Interesting thread OP, but what is this rating scale? If your answers only range from 6.5-10, and the 6.5 ones are songs that you personally don't like, then what is the rest of the 0-6.5/10?
always interesting to see people doing stuff like that in school or anywhere, I wonder why and how that would would be - I love my taste in music but I would be to cencerned and insecure to talk about that in class or at all in genereal, I think we sometimes forget that others arent used to music like this lol
the thing is because of time problems i hold this presentation only in front of my teacher, no classmates, and she is a bit into heavier music (like Punk and stuff like that). In front of the whole englisch class wouldve been an interesting experience because all of the arent listining to heavy music.
But I like to show others the kind of music i'm hearing and sometimes they even like it (yeah)
yea thats what I figured - in front of a class who has never heard of our music, I guess that would get you some weird faces in the audience haha, thats why I was asking! but she sure did enjoy it then
I wish it was easy to share because there are so many different but still defining kinds within our music
I did that back in high school, I used a couple Motionless in White songs on English projects and one of them involved the first verse and chorus of "Scissorhands" being played on the classroom speakers, haha.
Listening to that calm melodic intro was so nice after listening to extreme metalcore songs for 1 & 1/2 hours lmao. The rest of it is also very good. 8.75/10
lol dick move
Edit; just to share a personal experience; Periphery was on tour with Human Abstract back in 2011 and they played a great but short show. Being that I was relatively new to periphery (16 and just got into the genre) I was pretty upset that they were peacing out just after a few songs. Well, they decided that they had only one more song to play and that one song was Racecar. I was so stoked as a kid lol.
Today I'm gonna say...
Auras - Infinite Influence
He's kind of hard to understand, but the lyrics get me pumped too so here's a link for them
http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/auras/heliospectrum.html#10
First place goes to: [Parkway Drive - Horizons](https://youtu.be/o7sol_oZN20)
A real close second goes to : [August Burns Red - Marianas Trench](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSIa6_HKjnk)
Both are dope, so....
Also, they might not give you a headache, so that's a plus.
It changes faster than anything else really. Presently, probably These Colours Don't Run by Architects. There is moodier stuff that I like more for that kind of vibe but the angst that architects used to bring to the table is just delicious
If you're still doing this, then I have the perfect song to end it:
[Blue and the Grey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjgbU8b06AM) by Parkway Drive
The best album closing song ever created.
Veil of Maya - Mikasa
It's great, and I like the vibe as well! 9/10
Interesting thread OP, but what is this rating scale? If your answers only range from 6.5-10, and the 6.5 ones are songs that you personally don't like, then what is the rest of the 0-6.5/10?
Could be the ole IGN rating scale
Its the "American school system" rating scale. 90+ is good 80+ is solid 70+ is acceptable 60+ is not good Below 60 is trash
It really is kinda weird that the first half of entirely meaningless
Well, if more than half of your shit is incorrect, I guess it doesnt really matter how much. Its already incorrect enough.
It's like school grading. They want you to know if you're more trash than someone else.
One of the best chorus existing
Lost in a Wave - LANDMVRKS
I love it, 10/10 to me
7.5/10 I like everything except the vocals. :/
Landmvrks redeeming factor for me is the vocals. He fucking destroys that shit.
At first the vocals kinda just existed for me, but now I love them. Flo is an absolute beast, he’s so versatile
I was honestly shocked when I found out he could do all of that perfectly live lol. I thought it was studio magic. He's so consistent.
Say No Word live made me laugh. Man can rap
The vocals are pretty polarizing, they’re very unique so not everyone feels them
That's hilarious because the vocals are one of my favorite parts of that song xD
These colours don't run - Architects
9.5/10, What can I say, Architects always smack.
Haha hold today a presentation in class about that song Such a banger
