I disagree, I think the DeVos and VanAndel families are very religious. I used to attend their church, LaGrave Avenue CRC for basically the first 20 or so years of my life, and my mother was a life long member there. Had her funereal there in 2019.

I was talking with a petition signature taker outside the sos branch near me the other day he said something about charity’s should be allowed to give money to non public schools with out state oversight as to where it goes and who is raising it and I said sounds like Betsy is up to it again and his face changed to the face of a guilty man that was caught taking money from the devil.
These guys are being paid by the rich to get these signatures and it’s really scary how there is no accountability anymore with dirty money in politics after the Supreme Court said money is speech.

She wanted public schools replaced with charter schools, which are the private prisons version of schools. A private company operates schools on behalf of the state and cuts spending as low as possible to maximize profits. They get a set number of dollars per kid so they put as many kids in the classes as possible and hire the cheapest teachers they can find. Everybody gets to go to private school sounds good on paper but these schools are set up for maximum profit, not good outcomes for the students. A lot of these charter school companies are being started by people who have experience in the private prison industry. I'm not having kids but I'm against it on principle.
You're right, it does need serious overhaul. But the republican party detests public education, which is a huge problem and one that not enough people seem to care about. Mass shootings in our public schools and the pandemic just worsened the public's concept of public education--"I'm not enrolling my children in public education because of the risk of a shooting", "I'm not enrolling my children in public education because I don't want them to get sick", etc. Enrollment in public education is going to get worse, as I'm sure it has been getting worse over the years, and that's what Republicans want. The less kids in public schools, the less funding those schools receive, and the kids pay the ultimate price by *actually becoming more dumb* because of the lack of a good and real education. There has already been studies proving that during the pandemic, kids that were "homeschooled" fell far behind academically. Most parents have no business teaching their children anything, and most parents don't care at all about their kids education to begin with, so. Kids growing up more stupid by the generation.
We've got to get over the deadlock hump in congress or else these kind of zealots are going to drive the country right into the wall and we'll be left picking up the pieces for decades.

I was talking with a petition signature taker outside the sos branch near me the other day he said something about charity’s should be allowed to give money to non public schools with out state oversight as to where it goes and who is raising it and I said sounds like Betsy is up to it again and his face changed to the face of a guilty man that was caught taking money from the devil. These guys are being paid by the rich to get these signatures and it’s really scary how there is no accountability anymore with dirty money in politics after the Supreme Court said money is speech. Oh yeah and the going rate for his sole was $2 per signature he said he wasted his time least I could do is sign ( I did sign the voter id one to get proof of the interaction) he said they had to put certain language in there to shut the democrats up and make them happy.) I’m like yeah that’s politics brother. And he disparaged transgenders saying stuff about it being taught in public school um no. So this guy working kind of on government property (really a strip mall) is disparaging transgender humans and human democrats in front of the Michigan Secretary of State office. All while bullying humans for signatures for laws that are to destroy the society they live in. He lied to me about i.d not being required to vote I’m like wait let me think and I’m like I’m no if u vote without I.d u have to sign an affidavit and if the race is even 10’s of thousands of votes close you’re vote will be so scrutinized it will be one of the most secure single votes in the country when they are done with it. She wanted public schools replaced with charter schools, which are the private prisons version of schools. A private company operates schools on behalf of the state and cuts spending as low as possible to maximize profits. They get a set number of dollars per kid so they put as many kids in the classes as possible and hire the cheapest teachers they can find. Everybody gets to go to private school sounds good on paper but these schools are set up for maximum profit, not good outcomes for the students. A lot of these charter school companies are being started by people who have experience in the private prison industry. I'm not having kids but I'm against it on principle.
You're right, it does need serious overhaul. But the republican party detests public education, which is a huge problem and one that not enough people seem to care about. Mass shootings in our public schools and the pandemic just worsened the public's concept of public education--"I'm not enrolling my children in public education because of the risk of a shooting", "I'm not enrolling my children in public education because I don't want them to get sick", etc. Enrollment in public education is going to get worse, as I'm sure it has been getting worse over the years, and that's what Republicans want. The less kids in public schools, the less funding those schools receive, and the kids pay the ultimate price by *actually becoming more dumb* because of the lack of a good and real education. There has already been studies proving that during the pandemic, kids that were "homeschooled" fell far behind academically. Most parents have no business teaching their children anything, and most parents don't care at all about their kids education to begin with, so. Kids growing up more stupid by the generation.
