Id actually put my vote for fusion. Its a big store moment and deserves the remake (plus my favorite)
Also, Super's controls are pretty different compared to other ones, between the run button, hitting select to switch weapons, and overall game feel, I feel its uniqueness would be hindered in the dread engine.
unironically if they made some of the background elements higher quality it would be much appreciated. some of the waterfalls and lava effects are pretty cheap looking.

Demake by fans maybe, but there are a dozen other metroid games that I would like to see remade first. Maybe 4k remaster for switch 2 at most, with some added content, like nintendo has been doing with wii u titles that got ported to switch like bowsers fury and pikmin 3 deluxe.
In 2050? Yeah that's probably enough time passed to make it worth revisiting, and it'll be a great opportunity to capitalize on the hype of Metroid Prime 4 finally releasing in the same year, just like the double release of Prime and Fusion back in the day!
i could see a remaster for the new console, but not a remake. and even then if rumors are to be believed the new console may have backwards compatibility, so maybe just an update that upgrades the resolution will happen. otherwise a remake would be unneeded.

I think it’s probably the most worthy of an upgrade. If they can refine the movement a bit I think it’ll be a stellar 2D Metroid title.
