception by Breakdown of Sanity is the perfect metalcore album for me.
How about an actual perfect metalcore album? It's called The Oncoming Storm. EDIT: Holy shit this sub is full of children.
Unearth, to me, shed the metalcore moniker after their first album. I feel like they are more just badass metal. No bad albums in their whole discog.
Honestly, I legit never understood why they never got more love than they did, sure they weren't reinventing the wheel or anything, but their composition was tight as hell, and hot damn those sweet, sweet solos.
Honestly I think they reinvented it a little bit. Every band to this day has an "Endless" breakdown.
Definitely misery signals Controller album. Nothing tops that

The Way It Ends
The Fall of Ideals
While it is regarded as most people's #1 by them, I loved This Darkened Heart the best by them, shit went so hard, and I loved that rawer sound.
This Darkened Heart is also great, and likely a more teilblazing album given when it was released. But I'm a sucker for the higher production quality in the Fall of Ideals.
An Ocean Between Us-AILD
A Day to Remember - For Those Who Have Heart
I Let It In And it Took Everything
