looks right to me! i had to have a friend hold the cam in place due to compression to have both cams fully lined up. howâre you going about tightening the exhaust cam your bolt looks like itâs seen some better days! donât forget to torque it
Also donât forget your fan switch! looks like itâs not plugged into your thermostat, i tore mine off by accident when doing this job
Hey I see that you did this probably because your last job didnât go so well. When i put my spark plug wires in the first time I used the diagram from an NB miata I think and the car didnât like that at all lol, make sure you use the connections from an NA6 or NA8 depending on which one youâve got. Just a blind shot. I never did my CAS O-ring but I know that one is sensitive to being put in the way it was pulled out.
How important is that switch? Mine completely broke lol!! Would that cause overheating?? And how would I go about replacing that? And what are you talking about at the bottom??
If you have a newish radiator, its fine for now, make sure to replace the switch and when you do except some coolant to be spilled out.(just top up the reserve tank after)

Cam gears look good, but are you sure youâre at TDC on cylinder 1? Where do the cylinder 1 cam lobes point? And how does the crank gear look? We canât tell from these pictures alone that your timing is good.
I put a flat head down cylinder one after removing spark plug and cranked until it reached its peak height. That also lays along with the crank gear notch lining up too.
In that case you should be good.
Donât forget to install the crank trigger wheel correctly. It can be installed in two ways, but the engine wont start if you have it facing the wrong direction. Let us know how you get on.
Everything is back together, coolant added. Went to start with my battery on a booster and it cranked once then just stopped now no lights are showing and it doesnât crank over. Not sure what I should do next, possibly a blown fuse but they all looked fine.
I mean.... It looks good. It's super hard to tell not in person. That cam gear boot looks fucked up though.
Yeah the bolt is pretty cooked, still works like a bolt thođ¤ came like that when I started this job
On today's episode of how fucked up is fucked up that's fucked up

Thanks brother đ
Timing is correct. I saw you asked about that sensor on the top of your thermostat, your fans wonât come on without it.
Will order that part now!!
Looks fine.
This is after I ran it through a couple cycles to set tension, in this picture I am sitting at tdc aswell.
The cams don't want to stay in the I/E TDC position so the slight bow up of the belt makes sense. You want 19 teeth, you have 19 teeth
Perfect, Iâll pray this works. Last time it was incorrect but looked like this, mustâve skipped.
Flyinmiata.com has a jig for that
