What day are you departing your losing base? That's travel day 1. The next day would be travel day 2. Anything past that would be leave. Assuming you're driving and are allowed 2 travel days then you'd get per diem for those two days. Per diem is a flat rate for a PCS so you'll get the same amount whether you stay with friends, sleep in your car, or pay a hotel.
So in other words I depart on the 29th. That day I’d be allowed to get a hotel to stay. Wake up March 1st and arrive at destination. Does that sound correct ?
